dear homophobic dan and phil fans,

todays video was something new. it was a very open video about dan expressing his thoughts and feelings. he told us about how he’s been recently, where he’s trying to take his life. what he’s ready for, what he wishes he could do, where he plans to try and take himself to try and fulfill his life. dan said he wanted to go back to university, he said he wanted to try and be his best self. he did say, however, that he basically liked sucking dick. 

dan saying this is the biggest step he could possible take for the moment on becoming more open about his sexuality. i (and thousands of others) am very proud of dan for finally trying to be himself. for dropping his old branding and trying to embrace his new self. he is a great role model and lgbt+ representative and we need more people like him in the world. 

if you decide to not support dan anymore, fine. that is your choice. you are not obliged, however, to say things that are homophobic towards him, or say negative things about what dan does in his spare time. shaming him for liking sex with men, is not okay. shaming him for being lgbt+, is not okay. calling him homophobic slurs, is not okay. dan howell is on his path to living HIS best life, and you should not be one to put down other peoples happiness and shame them for things that make their life feel more worthwhile.

dan howell chose to share an important part of his life with us today in a very important video. dont you fucking dare put him down. instead, go take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself if youre living your life in a positive way. dan is one hell of a person and i am proud to call myself a fan.

can someone please explain to me why some people think it’s okay to force heterosexuality down dans throat when he says something that strongly hints at him not being straight or even upright says in a video hey i have a crush on a women and also a man (his diss track), yet when someone in the phandom points it out and says ah hey look dan likes both male and female that’s so cool!! we’re suddenly forcing bisexuality or homosexuality onto him because we want phan to be real ????
