Tale
Lonely Widows
Widowed after her husband dies while away at war, she was left with a title of lady and a small fortune, that will get the ladies by for a year or two with many cuts to staff and dresses. With the prospects of her two young daughters looming over her will test her strength. With her title of no real significances, but still gave her some good standing in the small London town. Lady Claire Madaine Kalston and her two respectable daughters Viola Madaline Kalston age 14 and Willa May Kalston age 17. The year the young Lady Willa is on the marriage mart.
Their father was a well-respected general in the royal army. After his second victory, he was granted the title of Lord of the small town in which he lived. Now Lord Kalston, he moved his family into a moderate manor at the edge of town. Years later the royal army needed him to come back and lead the men to yet another victory. While he did achieve the victory, making it his third for the royal army, his injuries were too extensive to survive. Leaving his wife and daughters alone in the world. Lord Kalston had no sons to inherit his title his two nearly marriageable daughters need to marry well. The small fortune did not leave room for both living semi comfortably and marry who they want. They must marry well. And they aren’t the only ones that need to marry, Lady Kalston needs to remarry, and remarry very well. Theres also the chance of losing her title and having to live in poverty.
Thankfully for Lady Kalston was in luck in more than one way. For a widowed Duke was looking for a wife and a mother for his daughter after the sudden passing of his wife and new born son in child birth. While full of heart ach the Duke of Alstead Alexander Alester longed for his daughter to have a mother and for the chance to produce a male heir. Unknown to the poor Duke his lovely daughter Mariella in fact did not want her father to remarry to anyone ever again.
Story Time!!
So, this is a story from when I worked at a fast-food restaurant call McDonalds. When I was in high school my first job was at McDonalds as a cashier. I did pretty well at my job, customers like me and so did most of the managers. The only thing that wasn't good was one of the coworkers that was the same position that I was in. There was a chance that I could be promoted to team lead and so could she. She thought that she would definitely get the job because her mom was a shift manager. unfortunately, the promotion was based on performance not on who you know, and I was better at the job than she was and more liked by the team. The day that everything changed was a day like any other day. I came in for my shift then a huge storm hit. It was a nasty thunderstorm, the power went out and we had to close the restaurant. instead of leaving we were told to clean the store. so that is what we did. While we did our work cleaning, as any high school kids and college kids were, we made jokes about everything and because we didn't have to worry about customers, we did not filter what we talked and joked about. One of my male coworkers joked about throwing something into the fryers because they were off due to the weather to see if the oil was still hot enough to fry something. I had said something about throwing a quarter into the fryer would not be a good idea. Well, you know what happens when someone is listening to the conversation that you are having to see you slip up, they use something small to make up something big. That indeed did happen. Three or four days later I get a call into the manager's office to have a talk. That talk turned into me writing a statement about this so-called incident of me actually throwing a quarter into the fryer. (Never did that) I was placed on a one-week unpaid suspension for my actions and that I was under review along with the security tapes. After the week was up, I had another meeting with the manager. They found nothing on the tapes and would not tell me who told them. I was also a minor and they would not let my guardian in with me. My first job ever and I got fired because someone made a baseless accusation against me that they then found nothing to support said accusation.
Till the next one Bye!!
Hello,
Hello and welcome to my page. I am going to being telling stories both real and not real. The real stories are going to be story times with changed names will say based on a true story. Most will be from my time as a customer service worker. The not real stories will be listed as tales. They will be both short and long and some will be from the book I am writing to see how the chapters are received.
