"You should ask Julius where he gets his. He always looks very...put together."
â [doctor plot device] Adjusting Richter's stupid bolo tie.
He smiles fondly at Aster as he adjusts his tie, even though it didnât really need adjusted at the time. He covers the blondeâs hands with his own and moves them away from his tie.Â
"Is everything okay, Aster?" He asks, keeping the otherâs hands in his own. "This is the third time youâve tried fixing my tie. Do you really hate it that much?"
"Hm? Everything's fine! Your tie just keeps getting crooked and it bothers me a little."
"I love your tie. It's...unique. Just like you~ You'd look strange without it."
He makes a noise and nods his head in answer to Asterâs question. âYou are.â He confirms. Who in their right mind would feel safe around someone who almost killed them? It doesnât matter if he hadnât been in his right mind. It still happened.Â
ButâŠhe was grateful Aster still trusted him. He really was.Â
"Aster, why did youâŠ" He trails off, unsure if he should actually ask this. He wasnât sure if it actually happened, or if he just imagined it.
"Maybe we should talk somewhere else." He says, smiling as he reaches up to poke his nose. He then folds his hands behind his back and turns, starting to walk back down the hall.
Avoiding a question? Aster? Nooooo.
He does look over his shoulder, still smiling to make sure the other is following.
"You have to get out of here! He already hates you, I donât want him getting the wrong idea!" He says, as he throws Alvinâs shirt at his face
"Was it really so hot last night you had to strip?â
"Well, yeah!" He rushes to pulls his clothes on, trying not to panic. "You radiate heat like none other. What else was I supposed to do?"
He sighs, before offering an apologetic smile. "Sorry Alvin." He stands - looking around for Alvin's boots.
"Ah, here you go!" He hands him a single boot. "Still, you didn't have to throw your clothes everywhere." He plops back down on the bed, watching him get dressed.
"Sorry I can't offer you breakfast or anything."
He sighs, but he canât help but smile. âYouâŠYouâre such an idiot.â Itâs not even an insultâŠitâs so full of affection and trust, not something he allows himself to show very often.Â
He bumps Asterâs forehead with his own. Aster was right. That couldnât have been him. Heâd never hurt him, and he had to keep telling himself that, but he didnât know how Aster could feel so comfortable around him after that. UnlessâŠhe didnât, and he just wanted to help, so he put up with him to do so, butâŠ
This wasnât a time to doubt himself. He couldnât. He had to be strong. Besides, he knew Aster, and that just didnât seem like something heâd do. Aster was too good to do something like that.Â
He reddens as Richter rests their foreheads together, but doesn't move. How often did the other show affection like this after all? He didn't want to ruin it...
Instead, he closes his eyes and smiles, enjoying the closeness - not caring who might walk by and see, and definitely forgetting whatever it was they were talking about before. "Are you sure I'm the idiot?" He asks, trying hard to remain still.
After all, Richter had to be some kind of moron if he thought Aster could ever hate him.
"Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?" [dr-plot-device]
"I suppose I can. Why is this relevant?"
"Just uhm...just curious. For science. You know."
"I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." [dr-plot-device]
"I think so too!"
"I'm so glad~! Now..."
He leans in close, without permission, taking Asbel's face in his hands and staring intently into his one violet eye.
"You must explain to me the phenomenon occurring in your eye! It's lovely! Is it a spirit?" He gasps as the red around Asbel's pupil shifts and focuses, "Oooh! What did that do? It felt as if something was looking at me!"
"Holy shit! he's on his way over here right now, he CANNOT see you!" [dr-plot-device]
"W-what!?" He could practically feel his blood run cold. "I thought you said Richter wouldnât be coming here this early!" He leaps out of the bed, making a frantic search for his clothes.
"You have to get out of here! He already hates you, I don't want him getting the wrong idea!" He says, as he throws Alvin's shirt at his face
"Was it really so hot last night you had to strip?"
Richterâs got 99 problems and all of them are because of Aster.

"Didnât doâ" He cuts himself off, glancing around the hall. They were alone, but who knows who could overhear in one of the rooms. Especially the Director just beyond the door.
So quieter, he continues, âAster, you canât pretend nothing happened.â He doesnât put up a fight when the blonde drags him away, but he still canât bring himself to look at him. âYou shouldnât be here. IâWhat if Iââ He canât even say it. He doesnât want to believe heâd do something like that again, but the possibility still stands.
He shakes his head...reaching out and taking his hand. "I'm not pretending it didn't happen. But blaming yourself for it is wrong..." with his other hand, he reaches up, gently taking his chin, to turn his head so he can see his eyes. "What we have to do now is find out what happened, so we can make sure it doesn't happen again. To you or anyone."
"You won't hurt me. I promise...let's figure this out, together."

"Well, I certainly wonât stop you, my new cute little friend."
"Not just the ladies, my cute little friend."
"Julius Kresnik, are you trying to tell me you're a player? And here you seemed like such a gentleman~"

"Well, I certainly wonât stop you, my new cute little friend."
He leans back, wiggling his eyebrow. âHow was that for dirty?â
"Is this how you seduce the ladies? No wonder you're so popular."Â
âȘ [dr-plot-device]
"Well, I certainly wonât stop you, my new cute little friend."
He leans over, purring lowly in Asterâs ear.
"Ooh~! Julius, that tickles!"
He looks away from Aster, unable to look at him for too long without the guilt overwhelming him. He scowls at the door as if this is its fault. âI donât even know what Iâm going to say to him,â he admits pathetically. I donât know what to say to you.
"I canât tell him what happened." He should, but he canât. Theyâd execute him without a second though.Â
"Exactly." He takes his arm, pulling him from the door. "So how about instead of blaming yourself for something you didn't do, we figure out what actually happened, so it doesn't happen to anyone else?"
"For someone so brilliant you can be so foolish when it comes to yourself, do you know that?" He lets go of his arm once they're out of the way of the director's door. "This isn't just about you and me now. There could be something dangerous loose in the school. We have to figure out what it is and stop it. Okay?"
He steeled himself, his hand hovering over the knob to the directorâs office. He needed to go in and put in a request to be transferred to the underground labs. The ones where he spent most of his childhood, butâŠ
He would need a good excuse as to why he wanted transferred, after Aster had put so much effort into getting him out. The Director wouldnât just transfer him on a whim, but what could he say?Â
He couldnât tell him the truth. He didnât know what he could say.Â
Movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention and he turns to see who was there. He freezes when he sees Aster, and he waits to see what the other will do.Â
The blonde approaches him with purpose. It had been a day, and he'd had ample time to recover. He knew exactly what Richter was up to and he knew exactly where he would go.
"Richter stop." He says, not even bothering with pretending otherwise. "Why would you go to the director before coming to me?" He stops in front of him, one hand resting on his hip. Did Richter really intend to simply transfer without a word to him? Did he really think that would solve anything?
Did he think he'd let him?
