I think about telling my dad, who worked for 46 years on the railroad, ‘Somebody offered me $100,000 to put my song in a movie, and I said no because it’s a stupid movie.’ He would want to kill me. The idea of selling out is only understandable to people of privilege.

This is yeomans work. I cant believe she went through the whole thing, Just the Summary is confusing.
The Google/Microsoft YouTube dispute tells you more about the way software for the mobile internet is being developed than you might have thought.
Its now really clear that google is just being evil in this whole Windows Phone youtube thing. I thought it was just googles normal anti microsoft thing, but now reading the details in this article combined with the fact that they dropped the price of the Nexus 4 to $199 makes me think they really are worried about the threat of Windows Phone at the lower end of the price spectrum. Until now Android did not have a decent low priced phone, everything in the sub $200 range was a horrible experience.
Whats really worrying though is that google is delivering its mobile web experiences with a lot of code hat will work only on webkit browsers (i.e. safari and chrome), rather than web standards. This is almost exactly the same thing as what microsoft did with IE 6 in the late 1990's, using a dominant position position in OS(Android) to prevent competitors playing on an even field.
