The Great Hiatus (both of them)
The Great Hiatus between Sherlock's "death" and Doyle's publication of a new novel lasted from 1891-1901, approximately 10 years.
BBC Sherlock's "The Final Problem" aired on January 15, 2017. The ten year anniversary is just a few months away.
What if they planned all along for BBC Sherlock to "die" for a full decade, only to be resurrected just like after the original Great Hiatus?
Fans then wore black armbands and mourned Sherlock... we have figuratively done the same thing for almost the same interminable amount of time.
I haven't been on Tumblr for a long time so perhaps this has been discussed ad nauseam.... Just wanted everyone to know I'm still waiting.
