It sucks that there isn't much good NEW media for kids and tweens/teens and I see a lot of people commenting on how it's because of millennials and gen z constantly vying for childhood nostalgia. However, I think a massive part of that is media genuinely used to be made for the kids AND the adults watching them with their kids so it's still funny and translates well to an adult audience. It also showed more heavy themes in a child friendly way but didn't pull punches. We very rarely get media like that anymore that teaches children how to cope and understand the nuance of heavier topics as they age and the older you get watching these pieces of media the more jokes and tones they understand there's always something new to discover with it. Then when we get reboots, because the people making them think it's just pure nostalgia and not just really fantastic media built for multiple age groups, they focus on the nostalgia bits and not the themes that made the show originally great so they almost never work well. It's corporations vying for an adult audience that can spend money unlike children while forgetting why adults still like that media, because it was built for them too, and covered a broader range of topics kids need to learn about.

All cards on the table I think SBR is one of the most impactful beautiful pieces of media of all time and the only thing that can really stand up to it is Full Metal Alchemist genuinely a no notes series I cannot find a single flaw in it
