Rin approaches Gou with a small, poorly put together plastic bag with a bow attached to it, practically shoving it in her face "...Here." he says, not even bothering to face her way or have his body in her general direction.

—⊰❀⊱ She looked at Rin, then at the bag as he shoved it in her face, and then back at Rin when she took it into her hands. Instantly, she lit up and gave one of her brightest smiles as she cradled the gift in her hands. "Thank yo—" But then she paused to blink at him as he turned away from her. Letting out a small giggle, Gou circled around her brother so that she was at his side and rose up on her tip toes to kiss his cheek.

    "—-Thank you, oniichan. You’re the best!"

"Y-yeah.. .well...If you get sick from them, this is your warning now... I can't make chocolate..." Rin turned his head away from her again, hiding the fact that his face was beet red.

"I figured he’d be fussing over you is all." He comments trying to ignore Rin’s snap at him, "It’s rare for him not to be." He’s observant enough to notice that Nitori is nearly always with Rin whenever Haru sees him and he still half expects the youth to come bursting through the door at any moment.

Rin’s next words are such a contrast in volume to his previous statement that he’s lucky he didn’t miss them entirely. It was only though listening and and the observance of the movement of his lips that he caught them. He just nods, even if Rin isn’t looking.

"What’s wrong with you, anyway?" Makoto hadn’t completely filled him in, only telling him that Rin was too ill to swim for that was all Haru had needed to hear at the time.

Rin stayed quiet for a moment. This is what he didn't want Haru to ask. If he had to admit he got like this by overworking himself, he didn't want to hear the response....So he fibbed.

"...It was raining after practice so I got a cold." he said forwardly.

It's not like the truth changes the fact he's sick, so why should he have to tell Haruka the real reason? Regardless he stared him down for a bit as if to make his point but it was obviously a lie, as if the word 'liar' was plastered on his face.

"...That's all."

Open RP - Spring Cold.

Rin gave a scowl at the girl. There’s that ‘to-the-point’ attitude that he’s grown accustomed to seeing from her. He looked down her, still disapproving of her even being here, but then again, he didn’t care enough to get into an argument with her.

"You’re the only reason I’m out of bed, idiot." he scoffs, turning around and making his way back to his bed.

He sits down on his bed, which was still warm from his own body laying it for the past few hours. Something about that feeling was comforting, but he wasn’t going to lay down quite yet.

"…Happy?"

Frowns.

"… lay down." Because she shoves you again, RinRin. Seriously, you try to care for a guy, and this is the response he gives … Granted, her form of ‘care’ thus far has been a tad rougher than needed and all, but still. It’s the thought that counts, and all that jazz, right? 

"… And it’s soup."

Referring to the thermos now, that is. Casually closes the door behind her to follow in after him, sitting down at a chair nearby before turning to face him once more. Well, she supposes he doesn’t have to be laying down quite yet, but … at least use the blankets.

"Soup...?" he questioned.

He lifts himself from his laying position and accepts the thermos quietly. His eyes widen a bit at the fact that lthe thermos itself was a bit warm, though he didn't expect the contents to be any hotter than the outside.

"...It doesn't have mackerel in it does it" he joked, a small smile appearing before quickly shifting back to his unamused expression.

He unscrews the top of the container and unwraps the utensils that were taped somewhat jaggedly onto the side of it. He gives it a whiff and suprisingly it isn't fishy smelling. With a gentle scoff, he stirs the contents about before allowing some of it to enter his mouth. 

"Hngnk!" ....It was still hot. 

Rin looks back at the girl who hadn't taken her eyes off him since entering the room, which caused him to blush a bit at his behavior. He quickly ate the rest of which was in his mouth and quickly set the thermos down.

Rin dejectedly turns away and makes for his bed.

"Do what you want." he mutters.

In a way though he was touched Haruka came over, but Rin always imagined the worst case situations in his head which clouded reality. He felt like Haru was going to belittle the sick shark for overworking himself to the point of disease. Though somewhere in his mind he knew better and that wasn’t the case. He unfolds the covers of his bed and with a plop, he returns to the warmth of his comforters.

Haru just about resists the urge to rolls his eyes at Rin’s behaviour. So much for a warm welcome, not that he’d really expected anything more. Still, he says nothing off it and enters the room, quietly shutting the door behind him while Rin retreated to his bed.

"Isn’t your roommate here?" He adds as he crossed the room and takes a seat by the desk, noticing that the first year had yet to make an appearance. Given the boy’s attachment to his Senpai Haruka found it quite surprising that he wasn’t here fussing over him.

"Do you expect me to keep tabs on him like he's my pet or something?" he barks back before letting out a nasty sounding cough, irritating his throat.

"...No he's not here." he says in a more polite tone. Perhaps that cough was karma for his rude rebuttal, at least, that's how he left.

Rin stares at Haru for a moment, admittingly feeling awkward having someone looking down at him while he laid in bed. It normally wouldn't bother him but it just had to be Haruka didn't it? Rin's eyes shift away from the raven haired boy and shifts about in his covers, concealing himself a bit more before opening his mouth again.

"...thankyouforcoming..." he mutters quietly.

—⊰❀⊱ She didn’t hesitate to embrace him, her arms instantly rising to wrap around his neck and pull him close the moment that he turned to her. If you asked her, her brother could be a real idiot sometimes. He had a short temper and was hot-headed, and sometimes he could be a little selfish and exasperating and damn well stubborn. But that didn’t really matter because he was her brother and she’d always love him anyway. Flaws and all.

    “Shh, don’t worry, nii-san. I know, it’s ok.” She’d been mad, but how could she be now? Of course Gou was going to forgive him, she always did because she hated arguing with him and it was just so impossible for her to stay mad at someone you loved that much. Gou gave him a light squeeze, gently shushing him and assuring she wasn’t mad or upset in hope that it would comfort him and cease his sobs. She wasn’t going to let go of him, she refused to, until Rin decided that he was feeling better enough to let go of her first.

Eventually Rin's tears ceased and he gestured out of the embrace to rub his eyes clear with his arms. After all that's happened these past few days, he felt much better after just being completely open with his sister about how he felt. If he were to be honest to himself, he should have known none of this would have happened if he had said all this in the first place.

With a deep sigh, the older Matsuoka regains his composure and after a beat,he speaks again.

"...I trust you. So... You have my blessings for this relationship..." he states, though this time, he's making eye contact with her, as if to prove that he's serious.

"But I won't forgive him if he hurts you...or takes you away from me..."

"There’s so much fear..! He’s not safe here!

"Gou… I———-SAID NO!!"

(CUE ICE MAGIC FROM KING RIN)

—⊰❀⊱ Insert dramatic stumbling and falling to her knees because YOU FROZE MY HEART, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! I TRUSTED YOU, HOW COULD YOU?!

1+ Came to the swim club!

Nagisa was trying to think of anything. Anything at all to say. But it seemed no matter what he would have would just upset him more. And if he had said yes to saying he would stop seeing Gou, he wouldn’t do go behind his back. He wouldn’t do that. Not to his friend. His eyes and thoughts had been completely somewhere else when Rin had began to raise his fist, that was when he snapped out of it, and felt fear grow in his eyes. He wouldn’t actually hurt him. Would he? No, no.. They still had to be somewhat of friends. If Rin had still considered him a friend. He didn’t even know anymore.

No. Rin wouldn’t hurt him. He may be full of anger and rage right now, but he wouldn’t hurt him. He could tell by his arm beginning to aim in a different direction. His eyes relaxed, but he then flinched as he punched the wall behind him. He did, however, let Rin grab him by the collar of his shirt, knowing it couldn’t be anything worse than that punch he gave to the wall. It wasn’t a second after, that Nagisa was shoved to the ground, and Rin began to leave. He should’ve just left it at that, but he couldn’t. He just couldn’t.

Standing up, Nagisa watched Rin with sorrowful eyes as he glared at him, then took off. And Nagisa taking off after him. "Rin!.." He began, but paused. What was he going to say? Should he just stop seeing Gou? No.. He couldn’t.. "I.. I’ll stop seeing Gou.." Wait.. Did he really just say that? He didn’t at all mean to.. Now if he took it back, it would just make things so much worse..

Rin stopped in his tracks once Nagisa shouted out what he wanted to hear. R-really? Just like that? No, perhaps he was just saying it to get himself out of trouble, but then again, Nagisa wasn't one to lie...

Rin turned his head to face him, the look of doubt and suspicion still plaguing his face. 

"...Good." He said firmly. "Thank you."

With that, Rin continued to walk off, a small smile forming on his face, as if he had just secured a first place trophy of some sort, but at the same time he had a feeling this would come back to bite him in the ass in the form of Gou confronting him... but he would deal with that when the time came.

  —⊰❀⊱ If her heart wasn’t broken before, it definitely was shattered now. He really felt that way? An emotion that she couldn’t quite pinpoint flooded into Gou’s body. Sorrow? Hurt? Relief he’d finally said something? Love from the fact that she was so very precious to him? Perhaps it was all of the above rolled into one. "—-And if I started my own family, then that would just mean more people who love you just as much as I do.”

     "Don’t you understand?" She stressed her words, speaking slowly with as much emphasis as she could in the hopes on convincing him that she understood and that he was just as precious to her as she was to him. Sure, they had their mother, but neither of their relationships with her had ever compared to the bond they had. It was why she’d felt so lonely when he was so far away and why she always bent over backwards just to try and get him to so much as smile. Rin meant the entire world to her.

Hesitantly, she stepped forward, one of her hands reaching out so that she could grab the tail of his shirt like a small child. Gou leaned forward, forehead resting against his back and nuzzling into him gently. “You’re the most important person in my life, nii-san. You’re the only one who’s ever really mattered and just because my attention is split to compensate someone else too doesn’t mean that you’re any less important.”

Rin knew all these things from the beginning, but something in him kept making him feel like it was all just a big impossibility... That she'd eventually forget about him, but hearing this directly from her affirmed his thoughts. The moment she pressed her head against his back it sent a wave of warmth throughout his body, and he just couldn't restrain himself any further.

"G-Gou... I--" he stuttered. Soon the shark turned around and wrapped his arms around his sister as tightly as he could, tears no longer being held back. He rubbed her back, which was incredibly soothing to him for some reason. He felt as though he had been reduced to being her younger brother as he sobbed gently in her embrace. He couldn't hold it back and it was making him tremble out of embarassment, but he didn't care enough to stop.

"...I'm sorry..." he sniffed.

"Oh… I’m such a fool, you can’t be free! No escape from my insecurities…! My feelings are adverse… Oh—Gou, please you’ll only make it WORSE!"

—⊰❀⊱ “Don’t panic, you’re still my oniichan! We can face this thing together! You’ll get to know each other better and everything will be alright!”

—⊰❀⊱ His sudden outburst caused her to freeze in place, eyes wide not with fear, but shock. Fine on her own? Didn’t need him any more? Gou blinked. Then she blinked again. And then once more as her mind turned its cogs to make sense of his outburst. "What the hell are you talking about?” Silence. She shifted in place, brushing away a loose strand of hair that had fallen over her eyes.

      “Yeah, sure, I do fine on my own. I’ve basically been on my own the entire time you were off in Australia and mom was out working twice as hard since it was just her, but I never held that against you because it’s what you wanted and I want to see you happy. If you want to look at that way, sure, I can take care of myself.”

A pause and Gou crossed her arms over her chest. “But if you actually stopped to realize it, you’d figure out that I’m not fine on my own. Of course I need you! I’ve always needed you! If I didn’t need you, then why would I even care what you thought? Why would I even be here begging you to give Nagisa a chance? You’re my big brother and I love you, and I can’t do anything without you, you idiot! I need you, and I need your support. I always will.”

Rin stayed quiet and listened with such intensity to Gou's words, all the while trying to resist the tears in his eyes that were begging to form.

"...It's--" he tries to speak, but his voice cracks just a bit. He refused to let her see him like this so he turns away again and tries again...

"not... that I want you to need me..." he speaks with a dissonant voice. By now tears were already going down his face.

"...I never felt close to mom, and dad is..." Rin goes silent for a moment.

"Dad is gone... You're all I can consider as family... and i--if you started your own family..." 

The shark suppressed his tears with a quiet sniffle. It was true that he left, but since returning he has had a hard time even imagining being away from his friends again, but his sister was someone he couldn't stand to lose, no matter how distant he may act. The more he spoke, the more he couldn't hold back, and the bigger of an idiot he felt.

"Rin.. I-.." What was he to do? Nagisa didn’t at all want to go behind his back, but he not at all, wanted to stop seeing Gou. If he had said anything else, he probably would just be pushing it too far, and end up gettin him more pissed than ever. The only really smart idea was to just stand there. And even that would’ve pissed him off, seeing as he probably wanted a direct answer. It was a devastatingly lose/lose situation. What else was he to do or say?

Not even going to respond...? That did him in. Rin had completely lost it.

Rin's right fist raised in the air, and with all the strength he could muster...

He punched the wall he had backed Nagisa into.

"..." He didn't have the heart to wail on Nagisa. As much as he wanted to, he just couldn't. He looked down at the blonde boy one more time with an intense frown on his face. He wasn't going to say anything either. If Rin's point hasn't been made clear, that he didn't accept this relationship, then there was nothing left.

He grabs the boy backed up in the corner by the collar of his shirt and forces him to the ground, turning his back to him. As Rin makes for the door, he forcefully kicks over a chair of a nearby desk which causes the desk and the other set adjacent to it to crash down with a thunderous boom.

Rin reaches the door and snaps the broom that was holding them in right in half. He gives one last look at Nagisa and scoffs before slamming the door on the way out.

"What..?"

"Every year?"

"N-no I can’t! I—I won’t even go!"

—⊰❀⊱ "Sure you can! You need to go! Because, for the first time in forever, you don’t have to be afraid! We can work this out together, me having a boyfriend’s not so bad!”

"Oh... I'm such a fool, you can't be free! No escape from my insecurities...! My feelings are adverse... Oh--Gou, please you'll only make it WORSE!"

"What do you mean you’re not…? —- What do I not know!?

—⊰❀⊱ “Iwatobi’s swimming in tournaments, so…”

     ”We’ll kind of see each other… every year. But it’s ok, just remember all the good times you guys used to have and you’ll see he’s still your friend!”

"What..?"

"Every year?"

"N-no! I can't! I--I won't even go!"

"Please go back home… Your boy awaits! Go enjoy your life just get a place..

I know! You mean well, but leave me be. Yes I’m alone, but at least you’ll be free! Just stay away and you’ll be safe from me~~~~~!”
