What we do in the Shadows S06x11
It's sad to watch the downfall of a show that was excellent.
I watched What We Do in the Shadows when it was released, and it was so funny and clever. I was so excited when they announced a TV show, and they nailed the first season, but they ran out of fuel halfway through.
It seems like the writers got bored or hated their jobs. Maybe they were annoyed by fans making the show about Nandor and Guillermo. But the past seasons have been so uninspiring.
I understand they wanted to show that nothing really changes, even though their main character did change. They are the undead I get it.
Maybe that's why Guillermo was so mad about the documentary ending. They were cowards for not letting Guillermo go and live his life, knowing well that he doesn't want to be a vampire, and Nandor doesn't have romantic feelings for him.
That little dream sequence was absurd, they didn't even kiss, that's how cowardly they are. I don't know if it was queerbait or not but it was just nasty to make fun of your fans like that.
Those homages to popular movies and TV shows were fun but it was the final episode it should have been more than that.
Last episode and we didn't get a scene between Nadja and Lazlo, the main couple of the show.
And that storyline with The Guide was crazy. I get the sex jokes, that's Lazlo's thing but to the point of wanting to take the body parts of a female character to make a sex doll because a male character has a crush on her?
And I get they don't see sex the way we do but can you do your horny jokes without removing the agency of female characters? Because they didn't only want to kill her to make a sex doll they asked Nandor for permission because he also has a crush on her.
Anyway, goodbye What we do in the shadows. Sadly, you ended with poor writing, terrible jokes, and poorly executed meta. You won't be missed by me.
