Gyda smiled and shrugged, “I’m definitely putting it off for a while. Until we’re both ready because I’ll wind up throwing away something important of yours. As long as you can keep the kids occupied and tell me yes or no on things we’ll be good.” She chuckled, “but not until we’re both past the jet lag and time zone change.” She pursed her lips though at the thought of a yard sale and shrugged, “it won’t be too bad once we get everything sorted and figured out and a little extra cash stash never hurt anyone. Then we can donate the rest, maybe even donate the money to a charity. You gotta admit it would be fun to see who would buy find some of our stuff interesting enough to buy it.”
Gyda laughed knowing it was true but Torben didn’t really mean to cause the damage he did sometimes. They had learned a lot of patience with all of their children but him the most. “We’ll get you a lock. He just needs to know boundaries is all. It’ll take him time to learn just like it did back in Egypt.” Gyda rolled her eyes, “depending on the damage it may be longer than that.” She chuckled heading up stairs to catch the boys trying to hide the mess.
“Hey, guys, let’s not alright.” She said gently grabbing their hands and checking for any cuts. “You guys are lucky you didn’t cut yourself.” She gave a somber smile and looked at the broken vase on the ground before looking back at the frowning faces. “I know moving here is exciting but let’s calm down, okay? I think we all need a nap to readjust,” she already knew the groans were coming and sighed, “I know naps aren’t cool but maybe you can talk dad into letting you guys take one with the TV on? Go ask him alright.” She said following them to grab the broom and dust pan. She picked up the bigger pieces of the shattered vase that had once been her mother’s considering taking the time to repair it before sweeping up the smaller pieces and throwing them away.
She sighed once she finally made it to their bedroom, and leaned against the doorway, closing her eyes, “how much trouble did they give you?” Her brows raising as she finally opened her eyes and lurched for the bed. “Itani the easiest of them? I told Hana she didn’t have to take a nap if she didn’t want to but she was already halfway there while reading. So I’m sure we’re all pretty tired.” She flopped onto the bed, wrapping her arms under the pillow her head had landed on and breathed in the scent. The sheets were stale and had been on the bed since the last time they had been there but still held a bit of fresh scent to them. “This bed still as comfortable as I remember.”
“Yeah, you’re right, it could be fun and it’ll be a good way to go through everything and get rid of the extras all at the same time, I’m sure I’ll be much more up for it once we finally get some sleep, which I’m sure will happen eventually. I bet Kami and Viggo would help us organize it too, I guess it could be fun, and yeah, who knows who might find our stuff useful.”
“We’ll figure it out, it’s just a lot of change for him and that’s bound to get him a little wound up and you know Rashid is so influenced by his moods and then stuff like this happens. It’s not the end of the world, we’ll work it out like we did before, at least here we have a yard they can all play in and work some of their energy off, I missed that the most when we were away.”
Taking Itani to the newly set up nursery and rocked her for a little while before setting her in her crib, she settled in easily and he slipped out, only to encounter the boys, where they excited asked him about taking their nap with the TV on. “Alright guys, let’s go get set up.” He took them down to the den with some of the blankets and pillows from their room, “Okay, I’ll set up the TV you guys make your forts.” Once they were settled in with the TV on, Tereik sat on the couch with them until they were calmed down and quiet enough that he knew they would doze off, and he went back upstairs.
He peaked in on Hana who was reading, but looked like she was about to fall asleep, so he didn’t bother her and arrived in their bedroom just after Gyda. “Yeah, but the boys were pretty tired, so once I got them to lie down they faded pretty fast. I looked in on Hana and I would guarantee that she’s out by now, so hopefully we’ll all be caught up on our sleep soon.” He climbed in with her and relaxed for what felt like the first time in ages, “It’s a great bed, it was the only decent piece of furniture I owned before you moved in. Remember that first night we brought Hana home and we all slept in here together? That was one of the best days of my life.”
