I finally had some inspo last night to write about everyone’s fighting class for my meta so yay! This is what I consider everyone would be, if we treat the Evanuris as “companions” in a Dragon Age game.
Elgar’nan: The Beserker. A warrior that gains a reputation for being unstoppable on the battlefield as they fly into a blind rage, gaining the strength of what seems like a hundred men. He stands at the head of an army for no one ever wants to get in his way. It would be no surprise he would become associated with vengeance. While he might always be at the front, it doesn’t mean he is best suited to rule anything, but his popularity and place in history propels him there anyways.
Mythal: The Champion. Someone who rallies those around her, who leads the way like a shining beacon to be followed. She is the shield and destroys the enemies of those she has sworn to protect with a righteousness that inspires hope and strength. Though Elgar’nan gets much of the credit for winning the war, it is Mythal that ensures their victory with her care and cunning, and her continued, level headed leadership that sees Elvhenan prosper for years and years and years.
Andruil: The Reaver. She does not kill but devours. Andruil learns to tap into the power of blood and death to fuel her fury in battle and is often the last one standing or the one they unleash when desperate. Her prowess in battle is unmatched as she is proficient in many weapons, but her favorite is a giant bow decorated with the bones of those she has killed. She grows stronger, finding new, dark ways to enhance her power. It is a battle to keep the pain and horror from rotting away her life from the inside out.
Sylaise: The Bard. When Mythal cannot rally the troops, Sylaise is there to uplift and inspire with her beautiful voice. It is said that trees can grow from it, that it makes rivers flow again and heals wounds. It is also deadly, singing fire into being to scorch or turning sweet to ensnare them. None can resist her charm, one way or another, and for this it is easy to worship her. When her voice cannot do the job, she is just as skilled in spilling blood by other means. With connections forged from diplomacy and daggers, she has her own network to rival Dirthamen’s.
June: The Artificer. A master crafter that supplies the group with new weapons, traps and tricks, but always keeps the best for himself. If they do not have what they need, he will make it, and he always comes up with a plan to attack or defend. These plans are not always humane, but it doesn’t matter when the fate of the world is at stake. He thinks outside the box, and sometimes outside reason, but his creations turn the tide of battle and of the war. More on June.
Dirthamen: The Assassin. He deals in shadows and secrets, slips into the places no else can, like behind locked doors and between the ribs. As clever as June and even more willing to spill blood, there is no puzzle he can’t solve or trap he can’t disarm. Charming like his twin, especially while poisoning drinks. He has a large network of spies that feeds him information and keeps them one step ahead when it’s truly needed. Afterwards he becomes the spymaster always collecting knowledge from anywhere and anyone, whether they will it or not.
Falon’Din: The Necromancer. They do not become known as the god of the dead for nothing. Perhaps just as feared as Andruil, they are the first to learn how to manipulate the bodies and spirits of the dead, and the greatest of all time to do so. It is something terrifying to have your fallen comrades rise and turn blade against you, as their enemies learn. Falon’Din is also exceptionally beautiful and charming, and enjoys having control of the living and dead. Maybe too much. More on Falon’Din and Dirthamen.
Ghilan’nain: The Shapeshifter. Joins the ranks after a rather amusing incident of mistaken identity. She can turn into any matter of animal, from a small insect that can sneak through locks and crevices, to a giant bear that simply knocks walls out of the way. Beasts of the wild follow her will, act as messengers or spies, vanguards and tanks in battle, for she loves them more than she cares for elves or others. Not only can she shift, but she can also shape, creating new animals both wonderful and terrible.
Fen’Harel: The Spirit Healer. A spirit that forms itself into being when Mythal needs some desperate help. He still has a strange but great connection to the Fade and is able to call upon his old kin to help heal as well as assist in other ways, from spying from the Fade or undermining enemies from within their dreams. Still new to this whole body thing during their journey, he discovers his powers to manipulate the Fade go beyond healing to creating forces and nightmares too.
Of course it seems like they all had magic too, so that would surely influence the classes to be something different than current age ones, but I doubt everyone was solely just a mage. Whoever may have been the PROTAG of the “game”, I don’t know. Perhaps there was a 10th Evanuris we don’t know about…;) Eventually I’ll write my backstories and follower meta for everyone else, but I had to get all this out or explode.
