My scars

A little boy looked at my arm and seen my scars. Being a little boy, he was extremely curious, he pointed and ask, "what happened to your arm?" I looked at him and told him, "It was from fighting with pirates." He asked," why were you fighting pirates?" I told him that the Pirates were bad and I needed to fight them off. He then said, "but why did you get hit?" I told him I wasn't the best sword fighter and that the pirate was fast and stronger than me. He then very excitedly exclaimed," I wanna fight pirates too!" I told him he'd be an amazing pirate fighter and that he'd kick all their butts. What he didn't know was the pirates, were actually me. I was the pirate and I lost the battle to myself. I was in a deep hole and I couldn't get out, but I did fix myself. I did make it and I have battle scars from the battles I lost with myself and I am not ashamed of them. They show I've been through a lot and that I've survived. And no one will take that away from me. You can as well, I promise you will survive. You can make it through the dark. Just please hang on it will get better
