The way he talks about them is beautiful
um ok so i know ryan's scar isn't on the ear with the earring but let's pretend it is for aesthetic/dramatic purposes (i really love the earring and wanted to include it)
time-lapse and some more stuff below the cut:
Before the pool ends i want to you give a chance to relate to Hunter:
Did you grow in a ultra conservative Christian house?
Did you try to make you family happy denying who you are?
Were you at some point of you live in an absolut denial of you gender/sexuality?
Did you wanted a "normal life" even when you knew that will not make you happy?
Did you had feelings that you "should not have"?
Did said feelings overwhelm you at the poin that the only way to release them was violence?
At some point of you live crave for a conection so strongly that you formed a harmfull relashionship with some else who did not love you?
Did you family who supposedly loved you, harm you in the worst way?
Did people around of you whatched in silence while this happend?
Did you feel that nobody in you life would care for you?
Do you work in a shitty job where you are just ohter number?
Were you unnecessary mean to someone wecause you not feel enjoyment in anything?
If you say yes to at least one of them please give a bit of empathy to Hunter, he wasn't perfect far of it. But he deserved a chance to improve.
#Hunter deserved better.
Thanks for reading.
A reminder to the old and new Leviticus fans:
Hunter’s storyline is absolutely heartbreaking.
A pastor’s son who knows he is loved by his parents.
A teenager who is just like any other in his small town, who likes to play basketball and has a part-time job.
A brother who confides in his sister about most things and plays in the church band with her.
A boy whose only relationship was with another boy he grew up with, a boy who he could never admit nor accept he had feelings for.
A victim of homophobia so deep that he was put through a violating conversion tactic with the one boy he had experienced everything with.
Hunter, with a piece of himself stolen, was tormented by his feelings for one boy.
And then he was murdered by something wearing that boy’s face.

as usual, there's the time-lapse and some rambling below the cut:
Hunter..
I have to talk about this, but the way some people, mainly on Twitter, demonize Hunter too much. Yes, he's a jerk and doesn't justify the shitty behavior with that poor girl in the school scene (and naim. If in the scene that was removed from the movie does it still count as canon?) but many treat him like he's the worst character ever. The point of Hunter's character is his tragedy that homophobia kills people. He never accepted himself and that isolation he felt after being outed. Put yourself in his shoes for a moment: his father was a pastor of the Church and his entire life he was under pressure from his parents to be that model of a good "Christian." Logically, being gay always had that internal battle between being himself and what his parents expected of him. This is demonstrated in his internalized homophobia, as he chooses to deny everything and be in a constant state of denial of who he really is. and the only way I can be with another man is through violence as a form of punishment. When the movie came out and I saw the spoilers and the way people talked about Hunter they made me think he was the worst person possible. Imagine my surprise when I saw the movie and the boy has like 5 minutes on the screen. I just felt bad about his death. As a gay man, I myself relate a lot to his internalized homophobia, I can't understand how people make fun of his death, even Naim had more empathy for him than some people. I don't understand how people hate him so much, his whole life until the end was a tragedy. and people make fun of a death caused by homophobia. Hunter deserved better, but that's the point of his character that homophobia kills. Luckily Naim and Ryan have each other. If they hadn't, I would end up as a hunter. What horrified me most was seeing people from my own community mocking his death. He died thinking that no one loved him, he really died thinking that the real Ryan killed him.
Even while listening to music, I can't stop thinking about them.
