look,,, i'm seeing a lot of people making adopts, and i may have been inspired,,, but im a dog person so--
theyre very based off nurikabe, a yokai that literally turns itself into a wall just to be annoying, which reminds me of my german shepherd napping in the hallway (a truly immoveable object)
IF enough people are interested (comments/reblogs/etc) i'll make them adoptable, so this is kinda an interest post, i know this is the Cat People website but i love ouppies,,,

I still dont have any internet at home and i just had a dentists appointment to remove a tooth a few hours ago, but heres some cloud practice with a lil Dragon Donnie that i recently finished <3
It was rlly fun to shade this one, i love working with warmer sources of light.

With all the adoptable creature blogs appearing, ive been hit with motivation and inspiration to give it a go myself, just for the fun of it!
For those of yall who might know about my Totally Feline Fine (TFF) AU, Leo is reincarnated into a yokai cat named Havoc, that i decided is the ROTTMNT universes version of a living Komainu. Ive kept allot of the species and world-building lore to myself so far, and i think its time i share some of it.
I plan to make a few adoptable Komainus over the week and post them when i get my internet back :D
THIS is a Komainu:
Their defining features are:
Large ears that are bigger than their skull
Tusks
Long plumed tail
Prehensile feet with 4 digits
They have short fur, but commonly grow long fur down their spine and a thick mane around their neck
Every Komainu has a blaze on their forehead
No visible gender dimorphism
They all have portalling abilities, but their portals are so small that it often looks like theyre teleporting instead
They are extremely intelligent and can understand the human language, but they dont have the ability to speak it
Komainus make chittering, meowing and yipping sounds
Their behavior and appearance is like a combination of a cat, fox and a dog
On average their height is between 1 to 2 feet when they reach adolescence, but they never actually stop growing after that point. A Komainu can reach up to 4 feet tall at the shoulder if they live long enough, which can be up to 50+ years.
Komainu in the Hidden City are believed to be "sacred guardians of protection".
Superstitious people leave offerings for them because rumor also says that a Komainus presence brings protection and safety to the people who live nearby. Theyre a sign of good luck and prosperity.
Their portalling ability is widely useful for the Komainu to hunt down rodents and other yokai pests.
^ people love to befriend them, hoping to make the Komainu want to stay by their residence for both of these reasons.
Small trinkets and offerings of food are frequently left out for Komainus, which encourages them to stick around.
Some pirates, smugglers and the like have been known to trap and use the Komainus portalling abilities against their will.
Most people believe that its bad luck or an omen when a Komainu is harmed.
Komainus are MY OWN made up fantasy creature, with the species name and lore inspired by history and mythology that has come from researched information in real life. This species is NOT free to make your own (only i can make them) and im not affiliated with anyone else who designs their own interpretation of a Komainu <3

This is some time after Kendra gets mutated into a dragon! Shes been constantly trying to mess with Donnies life and be the biggest pain in the ass she can, but shes also been trying to escape/run away from them at any chance she gets, despite Donnie and his brothers doing the best they can to give her somewhere to stay while Donnie tries to figure out how to reverse the effects of the oozesquito bites.
She finally got access to Donnies tech wings, stole em, and immediately flew away. Leo is the fastest flier, so he went after Kendra.
