Angela Carter just keeps delightfully jumpscaring me with Dracula references. I forgot that a story in The Bloody Chamber, The Lady in the House of Love, is heavily influenced by Dracula. Or, rather, it seems influenced by the first parts of the first part of Dracula, and the lore that developed around it, and the adaptations of it (the ending is somewhat like a gender-flipped Nosferatu), but perhaps that's for the better.
