I've been brooding over the Exarch's disabilities for days now, and i came up with a handful of headcanons~

We often think about the canon information that the crystallization of his arm was so painfully debilitating that he was out for days, and broke his arm to pieces and fit it together to work sort of with magic that reanimates golens.

But i want to add more things for my own entertainment here.

- I dont think he can feel a thing on any part of his crystalized body. It makes sense that the process itself is painful, seeing that his flesh is dying and giving in to crystal, but once the process is done there is nothing to feel. (and this makes up for nice angst when he refuses to touch the wol with his crystal hand simply because he cannot feel it and later when he is cover with it he can only feel the wol with his face)

- Which doesn't apply to the part were flesh meets crystal, tho. Those parts are perpetually sore. The crystal digging in his skin and making it painful even to breathe.

- It is warm to the touch, but fake warm. As it heated by the fire of a hearth. Not totally smooth, it has bumps and edges and you can cut yourself on it if not careful. (Another reason for angst :v) Mostly his hand is smooth, but it's because it was smoothed by time and usage.

- For me, those golden cracks on the crystal are literally that. Cracks. The indication to where he broke it and glued together with magic to make it maleable.

- Its not something that swallowed those straps he has on his spoken arm, but the straps are rather something he made it to mirror the crack so it doesn't draw attention to it.

- We don't know for sure the extention of the crystal on his shoulders, but i do like to think it covers half of his tattoo.

- And speaking of his tattoo, is definitely faded and muddy (in case you dont know, tattoo loses its pigments over time, the pigment can spread under your skin and some colors straight out fade it, that's why we do retouches or covers.)

- The crystal on his shoulders, no matter how much he broke it, it does not give him his flexibility back, giving him that sort of batman neck turn (ammskwmseknsmemss which the game kinda has but i think is because of graphics limitations)

- it also fuck up his back real good. There isn't a single hour his back isn't hurting, which made him over medicate himself with painkillers which made him resistent to them over time.

- Also about his back, his crystal arm is definitely heavier and fuck up his posture even more. And it makes even more painful because his arm is weighing to the side and his shoulders doesn't allow his body to bend properly. He has to keep that straight posture of him all the time.

- About his neck and cheek, he definitely has some teeth crystalized and pulled them out which made it... not difficult to eat, but very annoying. And we know what happens when you chew only on one side of your mouth :v (its not good for your teeth btw)

- His cheek and neck are the most sensible to pain because it needs be moving all the time. Be for breathing or speaking. He can't smile properly because the crystal on his cheek is the least malleable.

- It is painful to kiss, but you never hear him say anything about any of this. Ever.

- His tongue is not crystalized, but the left side of his tongue is tasteless, which made eating a bit boring.

- His throat is crystalized and makes swallowing hard. And he cant throw up by himself. And this brought several complications to his digestive system.

- Eating is... a chore. The attention to what he can and cant eat drove out the joy of eating.

- His bed as extra sheets, linens and blankets and pillows. Since the crystal can scratch on surface and the sound can be kinda annoying

- With this amount of pain and hurdles, is no surprise his libido is on negative most of the time. Why sex with him is basically him worshipping the wol with slow and long kisses and adoration of their body.

- He is also very old, and i wanted him to not have rut cicles for the past 20 years. Not courtesy of his body aging, but from how much the Tower is taking of him year after year. ( buuuutttt *ahem* i can and i have thrown a magical surprise out of nowhere without reason rut cicle just because i wanted to write him cumming several times in one day. Im still writting the thing, but i can say its way past 5k words of pure PWP and no one has been inside of anyone as of yet, and he cum five times already :v)

it really is a shame that zenos and wol never got to live out their primal play/Most Dangerous Game fantasies without the fate of nations or the whole star hanging over it. These two should be stuck in some kind of Predator situation. Mad Maxing it up in the wasteland. They should be two cursed soulsborne characters eternally hunting and killing each other in a giant abandoned cathedral somewhere. It would be good for them. Whose idea was it to put the immovable object and the unstoppable force in politics. They should be smashing against each like a supernova, not stressing about the price of ceruleum

me, checking some old summer gposes i did with my wol and graha some time ago and wanting to draw one of them.

also me, remembers that Tural is south hemisphere and is currently winter anskdnaskdnsandsakdnsa but also, the advantages of living in a place that has the climate of Tural is that i can say how winter and summer feels here :v and i might as well draw them on the beach because is not rly cold :v

The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it

aannnd i was messing around with Krita's settings to find the value filter and decided to test if the values were more or less correct. I usually take my glasses off and take a step back to check the values (it works cause i have high myopia and stigmatism :v) its not perfect cause i suck hard in grey scale, but i dont think its that bad.

THE FACT HE'S EMOTIONALLY STUNTED IS THE FLAVOUR!!!! YOU GUYS WILL ONLY LIKE VILLAINS IF THEY GO BY THE USUAL FORMULA OF SAD BACKSTORY LEADS TO EVIL DRAMATIC WORLD ENDING PLAN

I'm not here to bitch about Emet since I also like him and I like the way he was written and even how it makes you question yourself: if you too had to live while everyone you know and love had to die, would you not go to some great lengths of trying to bring them back IF YOU COULD? Would you not also be stuck in the past in some sort of melancholy and nostalgia and would you not also feel like every time you presently believe you're getting better, you're only proven wrong by your peers and find them lacking and imperfect, and then that plan of bringing everyone back starts ringing back into your ears?

Cool, cool, but Zenos having the also very human backstory of despite being born into the most privileged family and class of his country, ending up as an emotionless husk of a person because he was not even RAISED into an adult, he was merely allowed to exist only by Empire rules and FOR the Empire's goals, is apparently not enough and only gives him the "emotionally stunted" tag? That's the whole fucking point!!

The whole fucking point is nature vs nurture, the whole fucking point is showing that the Empire was so rotten from within it wouldn't even support its royal class, the whole fucking point is lack of any kind of human connection WILL bring you into this state. We've had this guy on and off for 2-3 expansions, reaching a boiling point in EW where he gets that one moment of epiphany, given to him by a teenage girl no less, where he turns around, thinks on it for a while, then COMES TO OUR RESCUE ACROSS TIME AND SPACE. He could very well let us die there since he himself talks about how much he doesn't like being alive. He even tells you you can walk away from him at the very end and that he won't force a fight on you anymore (not my fault that the game still pushes you to fight after cause duhh script).

But sure, he's emotionally stunted :( he doesn't qualify to be a villain. I guess only the guy who allowed 5000 years worth of nostalgia, melancholy and depression to make him attempt mass cross universe genocide gets to be a villain, oopsie.
