Mirror Mirror (1990)
Martin (1977) - more or less a movie about me.
Little Corey Gorey (1993)
This is the kind of stuff I starve for - the movie I mean.
It's better written and produced than it ever had the right to, it's surprisingly entertaining from start to finish and is a must for horror-hair metal fans, which I'm aware it's not a huge niche. Although the dialogue abuses of the N-word I think it works more as critique and an hyperbolic unexpected portrayal of degeneracy in America (Corey's older racist brother's room ornated with a big ass swastika and right-wing punk bands such as S.O.D. pretty much make it an obvious satire) and I really fucked with it, as this darkly-commedic uncanny aesthetic, with what I kind of think of as a sense of style and comfort for weirdos - for the lack of a better word - which also is present on Massacre at Central High and Strange Behavior, for instance - even though the latter falls shorter.
It really upsets me that director Bill Morroni has such a sad life story, and that he went through such a hard 6 year time during the production and 4 more of post-production, just to be ripped off by the distributor. That that has affected his will, strenght and financial stability to make movies for more than a decade, and being hit by dementia in more recent years. You can read an interview I found here. I wish I'd have more of his stuff to watch but the few of his other movies seem to have fallen deeply under the radar. Can only hope he's in a better place.
Anyway, sick.
