It Starts with Us

Our Universe exists because of them.

We know their story. We have their love. We are their Book of Life in this Universe and we will give them so many happy endings.

Good Omens Finale Spoilers (kinda?)

I think there's something to be said about loving what we were given. Yes I wanted a kiss. Yes I wanted them to run off together, former demon and angel. But looking at what we got.. isn't it still something absolutely, ineffably beautiful?

Crowley and Aziraphale made that choice to start the universe anew with the belief that they wouldn't find one another again because they wouldn't exist. So in their "last" short moments, they stood side by side holding hands, confident in one another, loving one another. And then they were gone. They didn't need a definite good-bye because they wouldn't be alone when it ended, they'd be together.

And then, by some miracle, they are existing (although not totally the same) and they find one another. A meeting between two beings on their own side, happening completely by chance, just as it had before. The only difference being they acted on their feelings quicker because of their mortality. As an angel and demon, they had constantly been focused on the infinity of the universe and thwarting Armageddon from making it finite. But now they themselves are finite, so they choose each other, until their days come to pass. They don't know what comes after life, only that at that point in their lives they have each other and love each.

They are loving what they have and not pondering what could have been or will be.

To me, this is the kind of love for the universe that is the truest and most real form of beauty.
