At the time this piqued my interest, and in all the hoopla following the Rankin wedding, I don’t remember anyone talking about it. If they did, please forgive me as I was new and still in my lurking stage and I may have missed it.
Either way, let’s take a walk down memory lane to one year ago, as I would like to draw attention to this sweet exchange between C and Tim:

I’m sure when Tim says “you both” the other half of the pairing he’s referring to is the jack of all trades and future Airbnb mega-host and not his good friend of 15+ years.
I just know that during his 7-episode arc as Governor Tryon throughout seasons 4 and 5 of Outlander, his limited screen time as a recurring character must have given him ample time to befriend a man who didn’t appear to live in Scotland full-time.
He definitely wasn’t referring to the man who he went to see play Macbeth months later and claimed how ridiculously proud of him he was. No. It definitely wasn’t the man who since 2019 has appeared frequently on his personal Instagram grid.
