This house is a triangle.
Lil Eli
Also v important information Iām obsessed with animals. Specifically mine, but I donāt descriminate. Iāll probably be showing off a lot of the dogs I work with and Sadie.
So I fractured my ankle by doing the limbo...at a bar named Limbo.
Needless to say, it was probably one of the most embarrassing things I have experienced in the last few years.Ā
So my boyfriend and his coworkers and their significant others decide to take a night out.Ā
If you know me, youād know this is a rarity. Most times you can catch me in the same outfit in the same place on the couch binging something like Friends or Will and Grace.
I guess what frustrates me the most about this whole experience is that I wasnāt even the level of drunk that I should have been to fucking fractureĀ my ankle doing the limbo.
Anyway, we get a large fishbowl for four people to share, we have a few shots and weāre having a great time. Thatās about where the great time in the night ended.
āLimbo time!ā I heard someone, probably the owner of the joint, call out. Now I had to be tipsy to sayĀ āHey, yeah that sounds fun, letās go!ā So, I will give the alcohol a little credit there.Ā
I go under the bar the first time. Itās already set surprisingly low and it catches me off guard. My knee hits the floor and no one really says anything so I figure Iād give it another, better go. The second time under, I heard a pop or a snap inĀ my ankle as Iām in the middle of the bar in that back-breaking position. My ankle rolls to the other side and sprains that side. I fall and flop down the way a little bitĀ because what Iām worried about is the next people in line getting through, not fixing myself. I tried jumping back up but ended up falling on my ass again from the pain. Any bystander at the bar would be praying that my drunkassĀ was even able to find an uber later. I sit there on the floor for a little bit, just kind of acting like I belong there until some random nice guy offered me a hand. I slink away as fast as I can to find my best friend who got me back to our seating area.
Hereās where the night didnāt get any better.Ā
We had taken my friendās car because she was the sober driver. I was carried to the car where I couldnāt decide if I was more embarrassedĀ or in pain so I combination laugh/cried for about 15 minutes.
All the while in the backseat, homegirl canāt hold her liquor and is threatening to purge the fishbowl on my friendās back seat. We made it home in time for girl to make it to the bathroom with her boyfriend and my foot literally looks like Texas.Ā
Made for a great story, but ended in me being in a boot/aircast for 6 weeks and out of work. On the bright side, everyone else seems to find it pretty funny, maybe one day I will actuallyĀ find it funny and not pathetically funny. My brother is already warning me about my Christmas present this year.Ā āJust make sure your ankles are warm.ā He says.
Ā I really struggle with if this is a good story or I should have just stayed home.Ā
Sorry to disappoint, I am not a page dedicated to DisturbāsĀ āDown With the Sicknessā
Unfortunately, youāre just reading about a sick girl, but Iāll do my best to keep it interesting and engaging for you.Ā
My name is Anna, I am 23 (24 in January), I live in Louisville, KY and Iāve been chronically ill since I was 12 years old.Ā
To give you the cliffnotes, because Iām sure Iāll go into detail later, I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis at 12, suffered until I was 15. Thatās when I had a complicated and, at the time, experimental transplant of my cells. That didnāt work. Guess what? Youāre a diabetic now! Bonus, because you spent somewhere around 300 days in a hospital bed throughout your teenage years, collect a degenerative disk in the lower back. Throw in some complications, some more hospital visits, gastroparesis,Ā pielonefritis, you get the picture.Ā
Point is Iām just trying to make it out here with invisible illnesses that not everyone seems to understand. I would love for this page to be not only a diary, of things that mostly piss me off, but to help others in any capacity I can. I have been sick about most of my life at this point, and I wouldnāt have made it here without an extremely dedicated and loving family: a mother who would do anything for her child, and a father who loved to bring work home, as he was a clinical psychologist and I was sometimes his patient.Ā
