The funniest hyperfixations have gotta be the ones where you watch something and go "this thing is cute. I like it. not sure if Id call it a favorite of mine but its definitely enjoyable at least" and then cut to a month later and its completely overtaken your life

you can see what you like in fiction, blah blah blah, projecting onto characters is fun, etc
though it really seems like i watched a completely different movie from everyone else's deadpool and wolverine. they hate each other??? logan's a short fuse who doesn't control himself???
logan doesn't attack wade or the bartender despite the insults and the manhandling. no one's afraid of him, everyone stayed put instead of running.
logan outright says "talk about something else". not "shut the fuck up", not "you are so fucking annoying". a directive to continue yapping. just not about the suit. that's literally "keep going". he listened for however long they were walking and in the car, and he was actually LISTENING. he wasn't tuning it out. he wouldn't have known about vanessa and the avengers and the previous xmen adventures if he didn't care about what wade was saying.
all the "insults" that are actual insults only happen when wade's killed someone--after johnny dies, after nicepool dies. logan calls him an asshole after the first cassandra meeting, but in the context of his yapping having just killed johnny and nearly themselves too.
but he immediately asks for his input and then lets him yap again in the diner and all the way to the car fight. he doesn't use insults at all until after wade gets johnny killed, even though wade starts out insulting him in the bar and immediately in the void with "ape". though was he insulting logan or was it a compliment to his inhuman half, designed like an insult? logan's the one who gets down on all fours like an animal in the first fight scene, after wade's said "this is gonna be good". from how easily logan takes down sabretooth, we know that fight was pure fooling around.
logan's not mad when he finds out his universe can't be fixed, because he'll happily trade his past for wade's future--twice, going in the reactor and again when he doesn't demand to return to his own universe. a world without wade isn't one he wants. he makes to walk away because he needs to know if wade will call his name, just as logan called wade's in the reactor. and again, wade's an idiot and annoying in the reactor because he's about to kill someone again--himself.
at the end he says the avengers would be lucky to have wade. that's sincere. he was going to walk off, but chose to turn around and stay with wade. not because he had nowhere else to go, but because he likes the guy he just complimented. when meeting al, wade's throwing gross nonsense and logan is FOND and laughing along. that isn't disgust or frustration.
this is without getting into the motif that "taking the piss", aka insults aka verbal assaults, is "pulling your leg"--a joke. it's not meant seriously. it's flirting, foreplay, feeling each other out: physical violence is sex; verbal violence is first base.
so a mean joke isn't seriously like that but it very much definitely IS...."""like that""", in all seriousness. if you're insulting someone, you're "giving them an excuse", a come on to fucking go. an invite to...come....at? on?.....you. wade and logan both see right through the fourth wall, so this isn't only metatextual but also literally textual. they know what they're playing at.
a joke can also be an excuse to say one thing and mean another, like nicepool claiming to be nice while actually being rude. so if you act like you're mean.....you're saving the good stuff for special occasions. for someone who wants to have a go at you. it's why wade gets all breathy flustered in the car as they're....not playing nicely with each other. you gotta be....seriously mean.... if you wanna get under someone's skin....to live rent free with them. like family does. it's a callback to dp1: if you're paying for it, then you're only renting love, it's not a real happily ever after.
there's also a motif going on with costumes and masks making you "a different person", hence why wade and logan have radically different personalities in and out of their suits/masks. it's why wade takes off his mask to say nice things that he sincerely means.

Everyone is always baffled when they find out Logan (Serious, Brooding, Angry) is with Wade (literally has never shut up once in his life) and they assume Logan spends all his time in agony, suffering through Wade's incessant ranting, or that he's an absolute master at tuning the man out
Every single one of them is so wrong
Oh Wade can be annoying, for sure, there's times where the ramblings seem excessively obnoxious, or Logan just doesn't have the energy to keep listening, and there's times where Logan wants nothing more than for him to shut the fuck up, days where it feels like his senses are just a little more enhanced than usual, or the ghosts in his mind are especially loud
But 97% of the time, Logan is listening, and even if its annoying, stupid, or something he simply could not care less about if he tried, listening to Wade talk is one of his favorite things in his life.
Logan's never been a crazy talkative guy, he often doesn't know what to say, and when he does say something it feels like it's almost always the wrong thing, he doesn't have to worry about that as much with Wade. He can be quiet, and know that Wade will fill the silence with something ridiculous and perverted and hilarious.
He remembers things, too, and that's baffling to Wade, who is very much used to people tuning him out, or simply not being able to commit most things he says to memory because there's so much so fast in so many different directions
Logan gets him, though, he's gotten very familiar with the way Wade talks, the way his brain works, he can keep up, and he cares, he doesn't dismiss Wade like so many other people.
Anyway, everyone is baffled by Logan and Wades relationship when they first find out, but anyone with half a brain who's watched then together for a while figures it out after the sixth time they watch Wade go on some crazy tirade, while Logan stares at him with the most love struck yet exasperated look on his face theyve ever seen, chiming in every now and then with small comments that leave Wade grinning or bent over laughing, the happiest anyone's seen him in a long time
Why everyone forgetting that Wade can sew? Like- he made his suit in Deadpool. That suit was a fucking good suit. He 100% makes Logan like- 13 suit variants and Logan probably thinks Wade’s got them off the TVA or Colossus or smth. And Logan’s ripped jeans mysteriously show up in his closet all fixed, and Wade’s gifting him leather gloves for him to wear while on his motorbike, regeneration be damned. And one day he can’t find Mary Puppins dog food and he opens a closet he’s never noticed before and it’s got a sewing machine and rolls of yellow leather in it and he finally connects the dots and wants to cry cause it’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for him.
Mr Howlett is one of the few teachers who commutes to the X-Mansion every day, instead of living on the grounds.
It makes him the talk of the student body, who make up all sorts of stories on where he goes off to every day. The rumors run so rampant some even claim that on their weekend trip to New York they've seen him in Central Park, walking a little monster dog.
And then one day Mr Howlett's husband, Mr Wilson, picks him up from work.
From the students' point of view, it's so wild when they find out that their gruff, stoic, matter-of-fact history teacher who takes no silly business from anyone, is married to a guy who is nothing but silly business.

I don’t think words of affirmation are Logan’s thing. Like he gags alittle at sappy love confessions and thinks they’re, like, not real (“my heart beats for you” ?? Who says that?) until he realizes that Wade needs words of affirmation and he has to swallow his discomfort and actually say those three words that make Wade so goddamn happy to hear.
Logan would literally do anything for Wade because he’s an action and acts of service guy. He doesn’t say the most profound stuff but he’ll sacrifice himself for the universe for him or wear a stupid ass shirt because Wade wanted him too. It’s all those little actions that show his devotion, but Wade is definitely a touch and words of affirmation person. He clings to words as a coping mechanism and a comfort especially in relationships “you’re crazy matches my crazy” was like a mantra to him. Did you see the heart eyes Wade made when Logan parroted his words “no you made an educated wish?”
Anyway that’s my two cents.
Ooo this is a GREAT question @rat-flavored I want to say “you’re freak matches my freak” like I’ve seen some poolverine posters say. But, at the same time, it’s too close to Vanessa and Wade’s thing, so it might not feel like theirs.
My next initial thought is a quote from the movie. But I can’t find one simple romantic catchphrase.
Maybe just Wade continually complimenting “you’re the best wolverine” when Logan does something as simple as making breakfast. Or they would bring up things they said in the void like inside jokes. Logan says “gubernatorial” once and Wade loses his shit. Maybe in more tender moments Logan says “let me have this. Let me have this” for something as simple a kiss or intimacy bc he feels like he doesn’t deserve it. Maybe the insults Logan said turn fond, calling Wade “gods perfect idiot” and a “jabbering little prick” with a smile on his face and Wade using “peanut” softly and to calm Logan down instead of rile him up.
They continually say “educated wish” for any given context.
Someone (an x-men or avenger) hounds Logan and Wade for the way they complete a mission (because they are a chaotic duo that never follow the rules separately but together they are even worse) and get on them for acting impulsively and not following the plan. Logan side eyes Wade once and just says “we made an educated wish” and Wade laughs so hard they get kicked out.
I think that they’d the couple that you can tell are best friends by all the little things they say, but I can’t pick just one.
kinda want their phrase to be 'i know you'
they can throw it back and forth with widely varying levels of seriousness. it is very versatile.
also it just gets truer and truer each time

Logan just being so… chill about Wade. Like yeah he’s sassy and mean sometimes. But their little flirty thing at the bar. “Not all of you was asleep.” Escaping from Cassandra with Wade. Waiting for Wade to wake up and not running out on him after that Honda scene…. Like. It’s sus. Until you remember Logan can smell arousal and Wade is dressed like a fucking Sex Doll. He’s just fucking into him honestly.

Both can't believe their luck while a good majority of people wouldn't want either of them for numerous and uncountable reasons. But this just is does just not compute to them because 'seriously he's perfect'. All of their friends just nod along because they're happy for them (But they know the truth)
However one thing is for sure they are perfect for each other.
