He was silently reading his book, flicking through the pages while he waited on his food arriving. It wasn’t until he felt a set of eyes on his that he looked up to see another guy staring at him “uh hello?” he offered, not really having any idea what the guy wanted from him to be staring so hard. “can i help you with something, or?”

When Doug realizes that he’s been spotted staring, an embarrassed little smile tugs on his lips and he coughs, as if that’ll somehow make him seem less creepy. After a few moments though, the embarrassment fades easily and he leans forward a little on his table in an effort to get closer to the other. “I was just wondering what you’re reading. It looks like a fascinating book.”

John was closing up the shop for his lunch hour, deciding to go get some coffee and a burger to tide him over his afternoon appointments. He strolled along the path with a book in his hand until he reached Granny’s Diner and headed in to grab a seat and order up some food. John opened up his book and read through some pages while waiting on his order being delivered to his table. 

As he watches the man enter the diner, Doug can’t help but allow his eyes to wander toward the book in his hands. What kind of book is it? Is it something Doug hasn’t read yet? He puts the bookmark inside of his own literature, leaning a little against his own table to squint and try to get a peek at the title of the book. A soft sigh escapes his lips when the man opens it, leaving the spine hidden from view. Now how is he supposed to find new books to read? His brows furrow, Doug spacing out without realizing he is staring.

Roxanne was bored, so bored actually that she had found herself just sitting against a wall kicking her feet back and forth. No, Roxanne couldn’t handle this. Getting up she just walked up to the first person shetook notice to. “I have a small challenge… Okay? Well, it’s not a challenge and don’t think you have to say yes but… I have nothing better to do so I was wondering if we could do something. I just… I don’t know if you’re busy and I’m bored so… what do you say?”

Reading isn’t something that most people could expect Doug to be fond of, but as long as the book isn’t full of words that are ridiculous difficult to understand, he allows himself to become engrossed in the stories. However, he’s pulled from his fantasy world as he hears a voice, looking up to spot a pretty young girl. Doug immediately smiles in a friendly, warm manner. “I like challenges!” He laughs a little, shutting the book. “I think that’s a great idea! I’d love to hang out with a woman as beautiful as yourself.” Now he extends his hand for a formal shake. “My name is Doug. What is yours? What would you like to do?”

He’s staring at the person as they walk through the park, feeling incredibly curious about both their demeanor and who they are. It’s a someone he hasn’t seen before and Doug is always up for making new friends. The problem is, sometimes he’s a little too over-bearing with it. A large smile clings to his lips as he practically bounds toward the other person, watching as they seem to drop a wallet and not notice. “Oh no!” Doug snatches the wallet quickly and jumps in front of them to stop them from walking further. “Excuse me, sir, but I could not help but notice that you dropped your wallet. I am Doug, and I couldn’t just let you walk away without returning it to you!” @luc-fur

It had been a surprisingly busy day for Ferris at work. He was working by himself and was all over the place. It resulted in stupid mistakes. Which led to someone coming up to him to complain. He had messed up their order. He felt himself begin to flush with embarrassment. “Oh god! I am so sorry! L-let me fix that for you.” His voice was slightly shaky as he looked back down at the ice cream. 

“Oh, no! Do not be upset, because it’s perfectly okay! People make mistakes!” Doug is always entirely too cheerful for his own good, and so he just smiles stupidly at the waiter. “I will wait patiently for the order to be fixed. There’s no worries!” When he hears the man’s voice is shaky, Doug reaches out to touch their arm reasurringly.

       — Todd had decided to go out that night, something he basically never did, but of course, he had brought a book with him to a bar, looking completely out of place, as usual. He looked up from his book, looking at all the people bustling about when he thought he saw someone looking up at him, so he smiled shyly and waved, hoping he wasn’t making a complete fool out of himself, although, he probably was.

While it is strange that someone would bring a book to a bar, that is not why Doug is staring. He’s staring because he’s so ridiculously friendly that whenever he sees someone who looks like a loner, he wants to be their friend. So when the man looks up and waves, Doug’s face lights up. He grabs his beer and immediately wanders over, sitting down at the table. “Hi. I’m Doug!”

She had been fighting with the stupid technology for hours and hours, “Don’t tell me you can’t make change, Devil Box!” She grabbed her chancla and whacked it against the register several times, a look of anger and determination taking over her face.

Doug stands there in front of the angry woman who is beating on a poor, defenseless cash register with a slipper, looking bewildered. She is a terrified woman, and now he is afraid to speak to her. However, after a few moments of hesitation he opens his mouth and steps forward just once. “Um.. are you okay, lady?”

Okay, so hello guys! I’m super excited to be here with Doug. Here’s a bit of info that I have come up with him so far. It’s not much, because I still have a lot to figure out! Please don’t be shy about approaching me plot ideas. I love them and love you!

When Doug was born, the only thing that his parents did for him was give him a name. Then they promptly put him up for adoption.

From an early age, Doug didn’t display a whole lot of smarts, and so he never had anyone interested in adopting him, thus he hung out in foster homes and orphanages until the age of 10.

When he turned ten, Doug met a lovely elderly couple who wanted to take him in and give him a home.

He worked hard, though he could never get good grades in school.

Eventually he dropped out as a junior in high school and became a front desk clerk for the Sleepy Hollow Inn.

He’s got a lot of friends, because he’s incredibly loyal and wants to socialize with literally everyone.
