I wasn't too sure about the composition of this at first. I'm still not. I had a different image in my head altogether before I started. Then I thought, fuck it, why do I have to paint just one of these? I realized with my art I have this weird commitment in my head to creating JUST ONE animal or scene and that I can't recreate it in a different composition, color scheme, or angle because it defies the rules I've built up for myself. Ridiculous, I know. I never realized I had this mentality until I said "fuck it" to this painting and continued on with it despite my hesitations. I think the lizard is my favorite part.
