𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐃 barely risen, painting Hogwarts in a haze of soft gold when the Malfoy family gathered in the courtyard. The repaired Time-Turner gleamed in Hermione’s hands, spinning gently between her fingers as if eager to do its job.

Y/N stood close to Draco, watching their future children, fuss with their bags and whisper to one another. It felt surreal.

How could she already miss people she hadn’t even raised yet?

Draco cleared his throat, the sound sharp in the quiet morning. “So… this is it?”

Hermione nodded. “It should take them straight back to their proper timeline. Safely this time.”

Scorpius smiled softly. “Thank you, Aunt Hermione.”

Hermione’s expression softened, and she brushed a bit of soot from his shoulder. “Anytime, sweetheart.”

Lyra took Y/N’s hands next, squeezing them tightly. “You’re really pretty, you know that?”

Y/N laughed, her eyes stinging a little. “You have no idea how much that means coming from you.”

Draco’s eyes softened as Leo ran up and clung to his leg. “You’re really different when you’re younger,” Leo said with complete seriousness. Draco raised a brow. “Different how?”

“Less wrinkles,” Leo answered innocently.

Y/N burst into laughter while Draco muttered something about respect and grounding him for life, but there was no hiding the way his lips curved upward anyway. The laughter faded into a comfortable silence. Hermione handed the Time-Turner to Scorpius, the chain glinting in the light. “All you have to do is turn it once, it’ll do the rest.”

Y/N swallowed hard and knelt down to Leo’s level, brushing his hair out of his eyes. “Take care of your brother and sister, okay?”

Leo nodded solemnly. “Always.”

She smiled and kissed his forehead. “That’s my boy.”

Then Lyra stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Y/N. “You’re even nicer than Dad said you were.”

Y/N chuckled. “He talks about me, does he?”

Lyra grinned. “All the time.”

Draco looked like he wanted to say something. And for once, words didn’t come easily. He simply rested a hand on Scorpius’s shoulder. “You’re a good one,” he said quietly. “Keep it that way.”

Scorpius smiled faintly. “I learned from the best.”

That earned him a smirk. small, but genuine.

Hermione gave a small, knowing nod. “It’s time.”

The kids gathered close, the chain looping around all three of them. The Time-Turner began to glow, golden light swirling like liquid sunlight.

Y/N felt Draco’s hand find hers, squeezing tightly. For a heartbeat, the world stilled.

“See you soon,” Scorpius said.

“Sooner than you think,” Y/N whispered back.

With a soft whoosh, the air rippled, and just like that, they were gone.

Only silence and faint golden dust remained.

Draco exhaled slowly, staring at the empty space where their children had been. “That was…”

“Beautiful,” Y/N finished softly.

Hermione smiled faintly from beside them. “Don’t worry, you’ll get there. And when you do, you’ll already know how lucky you are.” She gave them one last warm look before heading back toward the castle, leaving the two of them alone in the soft morning light.

For a while, neither of them spoke. The breeze carried the faint sound of birds and the distant hum of the waking castle.

Then Y/N broke the silence, her voice quiet and full of wonder.

“They were… perfect, weren’t they?”

Draco’s lips curved faintly. “More than perfect.” He hesitated, glancing down at their joined hands. “You think we’ll really be like that? The parents they saw?”

Y/N looked at him, her eyes soft and certain. “I think we already are. We just haven’t grown into it yet.”

He chuckled under his breath. “Imagine that. Me, a decent father.”

“You’ll be more than decent,” she said gently. “You’ll be brilliant. I can already tell.”

Draco turned to her, his expression unguarded for once. Open, honest. “Only if you’re there with me.”

Y/N smiled, leaning into him. “Always.”

He pressed a kiss to her forehead, lingering just a moment longer than necessary. “Then I think,” he murmured, “we’re going to be pretty damn good parents.”

Y/N smiled against his chest. “The best.”

And as the morning light spilled over the castle, the two of them stood there, hand in hand knowing that time, for once, was entirely on their side.

˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖

A familiar click echoed in the attic. The golden chain flashed, and before the dust had even settled, Lyra, Scorpius, and Leo stumbled back into their own time.

They gasped, looking around.

Everything was exactly how they left it. The boxes. The scattered books. The faint smell of dust and old parchment.

Scorpius checked his watch and blinked. “It’s only been fifteen minutes.”

Lyra exhaled in disbelief. “No way.”

Leo looked dazed. “Did that… really happen?”

Before they could process it further, Y/N’s voice floated up from downstairs.

“Kids? Are you done cleaning the attic yet?”

The three of them exchanged glances, and then, without a word, bolted down the stairs.

Draco and Y/N were in the kitchen when their children burst in, breathless and wide-eyed. “What on earth—” Draco started, but he was cut off as all three of them threw themselves into their parents’ arms.

Y/N laughed, startled, as Lyra hugged her tightly from one side and Leo clung to her waist. Scorpius’s arms looped around both his parents, holding on as if he never wanted to let go.

“What’s this for?” Y/N asked softly, brushing Scorpius’s hair back.

“Nothing,” Lyra mumbled into her shoulder. “We just… missed you.”

Draco raised an eyebrow but didn’t pry. Instead, he wrapped his arm around all three of them, his usual smirk softening into something rare, something warm.

“Well,” he murmured, glancing at Y/N, “seems like cleaning the attic did them some good.”

Y/N laughed through the lump in her throat. “Yeah,” she whispered. “It really did.”

And as the morning light streamed through the windows, painting them all in soft gold, the Malfoy family stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, as if time itself had paused just for them

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐋𝐘, the kind of quiet that only exists in Hogwarts before the day begins. The fire had burned down to soft embers, painting the room in sleepy gold.

Scorpius slowly woke up. For a second, he wasn’t sure whyd he wake up suddenly. His eyes scanned the couch who previously had Leo and Lyra on them, sleeping.

Leo was still there, awake but still trying to recall what had happened. Lyra on the other hand was no where to be found. Then he caught the smell.


Warm bread. Butter. Chocolate.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Y/N’s voice drifted in like sunlight, soft and teasing. She was standing by the doorway, balancing a tray full of food with a knowing smile. Beside her, Draco followed, trying (and failing) to look like he hadn’t helped arrange it.

“Breakfast,” Y/N announced cheerfully. “Because saving time itself apparently requires a full stomach.”

Leo shot up immediately. “Is that—toast?”

Draco raised an eyebrow as he set the tray down on the table. “And eggs. And tea. And for reasons beyond me, jam in the shape of a heart.”

Y/N smirked, settling the tray. “That was Lyra’s doing.”

Lyra giggled at the sound of her name, rubbing her eyes. “Jam hearts make mornings better,”

Y/N grinned. “See? A girl who understands priorities.”

Draco muttered something under his breath about “too much sugar and sentimentality” before pouring tea for everyone anyway.

˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖

They gathered around the small table, still wrapped in blankets, hair sticking out in all directions. The room smelled like toast and home, like mornings that didn’t rush.

“Alright,” Y/N said, sitting cross-legged beside Lyra. “Plans for today?”

Scorpius swallowed his bite of bread and straightened up. “We need to go to Hermione Granger.”

Draco groaned immediately. “Of course we do.”

Y/N hid a smile behind her cup. “You agreed last night.”

“I was half-asleep,” he said defensively. “Half-asleep decisions don’t count.”

“Then it’s lucky you’ve had breakfast,” Y/N replied lightly.

Leo grinned around a mouthful of jam. “Dad doesn’t like Aunt Hermione, huh?”

Draco froze. “I didn’t say—”

Scorpius snorted. “You didn’t have to.”

Lyra leaned on her hand, watching them with amused affection. “She’s the smartest witch alive, Dad. You literally married someone who used to study with her.”

Draco sighed. “Yes, and I’m beginning to question my life choices.”

Y/N gave him a look that was all amusement and challenge. “Careful there, Malfoy.”

That earned a small laugh from the kids, and even Draco’s lips twitched. “Fine,” he said, finally giving in. “We’ll go to Granger. But if she lectures me about ‘responsibility and time management,’ I’m walking straight into the lake.”

Y/N chuckled softly. “I’ll make sure to pack you a towel.”

After breakfast, they cleaned up the dishes together, mostly.

Leo tried to help and nearly dropped an entire plate.

Scorpius ended up charming the crumbs into a hovering ball of sugar that Y/N promptly banished with a flick of her wand.

Lyra, of course, was already writing a “To-Do List for Time Travel Recovery.”

Draco leaned against the counter, watching them all with a strange fondness that softened his usual sharpness.

“This is chaos,” he said quietly to Y/N.

She smiled up at him. “Our chaos.”

He didn’t reply, just reached out to brush a stray curl from her cheek, the hint of a smile still ghosting his lips.

“Let’s get this over with,” he murmured. “Before Granger charges us for her genius.”

Y/N laughed, looping her arm through his. “Oh, please. You’ll owe her a thank-you by the end of the day.”

Draco muttered something unconvincing as the kids grabbed their cloaks and wands.

And just like that, the little family of misplaced Malfoys stepped out into the bright morning light, heading straight for the one witch brilliant enough (and patient enough) to fix time itself.

˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖

The corridors of Hogwarts were quieter than usual. The portraits watched curiously as the Malfoy family made their way down the hall. Draco looking mildly horrified, Y/N trying not to laugh, and three half-sized versions of them whispering excitedly about meeting Hermione Granger when she was still young.

“This feels wrong,” Draco muttered under his breath as they approached the Gryffindor common room. “Utterly wrong.”

“Relax,” Y/N said, adjusting Leo’s collar as they walked. “We’re just asking for help. It’s not like she’ll bite.”

“Speak for yourself,” Draco grumbled.

Scorpius smirked. “Dad, you’ve fought countless dorks who tried talking to mum. You can handle one Gryffindor.”

“this is different!” Draco shot back.

Y/N bit back a laugh as they reached the portrait of the Fat Lady. Lyra stepped forward before anyone could stop her.

“Password?” the portrait asked.

Lyra blinked. “Uh…”

Y/N smiled apologetically. “We’re here for Hermione Granger. Urgent matter. Time-sensitive.”

Draco muttered, “Literally.”

After a moment’s huff, the portrait swung open, and they stepped into the warm, familiar glow of the Gryffindor common room.

It was like stepping into a memory. The soft hum of chatter, the smell of parchment and firewood, the lazy sprawl of books on tables.

And there she was, Hermione Granger. sitting near the fire with a book open on her lap, quill tapping absently against the margin.

She looked up the moment they entered.
Her eyes went wide.

“Y/N? Malfoy?” she blurted, standing so quickly her quill tumbled to the floor. “What are you two doing here together— and—”

Her gaze darted to the children. “Who on earth are they?”

Y/N opened her mouth. “Funny story.”

Draco sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Not funny.”

Lyra gave a small wave. “Hi, Aunt Hermione.”

Hermione froze. “...Aunt?”

Leo grinned. “We’re from the future!”

Hermione blinked. Once. Twice. Then she turned her wide eyes to Y/N. “Please tell me that’s a joke.”

Y/N smiled weakly. “I wish it was.”

Ten minutes later, they were all gathered around the fireplace.

Hermione had set aside her book and conjured a small table, the cracked Time-Turner lying in the center like a guilty secret.

“This,” she said, leaning closer, “is Ministry-grade, mid-rotation model — last regulated about… Merlin, years ago?”

Y/N nodded. “I kept it just incase. For emergencies really. Not—” she gestured vaguely toward her children, “—this.”

Hermione pressed her lips together. “And it cracked?”

Scorpius nodded, sitting forward. “Right when we landed here.”

Lyra crossed his arms. “And now we’re stuck, apparently.”

Hermione shot him a look. “I’m assuming you tried Reparo?”

Y/N smiled faintly. “Multiple times. Including some very creative versions of it.”

“By creative,” Draco muttered, “she means ‘dangerously experimental.’”

“Still alive, aren’t we?” Y/N said sweetly.

Lyra stifled a giggle.

Hermione sighed and pulled out her wand, examining the small crack under the light. “It’s stable enough for now, but the flow’s fractured. I can probably realign it, though you might need to anchor it with a synchronized charm from both of you.”

Draco frowned. “Meaning?”

Hermione looked between them, lips twitching. “Meaning, you’ll have to cast together. Perfectly in sync. Same incantation, same intent.”

Y/N tried not to smile. “Oh, that’ll be easy.”

Draco narrowed his eyes. “You’re enjoying this.”

“Immensely,” she said.

The kids watched as Hermione drew out diagrams in the air with her wand, glowing lines of time spirals and anchor runes flickering between them.

Scorpius leaned toward Lyra. “She’s so cool.”

Lyra whispered back, “Told you. She’s like a walking textbook, but in a fun way.”

Leo nodded solemnly. “She’s my new favorite grown-up.”

Draco overheard that and made a face. “Traitors.”

Y/N nudged him gently. “She’s helping us. Be nice.”

“I am nice,” he muttered.

Hermione didn’t even glance up. “No, you’re not.”

Y/N laughed softly, covering her mouth.

After an hour of notes, tests, and one dramatic spark of magic that made Leo squeak and duck behind Scorpius, Hermione finally straightened.

“I think I can fix the core alignment,” she said. “But I’ll need a focus spell from both of you. If it works, you’ll be able to return to your timeline safely.”

Draco exhaled slowly. “Finally.”

Y/N met Hermione’s eyes. “Thank you.”

Hermione smiled — the kind of warm, knowing smile that softened her usual sharpness. “Of course. You two may be impossible, but I’d never leave your children stranded in time.”

Draco blinked. “You make it sound like that happens often.”

Hermione smirked. “With you? Wouldn’t surprise me.”

The children’s laughter filled the room, bright, bouncing off the old stone walls. Even Y/N couldn’t help but join in, her quiet giggle blending into the sound of home. Draco rolled his eyes, but the faint twitch at the corner of his mouth gave him away. he was smiling too, whether he wanted to or not.

As the laughter slowly faded, Y/N’s gaze drifted around the common room. the familiar crackle of the firelight, the comforting scent of parchment and wood smoke, and the sight of her children — their children — right there in front of her.
Something warm bloomed in her chest. She felt whole. Complete.

Maybe this was always meant to be.
She loved them. Loved the sound of their laughter, the way they stuck together, how they made even chaos feel like family. Just the thought of them always being there for one another made her heart swell in the softest, most certain way.

A gentle hum of magic interrupted her thoughts. Hermione looked up from the small table, the Time-Turner now whole and gleaming under the firelight.

“It’s done,” Hermione said, smiling as the golden hourglass spun steadily between her fingers. “Your Time-Turner’s fixed.”

Y/N let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. The kids cheered, and even Draco allowed himself a small, relieved smile, though his hand instinctively found hers, as if to say not yet… just a little longer.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐑 sat innocently on the coffee table in their dorm room. Tiny, cracked, and humming faintly, as though it hadn’t just sent three children 18 years into the past.

“Alright,” Scorpius began, staring down at it like a cursed artifact. “Step one: don’t panic.”

Lyra raised a brow. “You’re literally panicking.”

“I said don’t!”

Leo, lying on his stomach beside them, propped his chin up on his hands. “Maybe it just needs a nap?”

Draco sighed from across the room, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “Merlin’s beard, are they always like this?”

Y/N chuckled softly as she leaned against the wall, arms crossed. “Every single day. Usually before breakfast.” She joked

Draco gave her a look that was half horror, half fascination. “And you voluntarily had three of them?”

She grinned. “Wouldn’t trade them for the world.”

Scorpius pretended not to hear, but his smile gave him away.

They tried everything after that. Spells, charms, even a few Muggle ideas Leo enthusiastically suggested “What if we shake it really hard?”

Scorpius tapped the Time-Turner with his wand. “Reparo!”

It sparked. Once. That spark ignited hope within the three Malfoy’s, were they finally be able to go home?

Then turned a violent shade of magenta.

There was a loud pop, a puff of glittery smoke, and the faint scent of burnt cinnamon.

“...Is that normal?” Lyra asked carefully.

Draco just stared at it. “Congratulations, we’ve created the world’s first decorative time turner.”

Y/N pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh. “Well, at least it’s pretty.”

“Pretty useless,” Draco muttered.

“Hey Language!” Y/N teased, though she was smiling as she scooped up the device. It was still warm to the touch, thrumming faintly in her palm, stubborn and alive in a way only magic could be.

Leo climbed up beside her on the couch. “Mum, maybe you broke it because you’re too powerful.”

Draco snorted. “That’s not how magic works.”

Lyra smirked. “You sure, Dad? You look nervous.”

“I am not—” Draco began, but his voice faltered when Y/N laughed, her eyes soft with affection.

“Don’t worry, Malfoy,” she said lightly. “We’ll find a way. We always do.”

For a moment, Draco didn’t answer. His gaze lingered on her. The way she spoke with quiet certainty, how calm she seemed even when the world tilted sideways.

He cleared his throat and turned away before anyone noticed. “Yes, well, positivity won’t fix broken time.”

They eventually gave up their experiments, surrendering to the warmth of the late afternoon sun that streamed through the tall windows. The Time-Turner lay silent now, resting between them like a stubborn secret.

Leo was curled up on the rug, drawing tiny dragons on a bit of parchment Y/N had conjured for him. Lyra sat cross-legged beside her younger mother, inspecting the faint crack running through the Time-Turner’s glass.

“So…” Lyra said after a moment, tilting her head. “How did you two end up together, anyway?”

Y/N laughed softly, glancing toward Draco. “A very long story.”

“Detention,” Draco said flatly.

Lyra blinked. “You met in detention?”

Y/N smirked. “Technically, he started it.”

“I did not—” Draco began, then caught the amused glint in her eyes. “Fine. Maybe a little.”

Scorpius snorted. “So basically, you bullied each other until you fell in love.” Scorpius made a fake gagging expression “That’s gross.”

Draco gave a helpless sigh but there was amusement in his voice when he muttered, “Unbelievable. Even in a different timeline, I get ganged up on.”

Y/N leaned closer, her smile softening. “Aww, I know you secretly love it malfoy.”

He didn’t deny it.

The room had gone quiet.

The fire had burned low, painting the room in a sleepy amber glow. The kids had all drifted off one by one.

Leo slumped over Draco’s arm, Lyra curled up against Y/N’s shoulder, her hair still smelling faintly of old books and sugar biscuits.

It was the kind of silence that only existed when the world finally stopped spinning.

Draco glanced at the little bodies piled against them and exhaled softly, his voice quiet but full of awe.
“They’re… ours,” he murmured, almost to himself.

Y/N smiled, brushing a lock of hair away from Lyra’s forehead. “They are. And apparently, they inherited your knack for trouble.”

Draco scoffed lightly, eyes warm. “I’ll have you know I was perfectly well-behaved.”

“Right,” she teased. “That’s why you spent half your school years in detention.”

He chuckled under his breath, leaning back into the couch. “Still. Look at them.”


His gaze softened, Leo’s tiny hand clutching his sleeve, Lyra’s peaceful expression, the faint rise and fall of their breathing. “I didn’t think I’d ever get this… something that feels so—”

“Full?” she replied gently.

He nodded. “Yes. Full. Like every bit of my life finally made sense.”

Y/N turned her head to look at him, the flicker of the fire catching in her eyes. “Seems like we did something right in the future.”

He smirked faintly. “Seems like you did. I probably just annoyed them into good behavior.”

Her soft laugh filled the space between them, quiet but bright. “You’re better than you think, Love.”

For a moment, there was only the sound of the fire crackling. Warm, steady, and safe.

Then his tone turned more thoughtful. “We’ll need to figure out how to fix that blasted Time-Turner tomorrow,” he said, glancing toward the small golden device resting on the table. “I doubt it’ll fix itself.”

Y/N sighed softly. “We’ve tried everything we could. Maybe we’re not supposed to fix it yet.”

Draco frowned. “You think this..” he gestured vaguely to the cozy chaos around them “..happened for a reason?”

“Maybe,” she said, resting her head lightly on his shoulder. “Or maybe it’s just a reminder.”

“Of what?”

She smiled sleepily. “That our life turns out pretty amazing.”

Draco stared at her for a long moment, something fond tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Yeah,” he admitted quietly. “It really does.”

A soft rustle interrupted them. They turned to see Scorpius stirring, rubbing his eyes blearily before sitting up.

“Oh I’m sorry, did we wake you?” Y/N whispered.

He shook his head, voice hoarse with sleep. “No mum, its fine. Couldn’t really sleep anyway.” Y/N’s heart never failed to flutter when Scorpius referred to her as his “mum”

He blinked at the faint glimmer of the broken Time-Turner. “You two were talking about fixing it?”

Draco nodded. “Trying to, yes. But it’s more complicated than it looks.”

Scorpius rubbed his chin thoughtfully, that familiar clever spark lighting his face even through the drowsiness. “You know… there’s only one person who’d actually know how to deal with something like that.”

Draco groaned instantly. “Don’t say it.”

“Auntie Granger,” Scorpius said, grinning a little. “You know it’s true.”

Y/N chuckled softly. “He’s got a point.”

Draco pinched the bridge of his nose. “Of course he does. He’s your son.”

Scorpius smirked, half-asleep and smug. “And your only hope, apparently.”

Y/N laughed quietly, reaching over to smooth his messy hair. “Go back to sleep, genius. We’ll find her in the morning.”

“‘Night, Mum,” he mumbled, curling back up on the couch.

Draco watched as Y/N’s eyes fluttered closed beside him, her hand still resting protectively on Lyra’s shoulder. He looked around at the small, tangled heap of his family and allowed himself a faint, incredulous smile.

“Granger,” he muttered softly to himself, shaking his head. “Of all people.”

Then, with a quiet sigh, he leaned back and let the warmth of the fire lull him into sleep, surrounded by the future he never knew he wanted.

NOV 13, 1996 - HOGWARTS...

The golden sunrays streamed through the Great Hall windows, catching on floating candles and the nervous faces of three out-of-place Malfoy kids sitting at the very end of the Slytherin table.

Lyra stared down at her plate. “This feels illegal.” Scorpius muttered, “That's because it probably is.”

Leo, completely unbothered, poked at his toast.

“Do you think they have chocolate milk yet?”

Across the table, younger Draco was still watching them like they might explode.

Scorpius recognizes the boy beside his father, it was uncle Blaise. It was a very odd sight for Scorpius to see their usually very cool and composed godfather in such a panicked state.

“You're telling me they just appeared out of nowhere? Are you sure they're your children?-What id they're just your distant cousins? One of them said i was their godfather- IM TOO YOUNG TO BE A GODFATHER!”

Draco shrugged helplessly. “Mate, I don't even know where to start.”

Meanwhile, Y/N sat across from the kids, trying to appear calm despite the hundred questions swirling in her mind. She knew it was possible, but she still didn't believe that these were actually her children. In the flesh.

“So” she began carefully, “are you really my children?”

“Pretty much,” Scorpius said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I think we're 18 years ahead from this timeline. Give or take.”

“And we're actually—“ Draco pointed between himself and you, “-your parents?”

Lyra gave an awkward smile. “Yep. Hi, Dad. Hi, Mum. Big fans, by the way.”

Draco blinked, utterly scandalized. “Fans?”

Leo grinned. “Mum says you used to be dramatic.”

Y/N bit back a laugh. “Used to be?”

Draco groaned, dragging a hand down his face.

“This cannot be happening.”

“Look on the bright side,” Lyra said sweetly. “You and Mum end up married. Three kids. Fancy house. Loads of money.l

Draco paused. “..Go on.”

Y/N shot him a look. "Really?"

“What? I'm trying to find the positives,” he muttered.

Scorpius sighed, glancing down at the broken Time-Turner resting on the table between them.

“We just need to fix this. Then we'll disappear and never tell anyone you were soft with Mum.”

Draco froze. “Soft?”

The glow flickered, sputtered, and died.

Lyra blinked, still clutching Leo's arm. "Did we... did it work?"

Scorpius glanced around. Same dusty classroom.

Same younger parents staring at them like they'd just sprouted horns.

He groaned. "Brilliant. We're still here."

"Still where?" Draco demanded, lowering his wand but not the suspicion in his voice. "And where exactly are you three supposed to be?"

Draco's eyes wandered to the shiny jewelry that they were holding, his brow furrowed. "What in Merlin's name is that? It looks like-"

"A Time-Turner," Y/N finished softly, eyes wide.

"But those were banned years ago..."

Lyra forced a shaky laugh. "Funny story about that-see, it's not technically ours-"

"Wait," Y/N interrupted, stepping closer. "What are your names?"

The siblings exchanged panicked glances.

"Uh... Leo," the youngest blurted out.

"Lyra," she sighed. "Might as well tell them."

Scorpius hesitated. "'...Scorpius Malfoy." He winced when the word Malfoy rolled off his tongue.

Draco blinked. "Malfoy?" His gaze snapped toward you. "Did you hear that?"

Y/N nodded slowly, color draining from her face.

"Draco.. look at them."

And when he did, the resemblance hit like a Bludger. Lyra's eyes exactly like Y/N's Y/E/C orbs, Scorpius's jawline, Leo's messy hair that was definitely not inherited from him.

Draco's mouth fell open. "You have got to be kidding me."

Lyra nervously giggled. "Surprise.?"

Y/N frowned still in disbelief, taking a cautious step closer. "How did you guys even end up here.?"

Scorpius winced. "Yeah, about that-it's kind of a long story and it was totally all Lyra's fault."

"Hey!" Lyra slapped his brothers arm earning a "ouch!" from him.

"I have a better question, where in the bloody hell would you get a time turner? Arent those banned?" Draco interrogated, crossing his arms as if he's trying to insert dominance infront of so called children, eyeing the broken Time Turner in Leo's hands.

Y/N gently took the broken Time Turner off little Leo's hands and inspected it "that looks exactly like the one Professor McGonagall confiscated two years ago."

Draco looked alarmed, he didn't know if he should be scared or angry at his children for stealing.

"You stole a banned artifact from Hogwarts?"

Lyra glared. "Technically, it's Mum's."

The younger version of their mother blinked.

"Excuse me, what?"

Lyra quickly stepped between them, she attempted to take back the Time Turner from her mother's while trying to explain in a panicked tone

"Can everyone calm down? Heres the deal, we're your future kids and we accidentally turned back in time on accident! We didn't mean to-"

A faint crack interrupted her. The Time Turner's glass shattered, scattering golden sand across the floor.

The room went dead silent.

Leo's eyes widened. "That's.. bad, right?"

"Bad?" Lyra groaned, throwing her hands up. "It's catastrophic! We're stuck in the 1990s with Dad's bad attitude and horrid hair!"

"Hey!" Draco said, while Y/N snorted at their child's comment

Scorpius ran a hand through his hair, pacing. "We need a plan. We can't just walk around Hogwarts saying we're time travelers."

"Yeah," Lyra said with a sigh. "Because that'll sound so normal.

Y/N exchanged a glance with Draco, both equally confused and concerned.

"Alright," Their Mother said finally, taking charge.

"Until we figure this out, you're staying with us." Draco frowned. "Absolutely not. I am not babysitting time-displaced children."

Lyra rolled her eyes at her father. "You will be. In about twenty years.

Draco froze. "I hate this."

Y/N stretched, dusting her hands after finishing the dishes. "They've been awfully quiet up there."

Draco looked up from his book, a slight frown tugging at his lips. "Quiet or suspiciously quiet?"

She sighed. "The second one."

Draco nodded, "Mhm, but do you know what that means?" he asked

"What are you hinting at, Malfoy?" she teased, her tone playful while her hands kept moving as she wiped the counter.

Draco chuckled lowly, his voice echoing around the quiet kitchen. "Nothing at all, Malfoy. Just observing."

"Observing what, exactly?" she asked, her tone amused but distracted as she reached for a dish towel.

"Observing," he drawled, stepping closer, "how incredibly unfair it is that you look this good while doing chores."

Before she could respond, his arms slipped around her waist from behind, pulling her gently against him.

"Dracoo." she laughed, trying (and failing) to sound stern. "You're supposed to be helping."

"I am helping," he murmured into her shoulder, his breath warm against her skin. "Moral support."

She shook her head, smiling despite herself.

"You're ridiculous."

"And yet," he whispered, tightening his hold, "you still married me."

"Unfortunately," she teased, leaning back into him.

"Liar." He pressed a soft kiss to her neck, grinning when she sighed.

The moment lingered. quiet, warm, and unbothered by time itself.

Neither of them noticed the faint shimmer of gold dust drifting down from the ceiling above... nor the empty attic where three Time-Turner-sized problems had just disappeared.

Lyra groaned dramatically, tossing her braid over her shoulder. “Why do we even have an attic? Normal families just throw things away.”

“Normal families don’t have centuries of cursed furniture and antique broomsticks lying around,” Scorpius replied, smirking as he nudged her with his shoulder.

Leo, the youngest, peered up the stairs with wide eyes. “Are there ghosts?”

“Only your father’s horrid hair gel phase,” she joked at her husband’s expense, and Scorpius couldn’t help but snort.

“Just get it done before dinner,” she said, trying not to laugh as she turned away. “And don’t break anything— especially not magical things.”

The moment their parents left the room, Scorpius clapped his hands together. “Alright, troops. Let’s conquer the attic of doom.”

It was hot, dusty, and filled with the smell of old wood and forgotten spells. Boxes were stacked like uneven towers, some labeled in their mother’s ahndwriting handwriting, others so ancient the ink had faded.

Lyra sneezed. “Ugh, this is disgusting. Who even keeps this much junk?”

Leo tugged open a small wooden chest and gasped. “Hey, look! Shiny!”

Scorpius leaned over his shoulder. Inside, nestled in faded velvet, was a delicate golden hourglass strung on a fine chain. It shimmered faintly, the sand inside glowing like liquid sunlight.

Lyra’s eyes widened. “That looks expensive.”

“Or cursed,” Scorpius said thoughtfully.

Leo reached for it anyway. “It’s pretty—”

“Leo, don’t—” Lyra started, but it was too late. The chain slipped through his fingers, spinning once, twice-

The air shifted. Time itself seemed to hold its breath.

And then, with a blinding flash of gold, the attic was gone.

NOV 13, 1996 — HOGWARTS . . .

The spinning stopped as suddenly as it began.

Lyra hit the floor with a thud. “Ow!—what in Merlin’s name—”

Scorpius groaned beside her, rubbing his head. “Everyone alive?”

“I think I swallowed a cobweb,” Leo muttered, spitting out dust.

When they finally looked around, the attic was gone. Instead, sunlight poured through tall windows, and the air smelled faintly of parchment and potion ingredients.

Scorpius blinked. “This… looks like Hogwarts?”

Lyra squinted at a nearby banner. “Except that’s not the current school crest.”

Before any of them could process it, footsteps echoed from the corridor. Voices — young, very very familiar voices.

“Hide!” Lyra hissed, shoving Leo behind a stack of crates. They ducked just as two figures entered the room. Laughing, bickering, and completely unaware of the three intruders.

The siblings froze.

Because standing there, in the middle of the old classroom, were their parents.

Their mother, young, bright-eyed, in her Hogwarts robes—and Draco Malfoy, looking barely seventeen and already rolling his eyes at her.

Lyra’s jaw dropped. “No way.”

Scorpius whispered, “We just crashed into Mum and Dad’s teenage years.”

Leo blinked. “They look weird.”

Lyra cooed. “They look in love.”

“Do not.” Scorpius groaned, but his voice cracked halfway through.

And as their younger parents continued arguing over something ridiculous, the three siblings exchanged one look. the kind that said: We’re so dead when we get back.

The three Malfoy’s tried their best to stay quiet, they really did. But Lyra and Scorpius couldn’t stop quarreling,

“Do not move,” Scorpius whispered, crouching lower behind the crates.

Lyra elbowed him. “You’re literally breathing louder than a Hippogriff, stop—”

Crash!

Leo’s foot bumped a stray bottle, sending it rolling across the floor and hitting Draco’s shoe.

Younger Draco turned instantly, wand drawn, suspicion sharp in his gray eyes. “Who’s there?”

Younger Y/N frowned, stepping beside him. “Probably Peeves again, Or—”

The three siblings froze as her gaze landed directly on them.

“Oh no,” Leo squeaked, too late.

Draco’s eyes narrowed. “Who are you kids, and what are you doing in here?”

Lyra tried to smile. “Uh… school project?”

“School project?” Y/N repeated, crossing her arms. “In an unused classroom?”

Scorpius swallowed hard. “Time… studies?”

Draco scoffed. “Brilliant. Detention for all three of you.”

Lyra muttered under her breath, “You’re so much meaner when you’re young.”

“What was that?” Draco snapped.

“Nothing!” she squeaked.

Their Mother exchanged a confused glance with their Father before kneeling slightly, studying the kids closer. “You know… you all look oddly familiar.”

Before anyone could respond, the sand inside the Time-Turner began to glow faintly again- was it ready to pull them back to their present timeline?

“Uh, it’s doing the shiny thing again,” Leo whispered nervously.

“Don’t touch it!” Lyra hissed. “You’ll make it worse!”

“Worse than this?” Scorpius shot back, gesturing at their very confused teenage parents.

𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 Draco found himself constantly haunted by the filthy thoughts he had of Y/N. But not just filthy thoughts, those thoughts turned into wet dreams. Now that the holiday’s were over, it was getting more difficult for him to not be awkward around her.

He hated how easily she slipped into his mind, dragging with her the sinful visions that kept him up at night.

They found it very strange, Why on earth would Malfoy ignore Y/N? She’s his best friend for Salazar’s sake! From then on, Theo and Blaise began watching his every move, hoping to catch even the slightest clue as to why he’d been avoiding her.

But alas, Draco being the insufferable very private git he was never gave them the satisfaction of knowing what was truly going on.

Theo and Blaise decided he should take matters into his own hands.

It was a normal saturday evening, Draco was busy doing his own “errands” (probably jerking off somewhere) So that left the slytherin trio chilling in the common room. Nothing but comfortable silence filled the room.

It finally clicked for Theo, it was the perfect opportunity to speak to Y/N, now that Draco was nowhere in sight.

“Has anyone noticed that.. Draco’s been… different.”

Blaise gave a quiet laugh. “Different’s one word for it. He barely talks to Y/N anymore.”

Y/N looked between them, confused at first. But as their words lingered, realization dawned on her. The distance, the silence, the way Draco’s eyes always seemed to find anywhere but hers… they were right. He’d been avoiding her, and she knew but never wanting to bring it up first.

“Avoiding me?” Y/N repeated, scoffing. “What did i even do? Steal his hair gel?” Blaise chuckled at her side comment

Her words were sharp, but her chest felt heavy. She hated that it hurt this much.

“Whatever,” she said, grabbing her bag. “If he wants to avoid me, he can at least do it to my face.”

Blaise raised an eyebrow. “You’re going to find him, aren’t you?”

“Damn right I am,” she snapped, and stormed off. This left the two slytherins even more curious on what was about to happen.

Y/N knew he was avoiding her on purpose, she just didn’t wanna bring it up. But she couldn’t ignore it anymore— The Draco Malfoy was avoiding her, how dare he? The same Draco that mistaked Hagrid for a bloody grizzly bear in the forbidden forest. He was supposed to be her best friend, why the sudden change?

He still laughed with Theo and Blaise in the common room, but the moment she entered, his expression would shift, and he’d find an excuse to leave. It stung, especially because he hadn’t been like this before the holidays. This wasn’t the Draco she knew.

Fuming, she stormed up to his dorm, her mind buzzing with a thousand thoughts at once. \he was already muttering under her breath about Draco being an insufferable git for ignoring her without so much as a reason. By the time she reached the door she heard muffled panting and groans.

Oh so he blew her off for a hook up? Thats a low blow Malfoy.

She scrunched up her nose, mentally preparing herself for what she was about to see. But before she could turn her hand on the door knob draco whimpered;

“Fuck Y/N..”

What the hell.

She hesitated for a moment, debating whether she should really barge in. But apparently her hand had other plans. The doorknob turned— and Y/N froze. There he was, a very flustered, very half naked blonde on the bed.

The two Slytherins froze, staring at each other in utter shock, mouths slightly agape as they tried to process what they were seeing.

A tense silence hung in the air until Draco finally spoke, his cheeks just faintly pink.

“Fuck Y/N! You weren’t supposed to hear— No! You weren’t supposed to see that!” he spoke frantically, clutching the sheets like they might save his dignity.

“Draco—“

The silence was deafening. Draco blinked once, twice, then exhaled through his nose.

“Next time,” he said tightly while still clutching the sheets that was covering his parts, trying to sound composed, “try knocking first.”

Y/N Blinked, before finally snapping out of a trance. “Draco what the hell did i do? why were you ignoring me? Did i do something wrong?” she said, crossing her arms trying to forget that he just moaned her name seconds ago.

She didn’t want to bring that up, so she grasped at the first excuse that came to mind. Something, anything, to steer the conversation away from what just happened.

“Is this because I didn’t visit you during the holidays?” she blurted out, instantly regretting how lame it sounded. Draco just looked at her blankly

“Wait— is this why you’ve been avoiding me? Merlin, Draco, it is, isn’t it?!”

“What? No! Salazar, no!” Draco practically yelped, clutching the sheets like his life depended on it.

“I wasn’t— it’s not— bloody hell, Y/N, could you not assume things when I’m half-naked?”

“Then Why are you ignoring me?!” she shot back, equally red.

They both froze, realizing how loud they’d gotten, and the silence that followed was painfully awkward.

“Could you— Fuck, just give me a second?” Draco muttered, his voice strained as he pointed to himself, still clutching the sheets like his life depended on them.

“Fine,” Y/N scoffed, turning her back to him. “I’ll just stare at this lovely wall while you put on some clothes.” spinning on her heel to face the wall, giving Draco at least a bit of privacy to pull himself together and find something decent to wear.

“Okay. You can look now.”

Y/N finally faced him for the first time (after seeing him basically wanking off), she felt goosebumps of how close they were right now. She managed to compose herself within seconds, to confront the blonde about his actions.

He apologized? Weird, right?

And then he added, “You play better than most of the Ravenclaw team. Thought Chang was the only decent flier in your family.”

I should’ve snapped back, walked away, rolled my eyes. But I didn’t. Instead, I said, “She isn’t. And neither are you.”

He smirked. And i think that’s the exact moment everything changed.

After that hallway incident, I told myself it meant nothing.

People like Draco Malfoy didn’t see girls like me. I wasn’t a Slytherin princess, or the type to fawn over him during Potions.

Yes sure maybe he’d seen something in me because i was a pureblood, but chances of that happening were slim. I was just a third-year Ravenclaw with grass stains on my robes and a habit of hiding in the library when I got overwhelmed.

Still, I couldn’t ignore the way he looked at me the next time we passed in the corridor. That smirk was there again, but it was different now. Less mocking, More curious.

I told Cho about it. She laughed.

“You’re imagining things,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Malfoy doesn’t notice people unless they’re kissing his shoes.”

I blinked. “Was that a compliment?”

He shrugged. “Don’t get used to it.”

And then—he walked away. Just like that. No explanation, no follow-up. But he’d been waiting for me. I was sure of it.

The next few weeks, were a blur and weird. Not weird as in the chamber of secrets opening up again, no nothing like that.

Draco kept popping in the library more often, always a few tables away from me, pretending to not see me. I once even caught him looking at me in the astronomy tower while i was practicing on the pitch. And when we crossed paths in the Great Hall, he’d nod like we were something. Not quite friends, but not strangers either. What the hell was he playing at?

One evening in mid-november, i received an owl— not just any owl. It was an eagle owl.

No name. Just a note, scribbled in jagged, cocky handwriting:

"Try not to fall off your broom next match. Not because i care or anything. just hate seeing Ravenclaws cry when they lose."

Draco had a way of finding me wherever I was: between classes, at the Quidditch pitch, even in the owlery once when he “just happens” to be sending a letter at the exact moment I was.

Like i said before, weird.

And then one day, he broke this silly cycle of ours and invited me to a study date. Technically it wasn’t a date, it was with his friends.

That should’ve been my first red flag.

The slytherin common room was everything it was rumored to be. it was dark and elegant and buzzing with a kind of arrogant quiet. Like the air knew it was better than you.

Draco was waiting for me outside the entrance, not even pretending to hide his grin. “Try not to look Ravenclawy” he said, tugging my loose scarf. “I can do that myself thanks, but can i ask why?” i raised my eyebrow at him “you’ll scare theo.” he chuckled

Inside, four slytherins lounged across emerald cushions and leathered couches, like they ruled the underworld. All eyes looked towards me the second I stepped in their common room.

Blaise Zabini, lean, unreadable, sipping something suspicious out of a teacup.

Enzo, Lorenzo Berkshire, tall, brunette, and charming in a break-the-rules-with-a-smile kind of way.

Pansy Parkinson, sharp-witted, loud in the best way, and the only one who called Draco out to his face. She had messy dark curls, an eyebrow piercing (yes, somehow Hogwarts let it slide), and a wicked sense of humor.

And Theodore Nott, quiet, pale, with eyes that looked like they saw things you hadn’t even done yet.

I stood frozen for a beat too long.

Draco broke the silence and stepped forward, like he was introducing me “Guys this is—“

“Shes the one who scored on flint when she was 13.” Enzo interrupted, raising his eyebrows. “Respect.”

Pansy smirked, “Didn’t know the slytherin prince liked chasers” i gave them a small smile, still unsure how to act around them.

Theo finally spoke and looked at me “Ravenclaw, right?”

I raised my eyebrow at this, “Is that a problem?”

Theo blinked once.

“No. I like watching people who think they’re safe.“ he replied, i mentally sighed “until they’re not.”

I held his gaze, something shifting in the space between us. There wasn’t malice in his tone—just honesty. Chilling, quiet honesty. Like he’d already seen the ending and was waiting for the rest of us to catch up.

Draco scoffed behind me and rolled his eyes at theo. “He thinks he’s deep.”

“I am deep,” Theo said, still looking at me. “She’ll see.” we all laughed at his edgy remark

it didn’t take long for the slytherin’s to become my apart of my routine, or maybe i became apart of theirs. I never knew how much was planned and how much was just the way gravity worked around people like them.

Draco started waiting for me after classes.

Enzo started calling me “Chaser” like it was a title, not a nickname.

Pansy snuck me sugar quills during lectures. Theo watched me too closely but never said why.

Blaise gave me one piece of advice and only once:

“If you’re going to fall for a snake, Chang, make sure you know where the fangs are.”

i laughed then.

i didn’t laugh later.

It was after the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin match in my fourth year—brutal, fast, blood-on-the-pitch kind of match. We lost by ten points. My shoulder felt like it was dislocated, and my upper lip also felt like it was busted.

Draco didn’t gloat.

My thoughts were interrupted as i heard the door creaked. i didn’t need to look up to see who it was, i know it was him.

“You know..” i muttered, voice dry. “Your not exactly welcomed here after all, slytherin won.”

Draco stepped in anyway, cloak still damp from the fog outside, pale hair falling over his brow like he hadn’t bothered to slick it back.

“Im not here to talk about the match.” he said quietly “I’m here because I watched you take a Bludger to the ribs and still score on Montague.”

He walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, as if he had done it a hundred times, his eyes found mine. softer than usual, unarmored.

“You didn’t have to play like that,” he said. “You already proved yourself.”

“I didn’t play for you, draco.”

“I know,” he said. Then, quieter: “That’s the problem.”

I blinked.

He pulled a small jar from his pocket—familiar, green-tinted balm. Slytherin-grade healing salve. Expensive. Private-stock level. “May I?” he asked.

I hesitated... then nodded.

He dipped his fingers in gently and reached for my lip. His touch was featherlight, careful—nothing like the reckless boy on the Quidditch pitch.

“You’re not supposed to care,” I whispered.

“Don’t remind me.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Confused about what?”

“About you, of course.” Enzo’s smirk was half-amused, half-sympathetic. “But you already knew that, didn’t you?”

I turned away, pretending to look at the ripples in the lake, hoping the water could hide my red face.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Draco,” Enzo said, leaning closer, “might think he’s some kind of hero, playing the knight in shining armor, but let’s face it, he’s a walking disaster, isn’t he? He doesn’t do things the easy way. And you? well, you’re no good for him either, are you?”

I didn’t answer.

Enzo’s voice softened, just a little. “Look, whatever happens, don’t lose yourself trying to save him. You’re not his savior. You’re just you. And he’s not the boy you think he is.”

The words stayed with me, like a whisper in my ear, reminding me of something I wasn’t ready to face.

That night, I went to the Astronomy Tower, hoping the cool air would help clear my thoughts.

“Relax,” Draco murmured beside me. “They’re used to you by now.”

“I’m just saying what we’re all thinking,” Theo continued, standing slowly. “She’s not one of us. And this?” He waved a hand between me and Draco. “It doesn’t end well.”

Blaise sighed. “Okay, he’s not wrong.”

“Okay, ouch,” Pansy muttered, but she didn’t argue either. Draco stepped forward. “She’s not just some Ravenclaw—”

“Exactly,” Theo cut in. “She’s the girl who’s going to break you.”

That stopped Draco cold, and me too.

Theo walked over, calm and cold as winter. “You think she understands what you’re tied to? What you’ve promised?”

I looked at Draco, but he didn’t meet my eyes. He just quietly walked out of the room while i shifted my focus onto Theo.

“Theo,” I said quietly, “what are you talking about?”

The room felt more tense than before. I saw pansy who almost looked guilty and felt sorry for me. Then i look back at theo.

He looked at me like, it hurt to say it.

He broke the silence by saying “Draco took the mark.”

I blinked “What? no he wouldnt—“

“He did.” Theo’s voice didn’t change. It was sharp and steady, like he’d had to say it out loud too many times already. “Last summer. He doesn’t talk about it, but we all know.”

I took a step back. My heart was in my throat. “He didn’t tell me.”

“Of course he didn’t.” Theo shrugged bitterly. “You’re the last good thing he has. The only thing that doesn’t belong to them yet.”

The silence after that felt like drowning.

I shook my head. “He… he wouldn’t—he hates what they do—”

“He does.” Theo agrees, “But he did it anyway.”

My hands clenched, “Why?”

Theo stared at the fireplace for a moment, jaw tight. “Because his father told him it was the only way to protect his mother. Because he was scared. Because he’s Draco, and he always thinks he can play both sides and come out clean.”

I didn’t say anything.

He finally looked back at me. “He’s not a villain. But he’s not a hero either. He’s just a boy who made a choice. And whether he meant to or not… he dragged you into it.”

My voice cracked. “I didn’t ask to be dragged.”

“I know,” Theo said. “That’s why I’m telling you. Because he won’t.”

He paused. Then, quieter, almost like it wasn’t meant for me: “You deserve to know when the house is burning. Even if you’re still inside it.”

After that interesting night, we haven’t spoken at all.

Draco was back to avoiding me again, he basically disappeared into the shadows of the castle— as if he belonged there. And me? I practically threw myself to whatever work i could do. Quidditch. Studying. Roaming the halls like I was fine.

Like he hadn’t kissed me like a promise.

Like I hadn’t seen the edge of the Dark Mark. Like my heart wasn’t still bleeding in places no one could see.

He sat with the Slytherins again, laughing at jokes that didn’t reach his eyes.

Head down. Words quiet, and when we passed in the halls. We didn’t look at each other.

But sometimes, I caught him looking when he thought I wasn’t.

And sometimes, I looked back.

Pansy was the first one to break the silence.

She cornered me after charms, leaned against the wall, spinning the sugar quill between her fingers. As if she wasn’t waiting for me on purpose.

“So you just ghosted all of us?” she said, one brow raised.

“I didn’t ghost you.” i replied dryly, “I just ghosted him”

Pansy gave me a sad smile, “its the same thing.” i looked at her and huffed “look, you don’t have to pick sides though.”

She crossed her arms, “Well too bad y/l/n, i did already.” she said. “I chose yours.”

I paused for a brief moment.

“Why?” I asked quietly.

she shrugged. “Because you stayed when everyone else would've run. And because you’re the only person who’s ever made Malfoy feel something. That’s gotta mean something.”

I looked at her for a long time. “You’re not what I expected.”

“No one ever is,” Pansy said. “Now come on. Enzo’s betting two galleons you cry before dinner. Don’t prove him right.”

That night i sat with the slytherins.

With them.

Not with draco.

Enzo passed me a cauldron cake without me asking for it, Blaise gave me an approving nod; As if he was giving me some sort of signal that i was still one of them. Theo? well, he just looked at me, his eyes lingering and it basically just felt like he was analyzing me the whole time. And pansy made sure i laughed with them. Loudly.

Draco watched us from afar, he was only a few seats away.

And i didn’t look away.

The school year ended with me being in good terms with the slytherin, i continued on with my life for the summer.

But rumors started to spread that the Deatheater attacks have been more frequent. This made me wonder if draco had been present in these attacks, speaking of draco; I missed him too much.

School came along, i was in my 5th year and Draco and the others were in their 6th. Things were going normal so far, except for one certain blonde.

I saw him in the train, he looked rather gloomy— more gloomy than usual. His skin was more paler, he looked like he lost weight. He didn’t look like himself anymore, i just watched him from afar.

Two weeks later, i found a letter this time, not a note in my bag.

i opened up the letter only to be met with a familiar handwriting, with a name.

I told myself I wouldn’t write to you.
That I’d let you move on. That it would be better if I disappeared.

But I see you in every corridor, every match, every quiet moment.

And it’s killing me.

I didn’t choose this life. But now I’m trapped in it. And I don’t know how to get out.

I folded the letter quietly, and tucked it into my trunk like it was a wound i didn’t want to touch.

I didn’t write back, a part of me wanted to though.

But that night, i was tossing and turning for the past 36 minutes. i groaned and decided to sneak out to the owlery.

I didn’t know why my instincts wanted me to go there, but i just did; i just stood there staring out the dark.

I heard someones footsteps, it was theo.

“couldn’t sleep?” he asked

“nope.” making the ‘p’ pop as i stare at the distance

he leaned on the rail beside me, hands on his pockets. “He’s falling apart, you know.”

“i know.”

“and you?”

i gave a small chuckle, “I’m doing amazing! thanks for asking!” i said sarcastically, Theo just rolled his eyes at me.

“Im barely holding myself together Nott.” i admitted

Theo was quiet for a moment. Then he said, softly, “He doesn’t deserve you. But even if he did… it still wouldn’t be enough.”

I turned to him. “Why do you keep telling me the truth?”

He looked at me then, and there was something shattered in his expression.

“Because no one ever did that for me.”

A month or so passed after that interaction between me and Theo. Ever since that conversation, i kept a close eye on draco— watching his every move not in a creepy way ofcourse.

Draco was quieter. Paler. Always looking over his shoulder, flinching at shadows that weren’t there.

I kept on spiraling and worrying about a certain blonde. I spent most of my time in the astronomy tower, admiring the sky and just thinking about what was going on.

he looked at me, almost looking guilty “I’m sorry.” was all that he can blurt out.

“You’re hurting me. You won’t let me in. I can’t keep pretending this doesn’t matter. I can’t keep losing you draco.” i held his hand, my voice broke at the last few words i said. this was the first time we actually held his hand again. i shifted my gaze onto his hand and looked back at him with pleading eyes.

he didn’t answer, and just walked away.

But later, when the castle was asleep and the corridors were dark, he came to me. I stared at him blankly while he stood by my door.

No words were exchanged between us, except he closed the distance between us and kissed me. A Part of me wanted to push him off, but instead i just melted into the kiss.

Just hands finding hands. Eyes finding something unspoken. We moved like, We were memorizing, not touching.

Like this wasn’t just a kiss, it was a goodbye folded into skin. Like this wasn’t just desperation—it was a requiem.

Clothes fell to the floor. So did the last bit of distance between us. He kissed me like he was trying to stop time.

And afterward, when the candlelight burned low and his arms were around me like armor he couldn’t keep wearing, he whispered: “i’m sorry for pushing you away.”

And that was the worst part? i actually did.

When i woke up he left, there was no trace of him.

he got married to Astoria greengrass, and they had a son named scorpius. My heart ached, and my mind wondered if things were different; Draco would’ve ended up with me instead of her.

I wasn’t married, or seeing anyone. No one could possibly fill the gaping hole malfoy left.

My daughter, Alie was eleven now.

Brilliant. Brave. With silver-grey eyes that gave everything away.

And as fate would have it, of course. she made fast friends with Scorpius Malfoy. Her Half-Brother.

They met on the Hogwarts Express. Shared a Chocolate Frog. Became inseparable in two hours flat.

And now, on this bright September morning, they stood side by side, waving excitedly before boarding the train.

i froze.

Draco looked like he’d been hit by a curse and healed at the same time.

“You didn’t tell me.”

“I couldn’t,” i whispered. “we were at war. You were trying to survive- And I… found out you got married to astoria a few months after the war— and i figured I didn’t want to be another weight around your neck.”

he flinched at the name of astoria “its all.. fake. between me and her. she’s been seeing other men right after scorpius was born.” he shyly admitted, i looked at him with an apologetic expression “Oh, im sorry about that draco.”

“We don’t really love eachother, and my heart belonged to someone else.” he practically mumbled the last part so you didn’t quite hear him. He fixed back his gaze at the two children, who could be mistaken as twins

“She’s beautiful,” he said. “She looks like you.”

“She has your eyes.”

They both turned to look at the kids. Scorpius was showing Aelia how to levitate her trunk. She giggled when he failed.

Draco exhaled slowly.

“Did you love me?” he asked, quietly

I looked at him.

“I never stopped.”
