It is not Mermay anymore, but the moment I saw these mermaid poses, I knew I wanted to paint one of them for exercise :D So last night I finally managed to do that. Colour-wise I wanted to do something inspired by Yuming Li, because their delicate balance of colours is so incredibly fascinating, and I want to understand it.

Dear artists: this is how long I use my cane. I need to have it about 6-8in in front of me for my arm to be straight. When my cane is at my side, my elbow is bent. If you're drawing a character with a cane at their side and their elbow is completely straight, the cane is way too short to be useful.

Hello! I hear you don't mind grabbing poses for asks that request them! (If I heard wrong just totally ignore this.) I'm looking for a pose in which someone is crouched over and holding onto another person who is dying on the ground, but one that does not have romantic "vibes" behind it. Could you help me, please?

You will have to be the judge of "romantic or not" on these but here's what I could find with a quick poke in the archive

You don’t happen to have any pose references in wheelchairs, would you? I searched your tumblr and your website, but I figured I’d doublecheck since the tumblr search function doesn’t work that well!

I only have a few and I admit they are not great. A friend had one for a brief time and I borrowed it to get a few shots. It's not the right size for me. I hope to actually hire a model that uses a chair at some point for a better set but for now this is what I've got:
