ATTENTION RIVERDALE FANS
Please bear with me, this is a long, but important post that that everyone who watches the show Riverdale should read and take in.
It’s one thing to hate a couple/pairing on a tv show that you watch, but its another thing to constantly bash not only the choice that the writers of said show have made, but the actors personally with strategically selected pieces of ‘evidence’ that depicts the actor in a bad light.
So, fans of Riverdale - or any show for that matter - here’s some things you need to keep in mind:
Other people’s feelings; specifically other fans’.
You don’t know these actors personally, and just because you may collect ‘evidence’ that ‘shows’ someone as a bad person, for whatever reason, doesn’t automatically make that person bad.
Again, you don’t know them. At all. You have no idea what they’re actually like.
To reiterate: YOU DO NOT KNOW THESE PEOPLE PERSONALLY. You have absolutely no real idea of who they are as people or how they conduct themselves in an every-day setting.
You’re not a police officer, you’re not a detective, you’re a fan. Act like one.
It is not your right to paint someone in a negative light. Well, actually it is but that’s usually called slander.
I just had to unfollow one person in particular who is a Beronica shipper, who constantly hated on Bughead. And while that was bad enough, they went as far as to reblog a post creating a false narrative of Cole which is completely unacceptable. I don’t have a problem with Beronica at all, I have a problem with some Beronica shippers who shit on Bughead and act like it’s the worst thing in existence.
I urge every Riverdale fan, especially Beronica shippers, to put an end to this bullshit and create a positive environment where everyone feels welcome, to create an environment and a fandom where people don’t spread just horrible opinions about actors who are apart of a ship they don’t agree with, about people who they don’t even know.
