Sleep will not come easy tonight. The thoughts of you run rampant in my head. My bed is warm and soft ready for dreams. My body feels alive not ready for rest. I sit here now on the edge of my empty bed. It is you that I want to hold tight instead. I stand up and find my shirt. I slide it on still fresh and pressed. I start rolling up my sleeves. I take a deep breath and let out a growl. My blood pumping thinking about your smile. I walk to the back door and stare at the night. My eyes are open and you are my light. I open the door and walk outside to see. It takes a minute to find you its cloudy tonight. I look and I wait. I know you are there. The star of the north is shining back at me. It reminds me of your smile being bright and true. It’s me tonight that needed to see you. 🌹💌
