Returning Home(Open)

The moment his fire Empress had seen him he knew that he was in for it. This is what he had been dreading walking up to his home. He deserved it for being such a fool. He should have sent something, anything to let them know he was alright… but he knew Seyuya would have been at his side within a week. She was far too stubborn to see that even in his maddened state he could potentially kill her. That was something he never wanted to happen… So he hid in silence trying to come back to his mate and child.

“I’m sorry my love… I should have been here for both of you.”

Now even as she yelled at him Nobunaga couldn’t feel anything but shame… and happiness. Shame at leaving his family alone but joy at seeing Seyuya after so long… It was then he spotted little Lyndi poking her head out of a corner. She had grown so big in his absence…

Nobunaga was distracted from his thoughts when his wife kissed him. Even after all he had done, all the worry he put her through, she forgave him. He was far from being out of the doghouse but it was still enough. Tears welled up in the Emperor’s eyes as he embraced his wife after so long. Her jab at his stubbled cheeks and dirty clothing forgotten. “I love you Seyuya… Thank you…”

“Yes well... I love you too, idiot. I left you more than enough work to do as well, for when you’re all nice and ready.” She purred softly and nuzzled against him, quite possessive now that he was back. She certainly would have hunted her mate down stubbornly, too attached now.

“There’s been a few changes in staff, but the first thing you will probably attend to after this are the pair of half-starved degenerates I locked up. Some interesting attempt on Lyndi’s sweet life... I would have just killed them, but I felt you may have something to say about that if you returned before they wasted away down there.”

A huff from the woman before she glanced over to the doorway. “Lyndi dear, I told you to come out if you are going to listen. We do not sneak around.”

The girl peeked out again before stepping around the side, tugging at the hem of her shirt nervously. “Yes mama...” She stared at Nobu for a moment before inching over quietly. If they were done fighting then she wanted to say hi. “...Welcome back, Papa~!”

Returning Home(Open)

The Emperor licked his lips nervously as he stared at the home he left so many months ago. During a routine extermination of a bandit camp his fell magic overtook his mind from his abusing it’s power. Once Nobunaga awoke from the state he found everyone slaughtered on both sides. Blood covered him and he could taste the distinct flavor of meat in his mouth.

After emptying his stomach, which held something looking like an eye and chucks of some poor sods face, Nobunaga knew he needed to something to seal or control himself so  he would never lose himself to his fell blood again. While it wasn’t ideal Nobunaga left knowing that his departure would hurt his family… But he would not risk going back and putting them all in danger.

Finally after close to three months of searching for answers he found the reason for his slow descent into insanity. His dragon side needed to let out. Before he had let it shorts bouts of freedom with his partial transformations. It had gotten a taste for freedom and it needed more. Only one thing could help him with that; a dragonstone. If he didn’t gain one then he would turn into nothing more than a feral beast. There was only one problem… The power of a dragonstone was never meant to hold his fell magic. They were meant for natural manakete or ones born from Naga.

Thankfully Nobunaga immersed himself in the dark arts when trying to save his home. He knew exactly the spell to corrupt an holy dragonstone to his use. The preparations took over two more months to create but it was worth it. Immediately after using it to turn into a much smaller version of Grima Nobunaga felt the madness  clear from his mind. He could go home…

And now here he was. Standing in front of his home after six months of being missing in action, presumed dead. Fear gripped his heart as he raised his hand to open the door. Would his family forgive him for disappearing? Would they understand he left to protect them from the dozens of times he had lost control of himself? Did they find someone else in the time he had been announced dead? All these questions and more ran through his mind as he pushed the door open. Hearing someone in the kitchen Nobunaga cleared his throat before giving a short greeting. “I’m home…”

“I could have shown you how to make one!”

The fire dragon was was nothing short of enraged as she held herself back from outright striking her returned mate, their young daughter peeking around the corner to get a good look at whatever they were arguing about. She’d taken long enough to hear his explanation before launching into her small rant, practically snarling through fanged teeth.

“I swear to high heaven if you ever pull such a stunt again I will hunt you down and skin you alive myself! ‘For my own good!?’ We are partners, you should have trusted in me to help you!”

Another huff and the last of the smoke cleared from her breath. Arms crossed the small woman’s expression softened a bit and ears relaxed slightly. “Buuuut.... welcome home. You could have at the least sent a letter or something. I had a difficult time explaining to Lyndi why you were gone for so long when I knew not the reason myself.

You should probably go apologize to your child and find a way to make it up to her. She has your fell blood too you know, finding that you ran away because of it could upset her quite a bit.”

And finally the woman had calmed down, brushing her hair back over her shoulder and standing on her toes to kiss him. “But first get something to drink and wash up. You are a unholy mess and it is entirely disgraceful.”

The disdain in her voice was obvious to all who heard it… Yet it did nothing to bring the Emperor’s mood down. Nobunaga had felt her body react to his kiss. While his pet would like to put up a much larger fight he knew her body already surrendered to his will. It was after all their instinct to find a powerful mate and he proved to be the most powerful of them all…

“Well then lets be off my mate~” Without missing a beat Nobu kept his arm around Seyuya’s waist leading her as if they were a pair of lovers. If it weren’t for the look of discontent on the red dragon’s face some could mistake them for a couple. 

While Nobunaga might be half human, that side wanting nothing more than to twist the woman to his desires… His Fell blood kept her as more than that. She was a worthy mate to bare his children. One who he could spend centuries with… And None would take her from him…

‘Mate’

The dragon felt her face flush a few shades redder and she nearly choked on air at that word, having far too much difficulty in not keeping her gaze focused straight ahead rather than acting like a flustered maiden.

Royalty, especially warriors of her family had better composure than that. Barely. Despite her situation she managed to keep her chin up even if it made the collar all the more visible.

“You are right, my Lord. It would be best that I eat properly, for I have not in some time.” Although much of that was refusal on her own part as swallowing her own dragonstone had caused more than a little distress and loss of appetite for the manakete.

The way Seyuya fought against her instincts was making his dragon side… hungry. Her purr as she accepted his touch made him want to take her right in this hall. Guards be damned. Nobu could finally understand why Kovac was so interested in this woman… But he would wait. Tonight she would be his and she would need her full strength to handle it.

Nobunaga’s hand lifted to the side of her face gently caressing her cheek. His thumb brushing against her ear purposefully to gain her attention. As she looked up the Emperor stole a kiss from her sweet lips. A small taste of the night to come. 

It only lasted a moment but it stirred the fire within him. Leaning back Nobu licked his lips as he stared into her eyes hungrily. “Before I take you right here and now lets retire to the dining hall. I want you at your best before tonight~”

Red ear perked up at his touch and she glanced up just in time for his lips to meet hers. With a small yip and shudder she did her best to keep her gaze locked with his, unable to default into looking away when doing so would concede that he was indeed greater than her.

A small snort from the woman at his suggestion, irritated as ever now. Although she held no shame in her body she simply despised being dragged around and ordered about like some dog.

Finally she nodded, reaching up to fix her frazzled hair from the fight. “Lead the way then, master.” Still going to lay highly on the discontent in that word even if she’d keep her promise in calling him that without the snark. Though there probably wasn’t a way she could say it that wouldn’t amuse him she figured, so might as well go with the way that amuses herself most.

Athos was very happy to see the princess return to his territory. "Welcome, Seyua. To what might I honor this visit? Just came to visit me or do you need some assistance young one?" He always had an open ear to this young one's requests. She was splendid company, so she deserved as much.

“Ah, it is nothing major, I just wanted to get a bit of time away from the family. I believe it is only fair, given the long break Rex took on his soul-searching journey.

Lyndi and Umbra are truly quite the handful but they are learning fast.”

"Ah… I see. I trust you have learned to abandon the idea of defeating me in combat?" Honestly the Emperor could care less what relationship she had with his old friend. She belonged to him now. Her past no longer mattered. 

At her calling him master Nobunaga licked his lips. Oh yes he was going to enjoy having his proud lesser dragon as his slave. The way she said it with that growl of hate sent a shiver down his spine. 

Not letting go of her hand he pulled the smaller woman against his chest. His predator like grin on his lips as he looked down upon Seyuya’s cute snarl. “Ah but don’t forget the second part of the conditions my dear…” For a brief moment his eyes flashed yellow once more. “Tonight you are mine”

Another faint growl from the woman as he pulled on her hand and guided him against her chest. Her face was most certainly red right now, a mixture of anger and embarrassment at the situation.

"I..."

--Am going to tear your tongue out, the very second you lower your guard for long enough I shall tear out your heart. Of course it was never that easy between dragons and being around one that so outclassed her continued to send a flurry of mixed signals due to instinct.

How irritating to not be able to completely overcome nature.

"--have not forgotten. I keep my word." Damn predator. As if she had a choice, the way he smirked at her this whole time had said more than enough for her to know that. With a slight huff she pressed her body against his and let out a rough purr that may as well have been a growl.

Her surrender was a surprise for the young Emperor. He had expected her to get back up on shaky legs to challenge him. To give him fight rather than just give in… Perhaps she wasn’t the dumb pet that he thought she would be. Nobunaga tossed his sword to the side not caring where it landed as he approached his pet. “Is that so? Well I must say I am a little disappointed my dear…”

His tone seemed condescending but rather than his usual cocky smirk he had a genuine smile on his lips. Though you could easy tell there was a small amount of arrogance on the corner of his lips as if waiting for a chance to turn back into his usual smirk. “But it does show you are willing to learn from your mistakes. More than I expected from a bounty hunter who failed to capture one pathetic slaver…”

Stopping in front of her he held out his hand for her to grab. “Come take my hand and rise from the floor. You may not have struck me but you have proven yourself worth more than a dog at the very least.”

She let out an irritated huff at his words, biting back a snarky reply and instead choosing to offer explanation.

"I did not fail. Tch... there was more fortune to be had in our 'relationship' by allowing him to live. It was a steady source of work." Though she had clearly pushed her luck a bit too far and the scoundrel had finally put an end to their back-and-forth symbiotic relationship.

Red ears flicked back up then back against her head as she resigned herself to follow his direction and take his hand to rise to her feet. Worth more than a dog? She'd better be.

"I do understand when there is not even the most miniscule opportunity for victory. I did not survive so long on naivete, m--" A growl and the word caught in her throat. This was going to take some mental gymnastics to deal with. "master."

His dark laughter at her fear rang through the halls of the training area seeming to echo all around the room. The mighty proud Seyuya was now quivering at his feet. She tried to mask her fear with anger but it was clear that she was failing. 

"Indeed my little drake, I am. Fell blood runs through my veins. But worry not…"

The Emperor bent down to her eye level reaching out a clawed hand to caress her cheek. The sharp edge of his claw taking any softness that the touch would usually give. “You shall not come to harm… unless you submit to me.”

Nobunaga left her side before she could give an answer. Instead he kicked her sword to her side letting his magic release returning him to his human form. “Or does your blood still burn for a chance at winning your freedom from the dark dragon who holds your chains?”

There's no way.

She glanced aside from him, hands clenching to fists. Challenging him head-on would be an impossibility. The only hope was to bide her time and wait for an opportunity, one that could possibly take years to surface.

One that she would have to hold out for as long as possible, rather than give in entirely and allow the fire in her to die out early.

As much as she yearned to fight, the outcome right now would never be in her favor. No! She didn't want to spend her years indoors as nothing but a glorified lapdog, but... what choice did she have?

"Nghh..." A scowl crossed Seyua's lips as she bit back every harsh comment in her mind before finally her posture relaxed. "...I cannot win. That much is clear." And although he was a person worthy of being called 'master' that smug attitude made her want to tear into him, made her despise him.

Camps always scared Nowi, but now that she was in someone’s arms, she felt safe. She wiped away the tears from her eyes and nuzzled against Seyua, giggling slightly before responding, “Oh? Well it doesn’t matter! You can take me away from this bad place and take me to mommy and daddy right? You’re the bestest Auntie in the world!” Snuggled in tight, the little dragon looked at her savior more closely, noticing some things about her, the first being her appearance. “Wow! You sure are pretty Auntie! Am I gonna grow up to be like you? What’s your name?”

The little girl was easily distracted, it seemed. While this was likely why she had spent most of her life in bandit camps, Seyua might consider it a blessing that she was giggling and asking questions instead of crying about the events of her captivity

"Mmm, well not entirely like me." The manakete chuckled as she held Nowi tightly. "You will be very pretty though, even if you do not look much as I do."

She glanced around the Shepherd's camp and smiled softly, realizing that perhaps Nowi could not recognize her friends as she had herself.

"Your mommy and daddy are quite busy right now, someplace far away, so they sent me to watch you until they are able to see you again. You do not have to fear the people here though, they are my friends as well."

She leaned forward and nuzzled the girl's cheek with a fond smile. "My name is Seyua. I am glad you found a place full of friends, I was worried I would have to fight everyone away to rescue you!"
