WHY is tumblr randomly blocking people on this account. I will SCREAM--
Lark's tendency to antagonize people and push them toward their worst inclinations is an instinct meant to empower Bhaal, though in the current state of affairs, doing so doesn’t benefit him. From Faiths and Avatars:
Bhaal could affect up to a dozen lawful evil creatures per round with an urge to slay if that many were within 90 feet of his avatar or manifestation.
For your consideration; the Dead Three:
Bane.
Bhaal.
Myrkul.
is it so bad to want to kill everyone at all times
went on a walk smelled the pine trees. im fine now
crave blood again
i love when characters don't get to die
this is about villains/antagonists/general horrible people who finally face up to what they've done. especially if they try to pull the good ole "Dramatically Does One Good Thing To Redeem Themselves And Dies," but despite their best efforts they DON'T die. like yes motherfucker there's no easy way out for you, there's only the slow, awkward and painful process of learning to live with yourself. of learning to live with the weight of your mistakes. you get a second chance regardless of if you think you deserve it. you get to try to make amends and do good. you get to live.

there is something to be said for bhaal appearing to his children as his mortal form vs. the monstrous forms his avatars take. you expect the Dread Lord to be the latter, and the fear he strikes in the general population pales in comparison to what his children experience under his thumb. the disparity is jarring. it also reinforces his image of a perpetually disappointed father.
among lark's possessions when she set out to find wish were a set of manacles designed to hold him. they never saw their intended use.
they are among the few things lark keeps from her former life, intended for use as a last resort in case of her control faltering. as mentioned before, she fears being restrained. her choice to reveal their existence to anyone is a sign of utmost trust that, once broken, is nigh impossible to regain.
