Just to test the waters

How many people would be interested in a Danny Phantom AU event in August?

Basically the plan is to have one theme or prompt every 3 days. People can either create fan content for existing AUs, or create/develop a new au or an au that needs a bit of TLC.

Void Danny

Okay, I’ve seen art and have read posts referring to Void Danny, but I honestly don’t know where he came from. Would anyone be kind enough as to direct me?

So I know that a few people have given you short answers for this, but I was sent by the DP slack to give you a slightly more in-depth description. Here goes! :D

I’m not sure if you know much about the Reverse Trio AU, but it’s where the “roles” of the main trio are swapped. Sam is the half-ghost, Tucker is a techno-goth, and Danny is an astronomy nerd.

Instead of Sam turning into Plant Sam because of Undergrowth, Danny turns into Void Danny because of Nocturne. Nocturne claims Danny as his “son” the prince of dreams, resulting in this:

I’m not entirely sure why the nerd was the one to be corrupted instead of the goth, but it’s really cool anyway.

If you’re interested in the AU, you might also like the Inverse Trio AU, which is a swap in the other direction!

Kinetic Potential AU

Summary: We can all agree that there were many things wrong with DP. Errors, inconsistencies, and whole bunch of things that would leave you irritated or just scratching your head. Good thing we have an unlikely duo to help point them out. Follow Star and Clockwork, as they watch the timeline unfold and point out, maybe not everything is as perfect, as it seems to be.

Remember Beauty Marked? Yea, I can imagine the distaste that’s gonna follow it. 

Now I want you to imagine Beauty Marked again, this time with better characterization, Sam facing consequences for entering a pageant to intentionally shame girls for liking beauty pagents(The real issue is not with the girls enjoying it Sam, grow up.), Sam not being crowned the winner, and the episode being written so much better.

I can picture a smile coming about, right?

Now take that image, and imagine that with basically every episode mid-season 2 and all of season 3.

But rewriting the episodes with better characterization is not the only thing I’m offering. 

-Better dynamics between the characters

-Perspective on what’s life like as a regular Amity Park citizen: paying high bills, having a date ruined because of ghost invasions, insurance denials and so much more.

-I’d tell you more, but I’d be spoiling you!

Kinetic Potential isn’t just about Phantom, Star and Clockwork. It’s about Amity Park as well and everyone’-living or dead-going to play a role.

Ghost.exe AU

This AU belongs to @shinobicyrus. Any and all asks will be redirected to them!

In this AU, ghosts are replaced by high-quality AI programs, many of which pose a danger to human ways of life. 

It’s sort of unclear what, exactly, half-ghosts are in this AU. Vlad seems to be a human, but it is hinted that there is more to him than it currently seems. Danny has not yet been mentioned.

Danielle is particularly interesting! She seems to be an AI that is far more human-like than any other, capable of real emotion, abstract thought, and spontaneity. Valerie, the one essentially “telling the story”, even believes her to be a real human at first, and later wonders why an AI would put so much careful calculation into looking and acting like a young girl. There is probably even more to Danielle than has been revealed so far.

In the Secret Experiment AU, Maddie and Jack knew exactly what they were doing when they put the button on the inside of the portal. They anticipated that Danny, the more foolish of their children, would step in and end up activating the portal. They consistently gather data about their experimental hybrid... 

Jeez this has so much dark potential and I personally love it.

L’Ombre AU

This AU belongs to @boopboopitydoop. Any and all asks about it will be redirected to them!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Crossover AU between Danny Phantom and Miraculous Ladybug.

In this AU, Marinette, Adrien, and Alya are the “Trio”. Marinette is the Halfa, who gained powers at 15 and calls herself Ombre (which roughly translates to “shadow” or “phantom”). Adrien is the secretly rich af love interest. Alya is the tech-savvy best friend, but also has Sam-like personality traits. 

The place of Jazz is taken by Nino, except for the fact that Marinette and Nino are not related.

Paulina’s role is split between Nathaniel and Chloe. Chloe is the popular bitchy girl while Nathaniel is the puppy crush. Both of them have a thing for Ombre.

Ghost Town AU

This AU belongs to @sopheria-mathis. Any and all asks about it will be sent to them. 

In this AU, the “Ghost Zone” refers to a walled-in town that is full of people who have been contaminated by high levels of ectoplasm. This ectoplasm, unbeknownst to the outsiders, gives the inhabitants powers.

Danny dyes his hair, calls himself “Phantom”, and runs a detective agency with an orphan named Danielle. He takes it upon himself to stop “ghosts” from committing crimes, get normal people out of the Zone, and reunite “ghosts” with their families on the outside.

When the civilians in the Ghost Zone stop complying to the demands of the GiW, who are in charge of their containment, all of their resources are cut off, even food and water. This is when powers start to show themselves.

The following is not yet set in stone:

When “ghosts” begin to die at the hands of the GiW, the slurs used to refer to them (Ghosts, Zombies, Dead Men Walking) suddenly make a lot more sense. The ectoplasm that gives the “ghosts” powers in life is exchanged for an animalistic sort of sentience that demands the “zombie” hunts down and eats anything that breathes. They can only be killed if their ectoplasmic cores are torn out.

Glitched AU

In this AU, Danny is attacked by a Trojan Horse virus while he’s inside a computer, effectively making him part ghost, part human, and part glitched code. 

Danny only really glitches out when his emotions are running high, but he also gains new powers from being a glitch. He can create viruses and cause computers to automatically restart, among other things.

Phantom Friends AU

In the Phantom Friends AU, Danny, Sam, and Tucker are all full-ghosts. Danny is the son of King Pariah Dark, Sam is the daughter of Undergrowth, and Tucker is a ghostly Pharaoh.

I got a good nice free app the other day and therefore I drew my space son Chelen. He’s a good and I’m yelling.

I need to jump back into activity now that Hell Week is cooling down, so here’s a short introduction to the Star Child AU (which could have a better name but i like that one ^u^)

Basically, Danny’s obsession was never with protecting people or fighting ghosts, or even with positive attention. His obsession has always been with space and the mysteries it holds.

This means that by ignoring his obsession in favor of fighting ghosts and steadily losing his chances of ever being an astronaut, Danny is dooming himself. He gets less and less healthy until one day, he is killed by another ghost.

Instead of fading away into nothingness like he would have if his obsession itself had directly destroyed him, Danny reformed in the Ghost Zone as a full ghost: the Ghost of Space. Unfortunately, it’s been a long time since his actual death, and there isn’t exactly anything left of humanity.

So Space Kiddo shuts himself away in his lair (though he isn’t aware that it’s his own lair or that he COULD get out if he really wanted to). He soon discovers that he has the power to create and manipulate entire planets. In an effort to become a new person more worthy of the memories he has of his loved ones, he takes a new name, Chelen (which means “protector” in the tongue of his first accidental alien race.)

Clockwork Phantom AU introduction

So just a quick note, I’ve got my main url @squirrelstone and my tv show-centric url @asexualtuckerfoley so you can find me on either, but there’s more Danny Phantom stuff on asexualtuckerfoley.

In this AU, Clockwork is the ghost of Danny when he fully dies. In the Bad Future, he was the ghost of human Danny that Dan killed, but in the main reality, he’s just Danny’s ghost. Since he’s the ghost of time, he has to exist across all time, and his timeline doesn’t always line up properly with linear time.

After Danny goes to Clockwork the second time in Masters of All Time, Jazz decides to find him and ask what happened during the fight with Dan that she, Sam, and Tucker missed since Danny won’t tell them the truth. Jazz and Clockwork end up becoming friends, though she figures out Clockwork’s true identity.

Meanwhile, Jazz is suffering from the side effects of the nanobots Vlad put in her bloodstream, and she’s going to greater and greater lengths to protect Danny without him knowing.

Ghostly Communication Headcanons/AU Materials

These are some ideas I like to use with my writing partner/girlfriend, but a few of us were expanding upon it today! Thank you to everyone who had input! Ideas are mostly from @skyereminiscing, @ninjagorocksdealwithit, @scooty-nooty and @danny-phantastic.

Cores are the root of a ghost's emotion and sense of self, so when a core makes a sound it's not able to lie. These little music-note chirps, hisses, growls, purrs, whines, static noises. So it's a set of instincts that conveys exactly what a ghost means even if ghosts don't speak the same verbal language.

I'm just picturing the lil baby ghost blobs "singing" at other ghosts in nonsensical chirps (and then screamo blobs that prefer static).

It’s a lot like how facial expressions are universal among humans! These "core expressions" are universal even amongst non-humanoid ghosts.

with things like clones and duplicates... Duplicates can convey core expressions but only if the original is feeling the core-esponding emotion. Clones that have no mind of their own can't use core expressions at all. Dani can because she developed individually, as a sentient being, while the male clones didn’t.

Core expressions are like if you were unable to fake a smile, and newer ghosts can't NOT use core expressions!

When Danny first gets his powers he thinks that he must be really easy to read but actually he's literally broadcasting his emotions. 

"am i making you angry?" *//softly growling//* "...no."

But really the first time he's truly and purely joyful after the accident and just... ppprrrrrrRRRRRRRRRPRRRRRR “what is this”

This is even if he's still half-human! he's got a powerful and functional core, but he doesn't have any control over core expressions yet. On the other hand he sometimes has trouble reading other ghosts, simply because he hasn't realized how vital core expressions are to ghostly communication.

Eventually he settles into it and figures out how core expressions work, but it's a little funny to the others that this (literal child) weird human-world ghost is basically screaming at them "IM ANNOYED" but is surprised when they make it known that they can tell.

Spectra... she becomes a HUGE problem because he's laying every emotion and reaction bare for her to feast on. Yeah. Bad times, friends.

Box Jack AU

AU where in Masters of All Time, Jack's ghost form did not look like Plasmius, but instead took the appearance of... THE BOX GHOST!!!
