Ferris was never really good at handling stressful situations. So busy days usually were not the best for him. His hands and legs were shaking as he turned to the next customer. Their smile eased his stress slightly, but his nerves were still getting the better of him. “I-I’m sorry that it’s taking me so long...” He looked down at the ice cream in front of him. “I-I’m not the best at decisions, so i-is there anything that sounds g-good to you?”

Ferris found himself blinking wide-eyed at the girl. He had never thought of using a ouija board before. It was something he never thought he would be comfortable with. He was scared of a lot, especially ghosts, so he wasn’t sure he was ready for this. But of course he couldn’t find a reason to say no to her earlier, so he slowly sat himself down across from her. “I-I know... It’s why I’ve never used one before.” He looked up at her as he stuttered. His expression likely showed his his fear because he was never good at hiding his emotions. “G-g-ghosts aren’t something to mess with.”

         — Acadia looked up at the boy standing over her, a wide grin spread across her face “Ferris!” she exclaimed quickly standing up and pulling her friend into a quick hug “it’s been awhile since i’ve seen you, what’s been keeping you so entertained? isn’t that my job?” she teased, setting her notebook down on the stair beside her.

Ferris couldn’t help but feel his smile grow ever so slightly as he saw one form on the other’s face. He was surprised by the hug but gladly accepted it before carefully pulling away. “It has been a while.” He said before crossing his arms lightly over his chest. “Your job? When was it ever your job to keep me busy?” He let out a chuckle.

The guy was cute. Cute and very clearly out of place, Kiara noted. She chuckled a little as he stepped in front of her, taking him by the arms and spinning them around, so her back was now to the door and his was to the club. “Take it easy buttercup. We don’t all bite here. Even if we did, I’m off the clock and am ready to go home, and maybe order some much needed Chinese food.” Kiara laughed a little. 

Ferris wasn’t comfortable around new people. Especially girls as pretty as the one in front of him. He averted his gaze as she grabbed him by the arms. A small laugh escaped him as she spoke. He scratched the back of his neck lightly, still clearly embarrassed and unsure of what to do. “S-still, I do feel bad. I should have been paying attention.” He paused for a moment. “I-I was just trying to get some time away from so many people.”

It had been a surprisingly busy day for Ferris at work. He was working by himself and was all over the place. It resulted in stupid mistakes. Which led to someone coming up to him to complain. He had messed up their order. He felt himself begin to flush with embarrassment. “Oh god! I am so sorry! L-let me fix that for you.” His voice was slightly shaky as he looked back down at the ice cream.

Another long night of dancing, another long night of good money made. Now Kiara was just ready to go home and crawl into bed. After pulling her clothes back on and changing into a much more sensible pair of shoes for this time of year, Kiara walked out of the dressing room and towards the exit, only to bump right into one of the patrons. “Whoops, sorry about that. I guess after a night of dancing your legs just kinda turn to jelly and steer you the wrong way, huh?” Kiara asked with a smile, moving to step around them and leave.

Ferris wasn’t one you’d usually see at a place like Bare Necessities. He in fact hated places like it. He was not a people person, so he wasn’t comfortable with so many bodies in one place. He came in today though just to say he had tried to go once, but he immediately regretted his decision. He was trying to find the bathroom in hopes of getting a moment of peace and somewhat quiet. He wasn’t paying attention as he ran into someone. He looked to see it was one of the dancers. His face flushed. “N-no. I’m sorry... I wasn’t watching where I was going.” He said as he ended up moving into her way as he tried to step to the side.

          — A day off wasn’t much of a day off for Acadia, she still had to get lesson plans in order and make sure everything at her next swim class would go smoothly. She was sitting on the steps to her building, writing down some notes when she saw someone approach “am I in your way?” she spoke before even seeing who had come close to her, or if they were even talking to her.

Ferris had been heading home from work. It was a quiet walk from Sugar Rush back to his apartment. He wasn’t really paying attention as he started up the stairs of his building. A voice made him realize someone was in the way. He looked down to see a familiar face in front of him. “Wow Acadia. Is that how you greet your friends?” He said with a small laugh.

Roxanne tried looking at the abstract painting at the wall. She wasn’t used to going to galleries but this one had a lot of good things to snack on while she tried to pretend she was interested in any of these paintings. “I really don’t get it… it’s just shapes? I can do this and yet nothing of mine can be sold for thousands of dollars.” 

Ferris looked over at the girl as she spoke. His gaze flicked over to the painting she was talking about. He nodded in agreement as he spoke up. “Modern art really doesn’t make sense. It’s like someone can just paint a giant canvas purple and get a million dollars for it. It’s rather stupid in my opinion.”

“I-I don’t really like talking about my family... My parents weren’t the greatest and my brothers and sister didn’t like me much.”

the boy looked at the other, unsure what he felt, if anything at all.. like nothing serious had happened, he hadn’t put that much feeling into either..  it had been weird.. he’d just moved into down, gotten his dream job, started his transition and was getting close to having his top-surgery….  he’d just looked a lot different.. more.. child like.. girl-ish even, or just like a 12 year old boy.. but now.. he looked his age.. he felt like he looked the way a 21 year old man would look like, or was supposed to look like.. anyways he looked grown up, and a lot different then he did when he was 18.. and now here a faint memory of that time showed up out of nowhere, and it was awkward.. “Oh– i’v been great.. things are really great.. what about for you?”

Ferris thought back to when he last saw the other comparing it to now. He was surprised how different it was. He definitely looked older, but he also seemed to be more confident. Ferris thought he looked good. Though he has not changed as much in appearance, he was more open about his actual feelings. He had to thank Copper for that. The brunette had been the first one that Ferris had felt comfortable coming out of the closet for. He just felt bad for screwing things up afterwards. “That’s good to hear.” He said as he paused for a moment. “Nothings really new. Pretty much the same.”

getting coffee as he walked between his work and where he lived, seemed to become more and more of a regular thing for him to do, and today was no different.. having stood in line, copper peered over at the chalkboard that listed all the daily specials, through thick brown frames that was made out of as well as hiding underneath a head of thick curly hair.. he didn’t expect much from that day, like it would be regular like any other, but that didn’t seem to be the case after all as he heard a voice call his name, making him look up and over as they landed on a face he’d seen before, but not in a looong while.. “Oh– uhm.. hey… yeah..”

Ferris instantly felt guilt. He hated bothering people, so he almost couldn’t believe that he had spoken up at all. A hand went up to scratch lightly at the back of his neck. His eyes flickered to the floor as he tried to think of what to say. He was frozen as he brought his gaze back up to meet with the other’s brown eyes. A wave of emotion hit him like a train. He swallowed harshly before forcing himself to speak. “H-how have you been?” It was the only thing he could think of. It was stupid, but he wasn’t sure if he could force anything else out.

Ferris’ eyes went wide as he spotted a familiar face on the other side of the coffee shop. He wasn’t quite sure what to do. With his personality and outward appearance, he didn’t seem like the sort of person that enjoyed horror, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. He adored horror, fiction novels. And now he was face to face with his favorite author. He couldn’t believe it almost. 

It took all of his courage and a deep breath to approach the other’s table. “I am so sorry to bother you, but you’re Edmond Gracey right? I swear I don’t normally do this, but I really just had to come over and say I’m a huge fan. But you probably get that a lot. I’m again sorry for bothering you. I’ll just go.” His words came out quickly and mashed together.

Ferris stood quietly in line for a cup of coffee. He was fine minding his own business, in fact, that was what he was best at. It wasn’t until his eyes spotted a familiar face that he flinched. It was someone he hadn’t actually seen in a long time. Someone that things didn’t necessarily end well with when they last spoke. He felt himself go breathless before even speaking. “Copper? Is that you? It’s been a while.” He said almost hoping the other hadn’t seen or heard him.
