not only is it the amber spyglass' 25th (!!) anniversary this year, it's also been a whole ten (10!!!) years since I shared my first midsummer day art here on tumblr. to honour the occasion, I decided to redraw that very first artwork — I was rather proud of it at the time, and it started a now decade-long tradition of making hdm art every june.

it's mostly a sentimental record for myself, but some of you have also been following me for quite a few of those years, which I deeply appreciate.

here's to the power of stories, and for many more sunlit midsummers to come 💛

many months ago my pal tagged me in a what-would-your-irl-pokemon-team-be post which I am only now responding to because firstly I was paralysed by indecision (HOW am I meant to only pick six pokemon??* impossible!!), and secondly I thought it'd be fun to draw me and my team while I was at it, so. here we are :)

*my answer to this dilemma was to at least start by restricting myself to one pokemon per gen. and then change my mind several times. and then change it back. etc.
