This is Orion. Four - nearly five - weeks ago, he broke his left hind leg. We do not know how he did it, but it was a bad break. His tibia had a large torsion fracture through it, with many smaller breaks, including a few hairline fractures at the base of the bone. He was rushed to the vets and a...

I wouldn’t usually ask for money but I’m getting really desperate. I go into much more detail on the campaign page, so please give that a read.

My cat, Orion, broke his left hind leg almost five weeks ago. It’s a bad break, and he had surgery in an attempt to support the leg (with a rod and wires), but if it was deemed too difficult, the leg would have been amputated. This surgery exhausted his insurance (~£1000), but now, four weeks later, his leg isn’t responding well to the rod and isn’t healing efficiently.

We can’t afford the x-rays he requires, nor the further surgery he may need. I’m devastated. I lost my previous cat two years ago from a really horrific spinal injury and I can’t bear to see Orion in pain. 

If you are able to help even a little bit, it would be hugely appreciated, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A recent graduate of West Catholic Preparatory High School in Philadelphia has been identified as one of the people killed in the Orlando nightclub massacre.

The death of 18-year-old Akyra Murray was announced in a post on the school’s websiteMonday afternoon.

She graduated third in her class just last week. The school said she was in Florida to celebrate her graduation and visit her brother.

Akyra Murray had just signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Mercyhurst University back on May 9th.

This one really hit me hard. Akyra is the youngest victim of the Pulse massacre. Like so many other queer young adults, she was likely visiting a gay club for one of her first few times. She was in town celebrating her recent graduation. It should have been just that–a celebration. My heart goes out to her family and all of the famlies affected by this tragedy. Rest in power, Akyra.
