Dread Arts Company

Dread Arts Company is a small press comics company based in Chicago, run by David Canario, Jason Swearingen and Matt Collander, along with various collaborators. Our books are available at Graham Crackers locations in Chicagoland, various other comic stores, or online at the links above. We attend C2E2 and Wizardworld in Chicago every year to debut each of our new books. David Canario writes Geek Army (ECC) and co-writes Another Day Older (MTotF). Jason Swearingen illustrates Geek Army (ECC), as well as co-writing and illustrating Another Day Older (MTotF) and doing the graphic design. Matt Collander writes and illustrates Disappearing Ink (ECC), as well as illustrating other short stories by various contributors and doing the cover art. In the past, we’ve had the pleasure of working with and featuring the works of Kat Murphy and Crow, and will soon feature the writing of David Luzienecki and Phil Bertulfo in MTotF #2.

C2E2 2014 is over and man that was fun.  I (matt) was only there Friday and Saturday, but I still got to meet loads of great people & share our book with lots of new people.  

A handful of people were repeat customers, even...it's great to know that people have enjoyed our books, remembered them and then made sure to find us again to see what happens next.  As indie comic makers, little else is as satisfying as that.

Modern Tales of the Future will be available in the next few weeks at Graham Crackers around the Chicagoland area, if all goes well.  Otherwise, contact us in any way you can & we'll get you some books one way or another if you're interested.  Our BUY links are down at the moment on this site, but once we've sorted that nonsense out, you should be able to order our books again directly from IndyPlanet.

Great C2E2 weekend! Put lots of books in a lot of hands and we're excited to hear what people think about our latest stuff (which you can BUY HERE). Couldn't have pulled it off without some big help from Betsy Canario and Philip Bertulfo (who wrote a 6 page story in our new Modern Tales of the Future #2), both champs at manning a booth. David Luzeniecki (wrote a story in MTotF2) was unavailable, due to baby-having and Erica Smith (wrote AND illustrated a big story in MTotF2) lives in a far, far away land from which she sends us wonderful comics to print.

Hey people!

So, we went to a new printer and they did a terrible job the first time.  After thinking we'd straightened out the first glaring issue, signing off on a good looking proof, the reprint turned out to have a host of new, unpredictable errors of its own.

So, #1. New printer! and #2. Look at the above image to download a digital copy of our comic, so if you happen to be missing a page (some issues have pages doubled at the loss of another page, other issues just don't) you can fill in any gaps here.

Sorry for any confusion we might have caused...message us directly if you've got any questions and we'll be printing with a reliable printer from now on!  Keep your misprints (collectors items).
