Without hesitation, Barty pressed Evan forcefully against the wall, his usual strategy of attacking before being attacked. However, Evan simply grinned.
"How are you never scared of me?"
Barty growled, his voice laced with a hint of desperation, as he tightened his grip on Evan's throat. His eyes flickered with a volatile mix of anger, confusion, and a touch of vulnerability.
"You're like a barking dog that never bites, Barty," Evan stated nonchalantly.
Then, with wild eyes locked onto Barty's gaze, he added, "I bite."
A tremor coursed through Barty's body, his breath catching in his throat as he struggled to maintain his composure. The grip on Evan's throat weakened, fingers loosening their hold, as a glimmer of uncertainty mingled with the raw intensity in Barty's gaze.
"Down"
Evan commanded in a whisper, his gaze unyielding and his expression unfazed. Unflinching and resolute, as he stared deep into the very essence of the man before him.
And Barty complied, sinking to his knees.
