>>☀️>> “And what are these?”
With a mighty heft, Lux pulled the two swords from among the treasure hoard, immediately sensing the great power behind them. The vault had been the property of a powerful and bloodthirsty king … who had drawn Lux’s ire by attempting to make her kingdom part of his. Instead, she had dethroned him, putting a council of more sensible people in charge, wise men who would both rule their people more justly and know better than to pick a fight with the Queen of the Elements.
But now … she hadn’t intended to take anything with her, but the council had insisted she at least look and see if anything call to her. And the moment she had stepped inside, the blades had called to her.
A gasp shook her as she felt … life. Elemental energy of a kind that called right to her heart, bringing heartfelt words to her lips.
“Wake up, you two. You’ve been sleeping for far too long.”
For decades the twins had slumbered, unwilling to give their power to the king who’d betrayed their faith. The sleep curse they’d placed upon themselves was supposed to last for hundreds of years, yet the call of one with powerful magic had brought them from their respite.
Not only had they been reawakened, but on instinct the pair sought to resonate with the one who’d brought them back. Her words and voice was the catalyst that brought the pair into their human forms before her.
“But napping was so much better than serving that traitor...” Lyra complained with a soft yawn. “And the dream was so pleasant too...”
“Pleasant as our dreams were sister, King Arthas’ contract is broken. It seems he finally took the last steps in breaking our pact.” Aria informed before looking to Lux. “Are you the one who woke us up?”
“-Want to know who we thank. Right?”
“Always the mind reader.”
“Someone has to live up to your expectations!”
Lyra’s response caused both of them to start laughing. Once they settled down the pair embraced one another.
“Being awake isn’t so bad.” Aria mused.
