Shifting Into a Higher Gear

I haven’t been very active on here lately.  It’s not just because I don’t have JoJo fridays to repost about (for now).

I’ve been crazy busy.  Life is taking an interesting turn and I’ve been presented with a few great opportunities at the same time.  But taking these opportunities is also taking almost every spare minute I have.

Still, it’s pushing me more than I’ve been pushed in many years, and it’s the first time in ages that I feel like I’m really growing and changing as a person.  I’ve spent the last 3 or 4 years of my working life muddling in stagnation; but that option is being taken away soon.

My options are to find somewhere else to wallow in complacency and mediocrity, or to strike out on my own and be fully responsible for my own well being.  I’ve chosen the latter.  It’s both exhilarating and frightening.

Laying before me is a path to financial stability, flexibility and freedom far past what I have ever known before.  But along the way are all kinds of hurdles and spike pits to clear.

I’ve geared up and steeled myself.  I may falter along the way.  But as intimidating as the path before me is, I know that I can’t turn back.  Whatever may come, the only way for me now is forward.
