Growing up with a father that hated the supernatural, when Carlisle became a vampire he hated his life. He had a hard time trying to come to terms with his new life. He had a hard time accepting who he was and how to live life, he found a new way with the thanks of animal blood. Carlisle has never taken a human life for his own hunger, he has a strong sense of self control in that area which works in his favour due to his line of work. He has a happy family and he loves those he sees as his children, they are what has made life worth it and happy. He married Esme and they lived happily together for a decent amount of years. It wasn't until they came to Beacon Hills that the decision was made that they were going to be separated for the time being. It's not to say that he doesn't love Esme, he will always love her, but he wants to give her a chance to explore life and find something more if that is what she desires.

The storm had given her a slight cold . GREAT . the queen of hell with a cold is so intimidating along with a cut on her hand when she got attacked in the morning . the cold medicine she got at the pharmacy wasn't even working . All she needed was whatever it is they prescribed her and she was on her way under elena's name . She could deal with the cut she had wrapped in a random cloth later . even though the nurse insisted . Katherine couldnt trust anyone after all .

When eyes met carlisle , she instantly stopped in her tracks , turning her full attention to him . ❝ Carlisle . . . ❞ in that moment katherine sneezed . covering her mouth in the process . How embarrassing .

Familiar faces were far and few between but he had to admit that he was shocked to run into Katherine. It had been ages since he had last seen her, centuries even if he had to put any kind of number too it. Yet seeing her here now, standing in front of him, brought a fond smile to his face. There was once a time that they were considered to be great friends, potentially even more, when they had dropped all contact with each other. Her moving on with her life and him finding a family of his own. "Hello Katherine," he greeted with a warm and friendly smile.

Taking a step closer to her he let his eyes observe her, the sneeze was something unusual as vampires don't get sick. Even looking at her hand that was wrapped up made him frown ever so slightly, "what happened to you? Are you alright?"

"Just cut my hand," she said, holding it up. Given she had cut it to o a location spell. "Someone freaked out a little. But go home, no need for you to miss out on your holidays."

Carlisle looked down at her hand and gave her a soft and friendly smile. "No no, I don't mind giving you a hand," he commented as he motioned for her to follow him. "Trust me regular days off aren't considered holidays, it's rare that I take days off anyway," he tagged on with a small chuckle.

Carlisle had already changed for the day and was more than ready to head home after many hours spent at the hospital. Signing the last piece of paper that needed his attention he closed up the folder and handed it to the nurse behind the station. "Thank you Helen, I'll see you in a few days," he commented with a nod. Turning around, ready to make his way to the door when he stopped and a friendly smile came over his face, "sorry, can I help you?"
