Hermes ignored the sight, heading towards the door, adjusting his collar as a nervous habit, even as his face didnât show any sign of inner turmoil.
âI will have time to rest once I eat.â He spoke with a smile, looking somewhere in the general direction of Aphrodite.
At that she spat out a laugh, rolling her eyes. âYouâre a God. You donât have to eat.â She corrected, still shaking her head. Her eyes fell back on her bed. âOr restâŠâ She shrugged, getting up with another slow stretch. âYouâve kept me awake for too long for me to be able to go back asleep.â With a small pout, Aphrodite fully undid her robe, stepping out of it and prancing over to her dresser, she pulled out a lace dress that covered her less than the robe did. âI guess Iâll come down with you if youâre that lonely.âÂ
âI donât have to eat. But I am fond of the way mortals have to live day by day. Always worries about food, water, resting.â He mused to himself, counting on his fingers.
Hermesâ eyes followed her, unwavering in expression. He wasnât immune to her beauty, no one is ever immune to Aphrodite, but he didnât wish to give her any satisfaction or power.
âItâs been a long time since we indulged in each otherâs presence for long. I almost thought you didnât think I was worthy of your precious time.â
