The boy and father find their cart, but when they do they can not take it through the snow. This is symbolic because it is like no matter how hard they try in this post-apocalyptic world, they are always going to be one step behind, this is also where hope is lost. The snow makes it very difficult...
This is so comical because you saw the negative symbolism in the novellas well as the positive. As a class I felt like we discussed more of the hopeful point and ideas. Examples being the underground cabin, the clear water, the coast, etc. what did you think of the symbolism all relating to religion? A lot of the larger images, I didn't notice. For example, I didn't establish the "father and son" title, yet I caught the relation to Ely and the basic God conversation. All in all, what did you think of the novel? #reblog050214
