Ice Mod's notes
This timeline has yet to change as Douma has not yet entered a time where his fate is sealed. Perhaps with enough patience and effort you can change his fate?
Ice-Verse's
Role-swap AU: In which Douma gives up on the eternal paradise cult and takes the place of one of the hashira but is the main one in charge of the kakushi.
Pre final battle Main one used
Post final battle AU: In which through ways not yet decided by a change of fate, Douma survives his encounter with Shinobu, Kanao and Inosuke.
Human AU: In which you go back 113 years and perhaps farther to see Douma before he was turned into a demon.
Redemption AU: In which after the final battle he awakes to find that he has been returned to being human and with his cult and temple in ruins He will have to relearn to navigate the world as a human, hopefully learning to better himself in the process.
Modern AU: essentially Demon slayer in the modern era; the Eternal Paradise faith continues the way it has since the beginning. New followers enter but none ever leave and it never disbands despite the governments best efforts.
Kimetsu Academy AU: follows the canon kimetsu academy verse
Everyone lives AU: In which Douma himself has changed very little, But everyone from Hashira to Kizuki has survived their respective encounters with eachother until it all comes to a head during the final battle.
*She nods “Of course I do! It’s hard to find food that I dislike so I will usually eat anything.” She shrugged before continuing to eat. Soon the bowl was empty minus a few stray noodles and some broth, Yuno leaning back in content as she patted her belly. “That was very good food! Whoever cooked it knew what they were doing!”*
*Douma nodded understandingly, he vaguely recalled being much the same when he was human, though he never got to go out and try very much due to constantly being busy aiding his followers and not having the thought to hire staff to handle everything necessary until mere months before becoming a demon. Douma finishes his bowl shortly before you do, though it naturally is not quite as filling as his human prey; it made for a decent enough snack.* "Agreed, I'll have to thank the chef later..." *He thought aloud, a soft purr rumbling in his chest.*
*She lets out a breathy laugh, grabbing a napkin and reaching over to clean his mouth. “That’s good hun, glad you’re enjoying it.” Once she finished cleaning him up she went back to eating, and she was the opposite of Douma, barely getting messy at all*
*He gently takes the napkin and cleans himself up, though now it's a bit more obvious why he hides himself away when he eats by himself.* "Do you like it my dearest?" *He asks curiously before resuming eating. Though he was surprised that you didn't seem to mind that he was a bit messy, though it wasn't exactly like he could help it; having never actually been taught proper table manners growing up and being used to having meals that got messy no matter what he tried, will do that. Though he also thought you were rather adorable to watch*
Oh believe me I am well aware, and don't worry I have everything planned out; I'm taking everyone else who is lgbt+ shopping for pride outfits, found a night-time pride parade to bring them to, and have been experimenting with edible mica to try and make rainbow colored blood and meat
*She talked with the young follower for a few minutes before her attention was turned back to the food. “Oh this looks great! I’ll have to say thank you to the cooks!” She clapped her hands together and started eating, humming in satisfaction. “How does it taste for you?” She asked Douma, cheeks puffed out like a Squirrel*
*Douma carefully mixes the blood into the ramen before hesitantly trying it. He finds that it tastes a little stale but is otherwise palatable. Looking over to him you find his one flaw; apparently he is a bit of a messy eater though he is evidently trying hard not to be. A bright, embarrassed blush crosses his face as he sees you and he quickly swallows.* "It's quite good"
*She nods, making sure her own outfit and hair looked presentable. “Alright, lead the way big guy!” She patted his arm before interlacing her hand with his*
"This way my dear" *Douma gently held your hand as he led you out of his bedroom door and into the central area of his temple where some of his followers are milling about. Since Douma normally slept through both breakfast and lunch leading to him eating alone in his room; this would be your first time eating together since he had recently been told about a little trick for demons to not give themselves away while eating and he was excited to try it out, already having snuck a vial of blood into his pocket while you were distracted. Soon everyone gathered in the dining hall for lunch; his hired staff apparently having made a nice pork ramen. He snuck the vial of blood into his bowl when one of his younger followers got your attention to ask where you had been the last few days*
I marvel at your words, my eyes glimmering with admiration. I nod along, my mouth slightly ajar. I pull the blanket closer to me.
I giggle hearing about Yuto and Tohru, “Just like you found me! It was fate!!!”
My face turns more serious as I reflect on my own words.
It was fate…
“When my Mommy was on the ground, I was really scared. But when I saw you, I knew I could trust you. Something in my heart told me I could! And we’re gonna find Auntie Bou-Bou, she’s gonna help us find my Mommy, and then we’ll defeat the mean evil demon who hurt her! I’ll train suuuper hard with you, and with Auntie, and everything will be okay!” A soft smile reaches my lips as I blink up at you with hope.
“I know it was fate for me to find you, Douma! Everything’s going to be okay now that I’ve met you! I promise!” I snake out my hand from the warm blanket, finding your hand and squeezing it, sealing in my vow.
A chill runs up my body from the frigid breeze, despite the blanket that you hold close around me. I shiver slightly. “Maybe we can go inside now? Tomorrow, we can plan the wedding for Kitty Yutohru!” I jump up, tugging on your arm as you get up and hold out a hand to help me do the same.
On the way back, I talk about other things from my life before meeting you, the excitement in my voice palpable as I feel ever closer to getting back to the Corps.
I pause my steps as I hear two familiar voices. I tilt my head in their direction before turning. “Kit- I-I mean, Yuto and Tohru!!! EEE!!” I sprint over to them, jumping around them with glee. I babble on about their wedding, not ceasing to spew out congratulations despite their nervous laughter and insistence that they are not getting married. Tohru and Yuto’s faces are both bright red by the time you make your way over.
“Hehe, you guys look silly,” I point up at their faces.
Yuto chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck shyly. Tohru gently rubs my head, giving me a shy smile. I melt into her warm touch, a yawn coming out of nowhere. I slump against her legs, all of my energy zapped out of me all of a sudden.
“Founder, would it be okay if I had a word with you?” Yuto glances at Tohru briefly, sharing a look. Tohru scoops me up into her arms, my eyes shutting instantly as I rest my head into the crook of her neck.
“And you Miss Sayaka, are way past your bedtime,” she boops my nose.
“Nooo, I’m awake…we need to pl… Kitty… mm…cake…” I make a futile attempt to wave her off, but my arm falls to the side.
Tohru smiles at you, a grateful look on her face, “Thank you for everything, Savior. I’ll take the little one back to her room as well as check on her wounds.” She pauses, hesitant as she looks at Yuto, “Um…Yuto…darling…I-I’ll…see you tomorrow?” She shifts her weight to her other foot, fidgeting slightly with the hem of my outfit.
Yuto’s face breaks into a joyful smile, nodding excitedly, “Absolutely, Tohr- ah, um… darling!” He gives a chuckle, his face bright, full of life. Tohru nods, her face heating up once more as she turns on her heel, heading towards my room.

Tohru sets me down on my bed, humming softly as she rearranges my pillows and blankets. I sit and watch her, blurry-eyed with my sudden onset of fatigue. I rub my eyes and squint, trying to clear my vision. But now my eyes want to shut…
Tohru’s humming is so lulling. I wonder what the song is. I wonder if Tohru wants to be a mommy too, one day. I think she would be a good one. I think this song would be a good one to hum or sing to her kids.
Tohru guides my sleepy self under the covers and tucks me in, handing me my ram plushie. I look at her as she gently tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. Through my half-lidded eyes, she looks vaguely like Mama, humming me to sleep.
But…I don’t want to go to sleep yet! I have to tell Tohru the plan to find Auntie Bou-Bou!
“Mm..Mama! Stop humming!! You’re making me so sleepy!” I protest with all my might, but my cheek is pushed into the pillow, and my breath has started to even.
Tohru pauses, her eyes widening in the process. Her eyes trace my serene face. She lets out a small breath as her shoulders weigh down and her fluttering heart sinks slightly. Sorrow fills her soul as her gentle fingertips brush against my cheek. She doesn't have the heart to correct me, letting me dream, just this once.
She clears her throat.
“Well, good, Ms. Sayaka!” she whispers. “You need to sleep. You’re still recovering from being sick. And you’ve been up much too late tonight.” She boops my nose.
The fire in me reignites. “But–” I push off my blankets in protest. “But I want to tell you about my Auntieee,” I whine. “Douma and I are gonna find her. We didn’t see her home from the roof, but that’s okay. We’ll find her soon! Maybe Douma can go on a searching adventure with me!”
“That sounds like a wonderful idea, Lady Sayaka. Why don’t you dream alllll about your plan? And you can tell me– and Yuto, and the Founder– in the morning, after you’ve gotten plenty of rest.”
“Okay!!” My bright smile turns into another yawn as I turn and curl up in my blanket once more. “Hmm…but how will I get my dreams to be…about Bou-Bou…?”
Tohru smiles sweetly as I finally give in to resting. “Maybe think about something that reminds you of her?”
I nod subtly as the last of my energy seeps from my body. “Butterflies…she loves butterflies.” I close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
Tohru turns out the lamp next to my bed, leaving herself with only silence and her own heartbeat for company in the dark room. A few scattered plastic stars glow dimly above her, casting the faintest light upon my face, leaving the rest obscured in gentle shadow. She watches me through half-lidded eyes as my breathing slows even more, into a calm, contented rhythm. Not unlike the rhythm of a slow, aching song that one listens to when all seems lost.
Tohru’s eyes drift up my face, a small frown adorning hers as she notices my dark, heavy eye bags, a product of all the stress. Her heart aches as she reaches to drag her fingerpads gently along them, trying to smooth them out to null the pain, erase all the trauma, keep only the happy, safe memories, just as it should be. Something deep within her wails.
"Oh, my sweet baby..." Her voice is a mere wisp in the air. She lets herself dream, just this once. Her fingers drop down, opting to brush against my cheek. A tender, affectionate, featherlike touch.
She lets herself stay like this for a few moments before clearing her throat, knowing better.
She pulls her hand back, a slight tremble in them. She folds her hands, tightly lacing her fingers together.
Safe, contained, at a distance.
Don't let yourself get too close to the patient, she reminds herself. Years of strict nursing training have instilled this into her.
But... but... her walls start to crack, her emotions start to break through. Consuming her thoughts, her actions. Letting herself slip.
She turns her body, pushing her face into her elbow, muffling a cry, tears dripping from her eyes.
Guilt furls in the pit of her stomach. She knows she shouldn't. She can't.
I’m not hers.
No matter how hard she hopes or tries. No matter how much she can provide or give.
It will never be enough.
Another sob is muffled as Tohru lets herself dream. Lets herself take a small part of me as her own. She deserves that much happiness, even if she’s…damaged…right?
Tohru steps slightly back, regaining her composure, taking as deep breaths as she can, her mouth still covered. She wipes her tears quickly, choosing to shove this down and deeming this day perfect.
She is finally in a relationship with a sweet guy. What more can she ask for? She has everything she needs.

“So, Savior- about what I wanted to say. Only if you have a moment.” Yuto smiles and shifts from side to side.
*Douma smiled softly and listened as you spoke, he could only hope that everything would be alright. Though he did not quite believe in fate, it was certainly mutually lucky that he had found you and everyone else here before anyone else had; and could understand why someone else would consider it as such. Though it brought an odd sensation to his chest to be so thoroughly yet somewhat incorrectly trusted by someone so small and innocent, he couldn't name it try as he might but it made him want to protect you as much as he could. He notices you curling closer while shivering and gently adjusts your position before carefully standing* "Yes, lets get you inside before you start growing icicles" *Douma jokingly remarked before going back the way both of you had come earlier and heading back inside while carrying you, only setting you down once both of you were safely on solid ground. Though as you talk to him about your life before coming to him, a thought strikes him like a bolt of lightning; though thankfully you are to distracted by Tohru and Yuto to notice how he paused in his tracks, a curious expression crossing his face. It was an ability the more powerful demons had that was so infrequently used that he had forgotten it entirely until now: Powerful enough demons could technically bring back the dead by giving them some of their blood and turning them into demons as well. Though it was risky, there was a far higher chance they would not remember their life before hand and an equally high chance it would not work at all. But Akaza was living proof it could work, as were Gyokko, Gyutaro and Daki when they were alive. But he would likely need assistance, he was powerful yes but Gyutaro and Daki were still in the safe range of being dead for only a minute and less when he turned them; not a few days like your mother. As such he tucked that thought into the back of his mind for later, perhaps to experiment with if he needed to. He was snapped out of his thoughts by Yuto addressing him* "Eh? Ah yes of course Yuto" *He answered before glancing your way as Tohru scooped you up to take you to bed. He didn't like the idea of not being in the same room as you to protect you but he trusted Tohru to be smart enough to grab you and come running to find him if anything seemed off. She was rather motherly despite her bodies lack of cooperation with her want to be a mother, Douma hoped that maybe this time she would be lucky.* "I have plenty of time Yuto, please tell me what is on your mind"
*She nods “Of course you can help! If you do, I can also see your artistic talent.” She teased, booping his nose. *
"I can do my best" *Douma replies cheerfully, chuckling softly as you boop his nose and he gently boops you in return before kissing your cheek.* "Well my dearest are you ready for the day?" *He asks as he straightens his outfit. Luckily Gyutaro had explained that he and his sister were used to and planning on sleeping throughout the daylight hours so Douma didn't have to worry about you stumbling across them before he was ready to explain himself*
*She nods “That would look nice! I do know how to embroider so maybe I can add a few lotus flowers on it?” She suggests, wrapping her arms around his waist.*
*He gently wraps one arm around your waist and the other around your upper-back as he listens to your excited suggestion* "Ah that would be quite beautiful, I am fairly certain we have the right materials and if you like I can try to help" *He only really knew the basics of stitching but he figured it surely couldn't be that much harder; could it?*
*She shuffled to his bathroom, putting on one of the kimonos he had gotten her. She decided to include the accessories as well, nodding at how well the outfit looked in the mirror. She left the bathroom, looking rather happy since she felt so pretty. “Now I’ll have to take Tengen’s advice and add some accessories to my eyepatch to go along with the outfit.” *
*Douma changes into his usual clothing was watches curiously as you come out of the bathroom dressed. He looks at you in awe of just how good you look* "My dear you look gorgeous" *he strides over and presses a kiss to your cheek* "Is that so? Perhaps dome embroidery will look nice?"
*She hums into the kiss, loosely wrapping her arms around his neck. She eventually pulled back with a lovesick smile, voice a bit hazy “I should get dressed, can’t stay in these sleep clothes the whole day.” *
*Douma purrs softly into the kiss, gently wrapping his arms around your waist. An adoring smile is spread across his face as you pull away.* "Alright my love, I should probably get dressed myself" *He had gotten you a couple more new kimonos with matching accessories and hoped you would notice them*
*She shivered under the kisses, leaning into him. “Totally understandable. Thank you for being there though, I really appreciate it. Most wouldn’t admit it, but I was scared..” she mumbled, pulling him down to kiss him*
*He smirks softly against your skin and presses a few more kisses to your face, neck and shoulder* "You're welcome...I admit I was scared for you myself, I have heard of instances where even hashira don't come back from missions that burn down half a district." *he mutters gladly kissing you back and caressing your face with his free hand as he sets the brush down with the other*
*She leaned into his touch with a content hum, looking up at him with her eye. “Speaking of hero, you technically helped me! If it weren’t for you being there, I would’ve been more injured. Though I am surprised the demons didn’t injure me more..” *
*He leans down and presses soft kisses to your shoulder* "Well I happened to have been on my way out of town after doing a bit of shopping when I saw you get sent flying but you were knocked out, so I kept you safe with me away from the fires and the fighting until the fight was over. You woke up shortly before those other slayers with the face masks got to us, but I didn't want all of this-" *he gestures to his eyes and hair, being the unnatural colors they are* "-To accidentally frighten them into thinking I was trying to hurt you while you were relatively helpless" *He explains before pressing a kiss to your partially scarred cheek. Though he suspected the siblings were holding back on you just a little because they suspected you were somehow involved with him*
*She raises an eyebrow, crossing her arms and standing up. She went to her bag and picked out her medicine, swallowing down the bitter liquid. “Yuck! Anyways, don’t you spoil me enough? I should be the one spoiling you!” *
*Douma chuckles before standing up and getting ready for the day* "I don't think I do, but if you want to, we can spoil each-other" *He explains while brushing his hair at his vanity mirror before turning to face you* "Besides you're the one whose got injured being a hero not me" *He remarks, walking over to you and starting to gently brush your hair*
*She reluctantly faced him more so he would get a better look. The injury was rather gnarly even with no blood and slightly healed. Her top eyelid had a thin scar before it started branching out to the inside of her eye. The inside of her eye, through the pupil and cornea, had a deep gash in it that went through multiple layers of the organ. Her bottom eyelid looked the worst, a deep gash causing the middle of her eyelid to be entirely gone and making way so that the bottom of her eye was clearly visible. It most likely hit nerves and such, which would end up leading to chronic pain that she couldn’t get rid of. “I know it’s bad but I’m just happy I didn’t lose my entire eye.” She murmured, looking at his face to gauge his reaction. “And I have to wait the entire day just for you to tell me? Booooo.” She grumbled, she hated having to wait in suspense*
*He gently stroked your cheek with his thumb and pressed feather light kisses to the more healed areas of your injury and around it wishing that he could heal you without revealing himself and either accidentally turning you or killing you due to blood-rejection* "As am I, though if you thought this would drive me away you would be wrong" *he lightly rests his forehead against yours before chuckling softly* "Mhm, unfortunately my love you will have to be patient" *He presses a few kisses to your cheek* "but for now, how about I spoil you a bit, hm?"
*She hums at his explanation. “Alright, wanna hand me my eyepatch? I don’t want you to have to see my eye. And are you sure you’re ok? You’ve been acting a bit off since I woke up.” She asked, starting to get up so she could drink some of the medicine Shinobu sent with her*
*He gently picks it up, to hand it to you* "I admit I am curious, how bad is it?" *He gently caresses your face to get a better look at you, concern etched across his face.* "I will be, I just have something to share with you but it won't be ready until tonight.." *He explains, deciding to stick to his original plan.*
*She looks at him “Why? The question was oddly specific too. Did that happen with someone you know?” She questioned, tilting her head in curiosity*
*His eyes flicked away nervously, he had not been expecting you do ask much about it or rather he had not planned for what to say if you did...He felt a bit safer for himself that you were not planning to kill him or chase him out into the sunlight but he was more concerned about what the "taking a break" part meant, would you leave? Or hide away somewhere? He didn't think that was safe in your current condition.* "Um....that much is a bit harder to explain..." *He thought about trying to find a way around explaining that he was actually asking about you and him. But then an idea struck, he could just borrow Rui's explanation of his friendship with the mist hashira but alter it slightly.* "I found a story in the temple's archives about two young boys who had become friends, one was a demon slayer but the other was turned into a demon after they had become close friends but the explanation of how it ended had gotten lost and I suppose my dreams presented me with an alternative version of it, swapping the two boys with the reversed versions of the characters from that book we were reading"
