I really just ran out of time trying to do this drawing, the closet thing I could produce to a construction drawing for my tin man. I liked the idea that the tine man was hiding inside a larger shell, almost like a metal turtle, when he is scared or embarrassed he can pop back inside his shell.

Little doodle I did of a potential tin man design at work in my break. this is the form that i will go with, but I will try to work out the kinks and get a good form and shape.

I don’t know what happened here, I really tried to do the construction drawings, and tried a turn around, or at least tried a side view as well a front view. These drawings turned out quite poor, I tried to leave these drawings and come back to them, but i couldn't get my hand into gear, even when trying to draw off a picture on the internet, nothing worked.

I fee like there is a bit of steady improvement on my 2 minute drawings. I really tried to get gesture down with these, some of them are better then others, but there is definable improvement. I still find it difficult to put lots of life into these drawings, that just means more practice.

This was just a little doodle in my spare time,playing with the form and flow of the body, and then just for a bit of fun I decided to add a sword and shield to see what it would look like. The legs are slightly out of proportion but I feel like I managed to get a nice form in the chest

Theses are 2 of my better drawings, or so I think. These were the 2 Study drawings we did. In the first one I really tried to focus on the forms and shapes, hence why the rib cage is extremely dark. I think maybe i over enhanced the shapes, and the proportions aren't quite correct, however overall I am pretty happy with it, it is a major jump up from last week. The second one turned out even better, I feel like I manage to get the proportions a lot better on this drawing. I also put some shadow and tried blending it in on the lower section of the right thigh

My set of 2 minute drawings aren’t too flash this time either, however, they did allow me to warm up before the studies. I tried to get some more of the form in the ribs, some more of the detail inside the frame, not just the frame itself, and this has somewhat improve my drawings, still a long way to go. Some of the poses that Socrates assumed where more difficult, but I had my best crack at them

This was the study drawing we did in our first lesson. I found these drawings a lot easier to do as I felt less rushed to complete the drawing. It allowed me to study what I was drawing. If I had maybe one more minute while doing the 2 minute drawings I feel like I might have been able to improve their flow and life, but that will most likely improve as I practice more. I liked how I was able to use the shadow to represent form on the left buttock cheek. I left the rest to flow out with not too much detail, more just for context, still could be improved

I wanted to try out a few perspectives with the generals, I was over all fairly happy with these drawings. There a a few faults with these drawings, the staircase on the left hand drawing isn’t actually in perspective. some of the windows are at different heights on the second one, however they look wrong

As I was playing around with a few different charcoal pencils I roughed out a shape and it sorta looked like a sword to me, decided to fill it out with the rest of the detail, unfortunately I don’t need any sword props.

I was playing around with some different media, I used ink and a bamboo pen to draw this one. Not totally happy with some of the results, definitely need more practice, but it was an interesting medium to use.

This was some earlier attempts at drawing some cubes in 2 point perspectives. The two most left cubes are starting to look a bit weird, probably a combination between them being so close to the vanishing point and that they slightly more prism like then actually cube.

I decided to go into more detail of some of the potential detail on the axe. I thought it would be cool to line the axe with runes on the blade and the pommel, as seen. With the runes and the engraved hammer on the magnetic head it gives the axe more of a dwarven feel, so maybe the tin man could be a dwarven construct robot, refer the doodle in the corner. This is a good idea to play on

If only my hand drawing skills were better... I reckon this would be cool if it was a sorta dwarven style, blocky with engraving up the shaft, on the blade and in the pommel. There is still probably a bit of room to develop this idea further, I might do this a bit more in my own time.

I definitely found the axe a lot easier to come up with multiple ideas. I was going with lots of fixed blades, but then I started to think slightly more futuristic, with a couple of axes with laser blades and one with a floating blade, maybe held up by magnets. I quite liked the idea of a floating axe head, I think i will develope this one further.

I started trying to draw some butterfly nets, I got stuck pretty quickly, I really don’t know enough about butterfly nets to come up with 20 ideas. I might move onto doing axes

This is the final idea I am going to go with. I think the idea of having a forest of the stalagmites and stalactites blocking your view of what is ahead of you, its dark, bats hanging from the roof with glowing eyes. There is lots of opportunity to create lots of atmosphere
