Pride was this weekend in my town and I couldn’t go.

 I’m on my first week off T and have been in a state of near constant migraine. I’ve been getting waves of nausea in car rides (I have a theory my TOS makes me more susceptible to motion sickness too but idk). Most notably on Wednesday I was shaky and sick for 1.5 hrs after getting out of a ~20 min car ride and then immediately had to go back home…in a car. 

Apparently migraines have more to do with your estrogen levels than your testosterone levels, which makes sense bc I am no longer getting T I used to get and now my estrogen if off bc of that. But bc of all of this, I had to miss 2 days of work this past week because I was so sick I couldn’t do much more than sleep. On top of that I’m on the wrong anxiety medication (again!!!) and can’t get it fixed until this wednesday. 

Yesterday I had a talk with my mother. For backstory, I’ve been attempting to get in with a thoracic outlet syndrome (otherwise abbreviated as TOS)  specialist to explore my surgery/treatment options for my chronic pain. My Mom told me long ago she wanted to be involved in my surgical treatment for TOS and she wanted to know if the doctor would recommend TOS surgery, top surgery, or no surgery at all. 

I went to the specialist and she told me “Top surgery sounds like a great treatment plan! You already want it and it could significantly ease your TOS symptoms. We have wonderful plastic surgeons in our medical group and I’d be happy to write you a recommendation letter for your insurance/primary care physician.” I have an audio recording of a thoracic outlet specialist saying she thinks me having top surgery will help me. Which I have been telling my mother since the year I came out to her as trans. 

 Well, I told Mom about the migraines, the being off testosterone, and the appointment. “I can’t afford to help you financially when you’re taking off work for migraines. It’s not fair that you’re using our insurance and my money when you take off work for your gender exploration.” She’s the victim because her kid wants surgery and as usual, she’s pinning her anxieties onto me. God, even if I hadn’t already inherited her OCD I probably would have ended up getting it from exposure to hers alone. 

 So anyway not only is she making me feel bad for being sick she starts saying she wants me to be on my own insurance for top surgery because…? I have yet to get a good answer.

This isn’t the whole picture. My parents are liberals and have always voted positively on queer issues. They try. They just don’t try enough with ME. At least not about this. 

Mom and dad at least agreed to watch a couple videos and look at some articles about gender dysphoria, specifically ftm top dysphoria. Meanwhile, weed is still expensive as shit but medical/recreational use laws are the only thing keeping me from blowing my brains out. I can’t even go to my therapist because I’m in debt to her and have to wait for (guess who) my mother to call her and validate the billing. 

I can’t even picture in my mind a future where I’m happy, I’m just holding on because I know in my brain it’ll come. Even though I can’t see it anymore. I’m happy for everyone celebrating pride, especially in my town. I’m glad others could go and have some fun even though I was too stuck in my own head to do it. (Though after reading up on how it went, apparently they allowed uniformed police officers and people were protesting and it got ugly, so I’m lowkey glad I didn’t get mixed up in the stress of that).

Anyway. I’m only making this post to validate my need for paypal donations/playbill sales on this site. Please help me out if you can. Or reblog this, whatever. I don’t care. I’m just so tired.
