‘Love’ and Love

For the longest time

‘Love’ called me weak.

‘Love’ made me feel small.

‘Love’ told me I was worthless.

‘Love’ showed me ungratefulness.

‘Love’ hurt my heart so bad

that I was okay with dying inside.

I broke myself for ‘Love’;

calling him sweet names

giving him more than he ever deserved.

But ‘Love’ never broke for me.

And now, after some time

Love is kind

and sweet

and gentle

and caring.

Love does not hurt me.

Love does not break me.

Love keeps me safe

and makes me strong.

I realized that ‘Love’ and Love

are not the same thing at all.

‘Love’ will make you think

that he is all there is,

full of heart break and anger.

But Love is different;

He is happy and understanding,

and doesn’t ever say words that hurt.

Know the difference

because it took too long for me

to finally figure out.

Proud of You

I’m so proud of you. You are so much more than you give yourself credit for. You probably don’t hear these words often, but you are enough for this world, you are more than enough. I’m proud of you for taking that step to better your life, and I’m so damn proud of you for sticking to your gut and pushing yourself. I’m proud of you for accomplishing those tasks, no matter how big or small. Im proud of you for standing up for yourself, and choosing things that are of best interest for your wellbeing.
