Hellooo fellow gay cannibal enjoyers! Got my hands on a reprint of the Ravenous script and it is VERY different from the film.
I bring you this long post breaking down the changes ˋ°•*⁀➷
First things things first, let's get the major changes out of the way:
Script starts in modern day where a bunch of skiers get lost in a blizzard and hide out in a cave (IMPORTANT FOR THE SCRIPT ENDING) One of the skiers starts to tell the story of Fort Spencer to past the time...cut to 1847 and what we know.
Way more of a physical and mental change once they consume human meat. Described as "feral, primal, possessed" with movements that are "monkey-like" and animalistic. Lots of jumping in trees, and also running on all fours. Ives especially loves to ambush people from trees by jumping down onto them. Much more terrifying.
Names changes: Colqhoun is Colburn (he's also from Maryland, while Boyd is from Florida). Martha is Madison and is a man. George is Jefferson.
Boyd actually finds Colonel Hart alive after the whole cave scene and tries to save him from Ives by throwing them both on a sled to escape. They were chased down by Ives tho and ultimately Boyd escaped solo.
There's a whole scene in the second half where the gang hunts rabbits? Unrelated, Boyd also makes a Molotov cocktail and throws it at Ives :)
THE ENDING. Genuinely so shocked reading it. Spoiler: Boyd gives in ~acquiescence~
OK now for actual script pictures and my commentary, we're going chronologically loves so lock in.
Boyd knows Latin! A fun little tidbit. He also has way more lines in the script and is overall sassier.
Of all characters, Boyd was the most different from script to screen.
Colqhoun/Colburn actually admits to licking Toffler's wounds. Which makes more sense than him saying he "accidentally" fell on him mouth open during a nightmare, tho it is less hilarious. He also doesn't ask to be restrained; it's a choice made by Hart.
Here's a good chase scene describing how animalistic Ives becomes.
Dialogue from that scene where Boyd confronts Ives outside at night that didn't make it into the film. This part feels very Killing Eve lmao
More from this scene which is laced with sexual tension... "Another man's virility in you" is certainly a sentence.
Also the horses have names from Greek mythology relating to the Trojan War!
Gay. Also foreshadowing.
This part about Boyd punching Ives up against a wall was replaced with that scene outside where he almost slits his neck.
Out of everything that didn't make it into the film I fear I am most distraught over not getting to see Ives force feed Boyd Knox stew. Big fan of Ives calling him "Mr. Boyd"
THE scene of all time- homosexual blood licking. "Ives who savors his new total dominance" needs to be spotlighted for a minute.
"MONSTER TURNED ON HIS CREATOR" gasped when I read this considering I'm currently having slight Frankenstein brainrot as well.
Putting the last 3 pages here in it's entirety since it's so drastically different from the film (1/3). They really lean into the monkey thing with Ives jumping between trees.
Something extremely inappropriate could be said about "Ives spasms/dangles limply on Boyd's stick." oop
So Boyd kills Ives with an arrow to the neck (I much prefer the bear trap) and then we cut to present day again... (2/3)
Instead of Wendigo in the script it's Tanatka. Cannibalism being mentioned as an "infection" is very interesting and makes sense given that the script describes it as a very physical transformation.
AND THIS IS HOW THE SCRIPT ENDS??????????? (3/3) I'm still in a state of shock.
Overall I think the choices made in the film improved from the script. This was a pretty long read at 125 pages; and there would definitely be some pacing issues if put to screen (lots more scenes of Boyd during the war, the whole rabbit hunt was quite long, and I'm not sold on the modern day thing) the ending also felt a bit rushed.
The script also leans into horror more and is way less comedic which would've made for a very different tho interesting film!

Note: Hey lovelies! I’m back with another chapter and I am very excited to be writing again. This imagine is almost over so I wanted to give you a new chapter. Hope you like it and sorry for all the angst, but I had to after rewatching season 13 and 14. I’m still not okay.

The next few days you still kept thinking about the last case you had in Pennsylvania, the way Spencer was so worried and how intimate interactions with JJ during that case had been. You figured there was nothing to be worried about but there was a gnawing feeling in the back of your mind. Why were you still thinking about this? You knew Spencer liked you, he made sure he told you every day and one day he mumbled something trailing off and walked out of the room quickly. You could have sworn he said the word love. He loved you?
“(Y/N)?” You heard a voice and snapped out of your thoughts. Spencer had said what it sounded like love just two days ago after making you breakfast. You didn’t know what to think about what he said and what had happened with JJ. You turned to see Penelope with a worried face and you smiled at her. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah umm.. sorry, I uh…” you said softly. You glanced down at your hands. “Can I talk to you about something?”
“Yes!” Penelope said with a big smile. “You know I’m always up to chat.”
“So the other day Spencer made breakfast and then um, I said I didn’t know he liked me that much and then.. I could have sworn he said “love” and trailed off. I could be wrong but, Pen, I can’t think of how I feel right now… I am not sure if I feel, you know, love yet…” you trailed off and put your face in your hands. It was all so overwhelming.
“So you don’t love him?” Penelope asked, after a minute or two. “Because my sweet, I gotta tell you I’ve never seen him happier.”
You thought about that for a minute and smiled at her. “Thanks Pen. I know he likes me a lot and I’ve never been happier either. He makes me a better person, and we work so well together and I miss him the second he leaves.. I..”
You stopped, noticing Penelope’s look. You blushed and looked away. “Well dear.. sounds like you’re on your way there..” Penelope said with a huge smile on her face. “I would say maybe you don’t feel it yet but you will. Spencer cares about you and you make him so happy.”
You wanted to believe her words more than anything but you still weren’t sure if you were feeling love.
The next couple of cases, you were paired up with everyone but Spencer as you had requested. Emily wasn’t happy to hear that you might be having issues, but she didn’t press it and honored your wishes. It had been some time since you had spent the night at Spencer’s apartment too and he didn’t question you, but you still felt his eyes on you every time you walked into the room. You didn’t know why you felt like you needed some time apart, but you did.
And then you witnessed what happened to Luke with Lisa. He was so afraid of losing her that he lost his best friend and that drove him to almost killing the unsub responsible. As a friend and someone who considered Luke a brother, your heart broke for him. You had heard stories of Hotch and Derek, they both had families and someone close who they lost or almost lost and you didn’t know if you could take that. You couldn’t lose Spencer, you loved Spencer.
I love him.
The words stayed in your head for a few days and you didn’t know what to say to Spencer since you weren’t sure if he had actually said that he loved you. What if he didn’t say he loved you back? What if it was too soon? What if-
“(Y/N)?” Spencer’s voice snapped you back from your thoughts. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, um.. I am.” You gave him a small smile and went over to get some coffee. Spencer didn’t follow you but you could feel his gaze on you as you filled your mug. You went back to your desk and started to work on some paperwork until Luke started talking about Lisa wanting to have a house warming party.
“I’m telling you, I don’t want a housewarming party,” Luke said to Penelope and he glanced at Spencer.
“What is wrong with you? Who doesn’t like ribbon-adorned potted plants and veggie crudité and hummus with your face carved in it? Do you even fondue, bro?” Penelope asked, looking flustered.
“We’ve got bigger fish to fry here. It’s life and death, and a housewarming party just seems stupid.” Luke shook his head and looked at you. You shrugged slightly at the thought of going to a party in the midst of everything happening. You understood what he meant.
“Ooh, who’s throwing a housewarming party?” Tara asked, walking up. “Oh, please say it’s you. I’m dying for some frivolity, joy, and some overpriced snacks.”
“Not me, ok? Lisa wants one. She wants to get to know all of you guys a little better. In fact, you’re the only ones invited.”
“I think someone is afraid of formal gestures that might insinuate a commitment…” Rossi said as he walked up with his coffee.
“Oh, is that not the kettle one calling the pot black?” Luke said.
“Hey, I’m a reformed kettle, and what is it they say? The fourth time’s the charm.” You laughed at what Rossi had said and saw Spencer looking at you.
Then you saw JJ walk up and gave her a small smile. “What are you guys talking about?”
“Oh, hey, Luke’s throwing a housewarming party.”
“No. I’m not having a housewarming party.”
“What?” JJ said, making a face. “I love a good housewarming party.”
“Matt, help me out, please,” Luke said almost in a pleading way.
“Uh, what does Lisa want?” Matt asked.
“Lisa wants a party….” Luke said softly.
“Yeah. You’re throwing the party, dude.” Matt laughed, along with everyone.
“Let’s meet in the round table.,” Emily said from the door of the conference room. “We have a case.”
“Lisa put you up to this, didn’t she?” Luke asked Penelope and she laughed. You laughed along with her and high-fived Penelope and Tara as you all made your way to the conference room.
After the case was done, you all made it to Luke’s house and you found out Lisa had to cover a shift so it was just Luke. That didn’t stop you from continuing with the festivities though and Emily brought out a basket that had been filled with wine, bread and salt with the contribution of the whole team.
“Hey. Since Lisa can’t make it, you need to be sure to tell her this is from all of us…” Emily began. “Bread, salt, and wine. Don’t make me quote the whole movie.”
“Uh, am I missing something? I mean, I thought we were all off the carbs.”
“Guys never get this,” Penelope said, rolling her eyes.
“Since you apparently were sick on the mandatory viewing day of “It’s a wonderful life,” we’re all gonna help you out. May your home always have…” Rossi began.
“Bread that your house may never know hunger…” JJ chimed in.
“Salt that life may always have flavor…” Tara continued.
“And wine, in which joy and prosperity may reign forever,” Matt said, ending the quote.
“Oh, yes. There will always be wine in this house,” Luke said, laughing.
“To Lisa.”
“Salud.”
“The FBI issued a statement discrediting “It’s a wonderful life” because they said it promoted communism..” Spencer said suddenly, and you just laughed at that. You had missed him while he was gone.
“So good to have you back, doc…” Luke said and glanced at you. You looked back at him and smiled. You knew Luke knew something was going on and he had talked to you about fixing it. You told him you were trying to think of a good time but so far you had been busy.
The night went on and when it was time to go home, Spencer asked if he could walk you home. You hesitated for a moment and then agreed. You had a million thoughts running through your head that it was hard to concentrate on what you were going to say to Spencer if he asked you what was going on. When. When he asked you. You knew he had that question in his mind every time he looked at you, almost with pleading eyes to have a moment alone to just talk it out. You had run away every time but it looked like you couldn’t run away this time.
The walk home started with an awkward silence and you fiddled with your hands as you made your way down the street to catch the train. Spencer glanced at you a few times and it seemed like he was lost for words too. “Ummm..” he said softly and you turned to look at him. “Are you okay?”
You nodded quickly at his question, a little too quick. “I’m fine Spencer,” you began and then stopped. You weren’t sure what to say to him about what you thought you heard. What if he didn’t love you?
“You don’t seem like you are,” Spencer continued. “You seem.. distant and off. I’ve been trying to talk to you for weeks.. and you seem to be giving me the cold shoulder. I don’t.. I don’t really know if we’re together anymore or just take the hint and leave you alone.. or…” He trailed off and you felt your heart break. “Are.. are we still together?”
That question hurt you deeply. You wanted to tell him everything you had been thinking about but you didn’t know how. He was desperately trying to meet your eyes but you just looked at the ground. “I’m not sure Spencer. I…” you said softly, holding back tears. “I honestly am so scared. After seeing what happened with Luke, I just.. I froze and I didn’t want that to happen to me, to us. What if I lose you, or you lose me?” You wiped your eyes and finally looked up at him. “I can’t.. I don’t want to think about it.. I..”
He stared at you and you could see tears forming in his eyes as well. “I love you (Y/N), and I’m scared too,” he said softly. Your heart skipped a beat at the words. He loved you, and you loved him. “You don’t.. you don’t have to say it back. I know it hasn’t been that long I-“
“I love you too Spencer,” you said smiling and wiping your eyes. Before you could say anything else, his lips were on yours and he kissed you deeply. You kissed him back as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer and you felt yourself get lost in his lips. You had missed the way his warmth felt and how safe he made you feel. You kissed for a while and then you pulled away slightly. “So.. you wanna come over?” you asked and Spencer nodded quickly.
You made your way to the train and Spencer held your hand all the way to your apartment. You wondered the future would hold for both of you after confessing your love. You just hoped the other shoe wouldn’t drop.

“Spence, I’ve always loved you…” you heard JJ say when you were trying to pick the lock of the door to the back room of the shop where an unsub was holding some hostages. During a case, JJ and Spencer had been taken hostages by an unsub who had been playing truth or dare with his victims. You didn’t hear the full conversation but this made your stomach hurt. You knew you couldn’t get distracted, there was other hostages in there too, not just your teammates. You heard a gun shot just as you pulled the door open, running inside along with Matt and the swat team you were with. You rushed to the shop manager who had been shot and helped the paramedics who were checking her. You didn’t go to Spencer right away fearing that he would read your face, the pain you were feeling. You didn’t hear him say anything to JJ’s confession so you didn’t know what he was feeling.
Everyone was being taken to the hospital and you saw Spencer having his hand wrapped by a paramedic with Rossi and JJ not too far from where he was standing. You saw JJ glance at him and then look away, as Spencer looked at her. The look he gave her broke your heart and you wiped your eyes. You saw Matt noticed you wiping your tears and you looked away quickly, getting in the car. Luckily Spencer rode in a different car back to the BAU so you didn’t have to see him. Not yet.
What were you gonna say to him now? What would he tell you about what you heard?
You just looked out the window, without saying anything the whole way to the BAU. When you got there, you told Emily you felt sick and if you could just finish your report later. She agreed and let you go, without question.
It was just a matter of time, you thought to yourself and couldn’t help but cry some more on the way home. You knew life with Spencer was too good to be true.

Favourite smells… baking bread, the coconut smell from broom bushes, and sea air immediately come to mind.
Perfumes… Well, my husband buys me one every Christmas and it lasts me all year until the next Christmas. That’s my “posh” perfume, I wear for going out places. This year it’s Daisy Wild by Marc Jacobs. Last year it was Olympéa by Paco Rabanne. Then I have various small brand body sprays etc for everyday use when I’m just at home or popping to the shops etc.

“We could do an undercover mission,” you suddenly blurted out while staring at the evidence board.
Your words caught the attention of the rest of the team. For days you hadn’t gotten any closer to catching the unsub and you were getting tired of waiting for another victim.
“You’re right. The last two times he went after the new girls at the strip club,” Luke stated. “We could lure him out that way.”
“Going undercover as a stripper? It's risky but it could work,” JJ agreed. “I'm not gonna do it, though.”
As if on cue, everyone's eyes were suddenly on you.
It made sense, you were the youngest on the team and fit the unsub's type the most.
“Absolutely not,” Spencer disagreed as he shook his head. “It's too dangerous and she's too inexperienced.”
“Hey!” You scolded your coworker. “I can handle myself. And I have plenty of experience!”
“As a stripper or undercover agent?” Luke joked to lighten the mood.
Rolling your eyes, you huffed, “As a profiler! And just for the record, I took some pole dancing lessons a while ago.”
You were met with surprised looks and raised eyebrows. Before anyone had the chance to make an inappropriate remark, you clarified, “It’s a great workout, actually.”
Emily found your eyes. Ultimately she was the one who'd have to make this decision. “Are you sure you're okay with this?”
You thought about it for a moment before you nodded. You were certain that your team would protect you no matter what. There was nothing to worry about.
After a day of preparation, everything was ready for the undercover mission. It was still early when you and Spencer arrived at the club. It wouldn't be for another hour until the first guests would show up.
“I'm gonna go change,” you said before you disappeared in a room in the back while Spencer took a look around the club to make sure all the hidden cameras were in place.
After you closed the door behind you, you took a deep breath and pulled out a lacy purple bodysuit that would cover your skin just enough to hide the microphone. After you shed your clothes, you taped the wire to your body before slipping into the piece of lingerie. When you checked yourself in the mirror, your heart started racing at the thought of dancing on a stage dressed like that.
You didn’t even care that a bunch of strangers would see you like that. But Spencer would be there, too and that was a thought you could barely handle. When Emily decided he should be the one present while everyone else waited in the surveillance truck outside, you almost wanted to call the mission off.
Nobody on your team knew how much you were pining for Spencer. Countless sleepless nights had been filled with fantasies of sharing intimate moments with him. And now you had to strip in front of him in a room full of strangers while potentially being targeted by a serial killer. That wasn’t quite what you had imagined.
Despite covering up the most important parts, the one-piece left very little to the imagination. By applying a dramatic amount of make-up and fixing your hair, you tried to distract yourself from the thought. Once you were done, you inspected your work in the mirror. You looked so different, it was almost shocking.
Earlier you were worried that everybody would be able to tell at first glance that you weren’t actually a professional stripper but now you were sure you’d pass well. You closed your eyes for a moment and thought back to the pole dance lessons you took a while ago to spice up your workout routine. It had been a while but you were confident you still remembered most of the moves.
A knock on the door had your eyes shoot open again.
“Are you decent?” You heard Spencer’s voice on the other side.
“No,” you laughed as you opened the door. “But that’s kind of the point.”
As he took in the sight in front of him, Spencer’s eyes widened and his mouth opened slightly. The subtle rosy shade spreading over his cheeks let your heart jump.
“You look…” Spencer started but failed to finish his sentence.
“I know, it’s a lot,” you finally sighed.
“It’s very different from your usual work attire,” he chuckled. “You look beautiful, though.”
His words seemed sincere. They made you smile. There was a moment of silence between the two of you before Spencer continued talking.
“The manager of the club asked about a name to introduce you to the crowd.”
“Oh I gotta pick a stripper name! That’s fun. Do you have any ideas?” You asked him before adding, “You’re from Vegas after all.”
“Crystal, Candy, Ginger, Diamond, Amber, Karma… all very popular stripper names. They don’t really suit you, though,” he said with furrowed brows as if he was really thinking about it.
“What’s your suggestion?”
A smirk spread over his face before he leaned down enough for you to feel his body heat. “Vixen,” he teased.
His choice made you laugh out loud. It was not surprising to you that he’d pick something that could be interpreted as both, a compliment and an insult. “That’s perfect.”
“Are you already wearing your wire?” He asked while scanning your body once more.
“Yeah, you can’t tell, can you?” You wondered as you traced your finger over the lace of your bodysuit, following the wire underneath the fabric. Spencer audibly gulped when you brushed your hand over your breast. It wasn’t even intentional but made it very obvious that your outfit had at least some effect on him.
He shook his head. “Do you think it might come loose when you move on stage?” He wanted to know.
You hadn’t thought about that before. Wire spilling out from your cleavage would certainly bust your undercover mission.
“Maybe I should do a little practice run?” You suggested and Spencer agreed.
Spencer followed you back to the club and took a seat in first row while you got up on the stage. Taking a few steps around the platform, you made yourself familiar with the space available. The pole was right in the middle. You walked around it slowly, tentatively letting your hand move along it. The light was so bright you could barely see the seats.
After searching for a second, you found Spencer’s eyes staring up at you.
“Could you keep your eyes on me to make sure the wire… or anything else… doesn’t show?”
He raised his eyebrows and repeated your words, “Anything else?”
“Spencer, I’m wearing a tiny skin-tight bodysuit and I’m about to swing my body around a pole. I’m sure you know what I mean. I don’t want to show more than what these people pay for,” you snickered.
“It would certainly guarantee great tips,” he joked.
His words made you laugh, “I hope you brought small bills.”
After taking a deep breath, you followed the steps you had memorized from your pole dance classes. First, you slowly walked around the pole before bending down while dramatically arching your back. Then, you squatted down before slowly standing up straight again. With your hand on the pole you walked around it a little faster to gather some momentum before jumping up and hooking one leg around the pole. Holding that position for a second, you took another deep breath until you slowly slid down again.
You repeated different variations of those moves several times until you were sure you had tested your outfit enough. Walking to the edge of the stage, you found Spencer immediately offering you a hand to help you get down.
“That was very impressive,” he praised you, making your heart skip another beat.
When you looked at him you noticed how his cheeks seemed heated and his pupils were dilated a little more than usual. The tension between you was palpable and made you curious about how far you could take this with him. There were still a few minutes left until your team would turn on the cameras and microphones.
This undercover persona you had taken on really boosted your confidence.
“What if the unsub asks me for a private dance?” You said while motioning your head towards a more secluded area of the club.
“There are cameras everywhere and I can assure you that I won’t let you out of my sight. I’ll keep you safe.” The firm tone of his voice didn’t leave any room for doubt.
“Thank you. But maybe… I should practice that, too? To be safe?”
Spencer raised his eyebrows at your suggestion before nodding. “You’re right. We should talk this through.”
He walked right behind you when you approached the section of the club with private booths for lap dances. “You should take this one,” he said while pointing at the booth in the middle and sitting down at the table closest to it. “Leave the curtain open a crack, this way I can watch from here.”
He stayed at the table while you did as he said, leaving the curtain open just enough for him to peek through it. Then, you walked back out of the booth to take Spencer’s hand in yours.
“Come on,” you said with a nervous tremble in your voice.
There was little resistance from him when you pulled him from his seat to lead him into the booth. He sat down and watched your every move as you closed the curtain completely.
“That’s not what we just discussed,” he reminded you, hinting at the closed curtain.
“I know,” you said and winked. “But you’re not the unsub.”
“Club rules state that the customers aren’t allowed to touch the dancers but they can touch them. You don’t have to do that, though. If anyone really asks for a private dance, I’d suggest you keep an arm’s length of distance.”
“Unless it’s you?” You snickered as you approached him.
“Very funny,” he deadpanned. “And just for the record, you can also decline a private dance. You don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with. As far as we know the unsub jumps his victims after the show on their way to the car.”
Your stomach turned at the thought of giving a lap dance to a serial killer. This really was a line you didn’t want to cross but that didn’t mean you couldn’t play along to spend more time with your favorite coworker.
“Okay, no more unsub talk,” you said with a playful tone. “I gotta practice the lap dance now.”
It seemed as if Spencer only realized now what you had in mind all along. You almost couldn’t believe that he thought you only wanted to talk this through. “Are you okay with this?” You asked to make sure. He confirmed by nodding.
“So, cutie,” you purred while brushing your hands over your sides. “What do you like?”
“Uhm…” he stuttered as he watched you move your body slowly in front of him.
Turning to your side, you arched your back to give him a perfect view of the curve of your backside. “Maybe this?” You teased.

Finding his eyes, you noticed how the gold of his irises had almost entirely been swallowed by the black of his pupils. You stepped closer until there was barely any distance between the two of you. He looked up at you with a certain hunger written all over his face. Placing your hand on his shoulders, you leaned forward to let him take a look at your cleavage.
“How about this?” You breathed and watched as his Adam’s apple bobbed.
“You really are a vixen,” he groaned and closed his eyes for a moment.
That was when you dared to let your eyes drop to his lap, a smirk spreading over your face when you noticed the bulge straining against his pants. Heat started rushing to your center at the realization of the effect you had on him.

“Yes we can hear you,” Spencer answered.
“Damn, what are you guys doing?” You heard Luke’s voice and were reminded that the entire club was equipped with surveillance cameras.
Quickly getting up from Spencer’s lap, you cleared your voice and explained, “I uhm… was just practicing a lap dance.”
“Please tell me I don’t have to file a report to HR,” Emily sighed and you weren’t sure if she was joking or not.
“We just decided that private dances are off limits for her tonight,” Spencer informed your team leader as he got up from his seat and walked out of the booth right after you.
You turned your head to find his eyes. “Did we now?”
Spencer nodded, “It’s too dangerous.”
“Yeah we can’t risk giving civilians heart-attacks,” Penelope giggled through your ear-piece. “You look amazing, by the way.”
After talking everything through with your team once more, you went backstage again to freshen up and fix your hair and make-up. It wouldn’t be long until it was your turn on the stage.
When a very sweet dancer named Karma returned from the stage, she waved at you and said, “Vixen, you’re up next. Good luck, they are gonna love you!”
Your heart was pounding louder than the music when you approached the stage. The club was full, the air was hot and filled with the sweet perfumes of the dancers before you. The light was so bright you could barely see the crowd.
You tried to find him, anyway.
Spencer sat at the same spot as before when you finally found his eyes. He wore a soft smile and nodded at you, encouraging you to stick to the plan.
The club owner’s voice blared through the speakers, “Everyone make some noise for our new arrival Vixen!”
The crowd cheered and you started moving, following the steps you had practiced and repeating them in different variations over and over again. Every once in a while you looked for Spencer’s soft smile for reassurance and he was always there to provide just that. The longer you danced, the more you were reminded why pole dancing was a whole body workout after all.
When your muscles started aching, your time was finally up. You left the stage and disappeared in the changing room to sip some water and wait for further instructions.
“A tall man with a blue baseball cap asked the manager for a private dance with you,” Spencer informed you through your ear-piece. “He seemed very agitated when his request was denied. I’m gonna keep my eyes on him, he might be our unsub.”
“Thank you,” you whispered into your microphone, making sure the other women there wouldn’t notice.
It made you feel safe to know that Spencer had your back. You were certain that if anyone would lay as much as a finger on you, they would immediately feel the barrel of his gun on the back of their head.
You changed into your regular clothes and put on a jacket, getting ready to leave the club just like you rehearsed with your team.
“Is everyone in position?” You heard Emily’s voice. After everyone confirmed, she told you to leave the club through the backdoor.
Despite the exhaustion, your nerves were on edge, aware that the unsub might try to attack you any moment now. You had your gun in your purse and your hand ready to quickly grab it as you walked out the door.
Looking around, you didn’t see anyone, not even the members of the team even though you were certain they were there. They still needed probable cause to make an arrest.
“Suspect is approaching,” Spencer whispered.
Even though you expected him, you were still startled when you suddenly felt his presence behind you.
“You owe me a lap dance,” the man snarled at you as you turned around.
You already had your hand wrapped around your gun in your purse when he started approaching you with his arms reached out.
Spencer quickly appeared behind him with his gun pointed at the unsub, yelling, “FBI, don’t move!” He froze and stepped back. “If you touch her, you’re dead,” Spencer growled.
The rest of your team appeared to help with the arrest and hand the guy over to the local police. Relief washed over you when you realized that your undercover mission was successful. Once you got back to your hotel room, you couldn’t wait to wash off your make-up and take a shower.
After getting cleaned up you slipped into your pajama shorts and an oversized shirt, ready to get into bed. A firm knock on your hotel room door disrupted your plan. You had a feeling who you might find on the other side.
Spencer stood in the hallway, a concerned look on his face. “I just wanted to make sure you’re okay,” he said as you stepped aside to invite him in.
“I’m okay,” you confirmed with a tired smile on your face.
His sight grazed over your outfit, almost as if he were caressing your body with his eyes.
Spencer was still wearing his dress shirt and black pants and you wondered what he would look like in casual clothes. It was hard to imagine him in a simple t-shirt and sweatpants.
“You look more like yourself again,” he said, hinting at your clean face and casual clothes.
“Do you already miss Vixen?” You quipped.
“No,” he countered without hesitation. “I prefer you like this. You're even more beautiful without any make-up on.”
His straightforwardness let heat rush to your cheeks. It was as if the time you spent at the club with him changed something between the two of you. You always hoped for your feelings to be mutual but could never be sure before.
Spencer seemed tense when he continued speaking. “This was your first undercover mission and I know this one was very intense.”
You tried to lighten the mood. “So you don’t usually have to dance half-naked in front of serial killers when you go undercover?”
“Rarely,” he chuckled before being quiet for a second. “I know we asked a lot of you tonight.”
You thought back to when you suggested that mission. “You didn't. You never even wanted me to go undercover.”
“Yeah, I really did not want that,” he agreed.
“There was no need to worry, I knew you'd have my back,” you reassured him.
Spencer stepped closer to you, his eyes fixated on yours, a slight glimmer visible in the warm amber of his irises. “Can I be honest with you?”
With a nod you confirmed, prompting Spencer to keep talking.
“This mission was like torture to me.”
You felt your heart stop for a moment and a pit form in your stomach. Thinking back to earlier that night, you started to feel bad for being so bold.
“I'm very sorry. I never wanted to make you uncomfortable.”
To your surprise, your words made him chuckle. “That's not what I'm talking about. You didn't make me uncomfortable.”
That was relieving to hear. It also made you curious. “Then explain it to me, please.”
He took a step towards you. His tone was tense when he said, “It was torture because I hated seeing all those men looking at you, lusting after you. Nobody should be allowed to see you like that.”
Another step in your direction. Now your chests were almost touching and you were sure that Spencer must have been able to hear the accelerated beating of your heart.
He leaned down, his hot breath ghosting over the skin of your neck before he whispered, “Nobody but me.”
It was then that all your remaining self-restraint broke. Swinging your arms around his neck, you pulled him against your body while capturing his lips with yours. With the same amount of eagerness he reciprocated your actions.
With one hand in the nape of your neck and the other on your back, he secured your position pressed against his body. Belle just stood there, frozen in the realization she’d just made a terrible, terrible mistake.

This was a lesson Belle wouldn’t forget - if she returned from it alive. The moment rays of sunlight peek through the curtain and hit my face, I turn to my back to avoid them, not ready to fully start the day yet.
Still half awake, half sleepy, I can feel a pair of hazel looking at me. I peek one eye open, and I see Spencer smiling at me.
"Good morning, beautiful," he rasps. And I don't know why such simple words have me blushing like a schoolgirl. Beaming, I return the greeting.
"Morning, handsome."
I get my reply with a lingering kiss on my lips, which I fully savored until a sudden thought came to me.
"What time is it? We need to get up."
Spencer, with his calm voice, shakes his head.
"It's a bit early yet. We have time. Also, you have some clothes here, so you don't need to go to your apartment before driving to work."
Smart me for bringing clothes to his apartment. It's an obvious decision, though, considering I have spent more nights here in the past weeks than in my place.
A devilish smirk makes an appearance on my face.
"So, we do have time, don't we?"

How much time can you fool a bunch of the best profilers in the country, hiding your relationship with one of your coworkers? Spencer and I keep the count. The mark is set now in four months and two weeks.
It's not that we are embarrassed by what we have or anything close to that. It's just that things started so casually and naturally, and they're running so smoothly, so we want to keep it to ourselves as long as we can.
And by now? It's working.
We have also been careful about it. On our first nights together, we woke up early and went home for a shower and a change of clothes. After some weeks, we started to pack extra in our go-bag. Now, we have at least a change of clothes in each other's places. The second rule is never to get to work at the same time or on the same transportation. Spencer usually takes the metro even if I can drive and make time in the parking lot. Just one day, we did it, and we were so worked up in our making out session that we almost got caught by Morgan, who parked two cars away from mine.

"Basic observation? I honestly don't follow you guys at all," I reply, feeling a bit overwhelmed by this unexpected Tuesday morning interrogation. This time, JJ steps forward with her evidence laid out right before me.
"We have all noticed the changes in you over the past few months—the giddy smile that lights up your face when you read a text on your phone, the new pep in your step, and how you hurry home every time we finish a case. Do I need to say more?"
"Busted!" Garcia points a mocking finger at me. I roll my eyes in fake annoyance. After all, they are completely right.
"Okay, okay. Yeah. I'm seeing a guy. Happy?" I confess, and Garcia squeals.
"Yay! We need to know everything about him."
Oh. That's dangerous territory.
JJ notices my discomfort and tries to ease it a bit.
"Penelope, I'm sure we'll know more with time. Right?" JJ looks at me, and I nod appreciatively.
"Okay. But the basics. Is the guy good?" Emily asks. A silly smile appears on my face.
"Of course he is. He's caring, fun, always attentive-" I'm about to start a rant about how my mystery man is perfect. But Emily's snort stops me at mid-sentence.
"What?"
"Emily is asking if he is good in bed!" Penelope clarifies, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Are you really expecting me to tell you about my sex life?"
The three girls nod in unison with no shame. Well, I guess I got my answer.
"Like if you haven't done it before. And for what it is worth, we all have said something about it more than once. That's why we created girls's night in the first place," Emily points eloquently, as always.
Touchè. They are right. I have said more than I would like to admit about my sex life. But now it's not that simple. We are talking about Spencer, even if they don't know it yet.
"Then? Is he good or not?"
I contemplate my answer not because I don't know what to say but not revealing more than necessary.
"I don't think good is enough to describe sex with him. The first time we slept together was amazing. The whole night was if you know what I mean. A frown appears on his face, but he brushes it off quickly.
"Me? Oh, yeah. Fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. It's just Hotch that had me checking and analyzing a pile of boxes with folders from old cases in the store office. That's all."
It makes sense. Spencer's fast reading is a blessing and a curse, and obviously, people tend to use it often in the office.
"I'm sorry, sure it wasn't a very entertaining task."
A shy smile creeps on his lips, and I have to use all my self-control not to pounce on him right now and pepper his face with kisses.
"It's okay. I'm already done, anyway. How has been your morning?"
"Oh. Mostly paperwork. As everyone. But I think I'll be done soon, too." Before continuing, I check my surroundings to ensure nobody else is listening. "Maybe we can go home early?" I suggest seductively.
The flush in Spencer's cheeks is endearing. It's like the ones I sported this morning when the girls were interrogating me. And they want me to tell this boy about my kinks? No way. I won't do that if it means he won't feel comfortable with me again.

Don't get me wrong. I love my job. But being stuck in the middle of the desert, looking for an unsub that seems to be a ghost? And I say 'ghost' literally because we are looking for a guy who is dead for the town records. No, this is not my idea of a 'normal work day.'
It's frustrating, and not only for the lack of progress. The heat here is like hell. The AC barely works, and everyone's mood is bitchy.
We are not making any progress by now, so Hotch sends us to the hotel for the night. Once in my room, I text Spencer, not with an explicit purpose but to talk to him for a while. But he doesn't answer my texts. Is he sleeping by now? Considering he's a night owl, I found it very rare. But maybe he's drained like everyone else, so I let it slide.
In the morning, after my shower, I'm checking my phone, and I don't have any messages. Has Spencer received my texts?
I don't want to sound paranoid, but it's like something is going on. At the precinct, I barely get a hello from Spencer. Okay. Maybe it's the stress. I don't give it too much thought, either. Not when we have work to do.
And boy, we have been working hard on this one. Some clues give us hope, but we're far from catching the unsub.
In the little spare time we have between interrogations and visiting dumping sites, I try to share moments with Spencer, but it definitely seems like he doesn't want to be alone with me in the same room, even if he doesn't say it or shows signs of annoyance or animosity towards me.
I can't tell why he is so distant, but it's starting to worry me. Did I do something? And it's killing me because the more I think about it, the more I miss him. A kiss, a hug, anything from him would ease the ache I'm starting to feel.

As if all that had happened wasn't enough, when I got to the parking lot, my car fucking didn't start. I knew I had to get it checked before.

That delayed my arrival home for another 45 minutes.
Now, disappointed, frustrated, and with no car, I slam the door shut. The apartment is pitch black, and I have no energy to flick the lights on, so I drag myself to the bedroom. When I open the door, a yelp escapes my mouth when I see a silhouette of a man sitting in the chair I have in one corner.
I'm about to reach for my gun when the bedside lamp flicks on, and the scare turns to confusion when I see Spencer sitting there.
"What the fuck!"
"Hi," he says as if he hadn't almost scared me to death two seconds ago.
"Spencer! What are you doing here?" My voice sounds harsher than I intended, but Spencer brushes it off quickly.
"Waiting for you," he says matter-of-factly.
I'm officially confused. We were together an hour ago? He left without saying anything.
"I don't understand. The way you left the jet in such a hurry, I thought I was the last person you wanted to be with."
My words come out resentful, but I can't help it. Spencer's eyes soften. I averted his gaze as I dropped my go-bag, unholst my gun to set it on the safe, and sat at the end of the bed to remove my boots.
"Hey, don't say that. Of course, I want to be with you," Spencer says, standing from the seat and kneeling to help me remove my boots.
"I'm sorry, but it didn't show that way. You avoided me all week!"
Great, now I sound like I'm making a tantrum.
From his place where he knelt on the floor, his eyes met mine, and I don't know why suddenly I felt a shudder running down my spine.
"Sweetheart, you know we were working, weren't we?"
That condescending tone escaping Spencer's lips? It is something unexpected. But why does it make me kind of nervous? It's a type of nervousness that gives me butterflies in my stomach.
"I know! But- but then in the jet. And you left."
Why am I babbling? Since when did Spencer have looked at me with those piercing eyes?
He stands and offers me a hand to help me to do the same.
"Is my girl upset?" He asks when we are both upright.
'My girl'? That's new. Spencer always calls me by my name, a short version of it, or beautiful, or sweetheart. But thinking about it, 'my girl' doesn't sound bad at all.
"No! I'm not-"
"Oh yes, you are. Look, I wanted to prepare a surprise for you tonight, so I left in a hurry. I was thinking about a bubble bath, dinner, wine, and a movie. I even had the table done with candles ready to lit," he says nonchalantly, and I feel silly for thinking the worst scenarios all week.
"Oh," is the only thing escaping my lips.
"But now, thinking about it, maybe you don't deserve it. Not if you're questioning me like this," Spencer shakes his head in fake - I hope - disappointment.
Okay. Stop right there. What the hell is going on here? Why is Spencer talking like that? About me as 'not deserving' something? What's next? That I'm a naughty girl? - Uhm, I wonder how it could be hearing those words from his lips.-

"Come here," he requests as now he is the one who sits at the edge of the bed and pats the spot in his lap. It doesn't sound too commanding, but sure as hell, I don't need anything more to comply. I need to know where this is heading.
As I'm at Spencer's reach, he pulls me by my wrist to land on his lap while his other hand cradles my face.
"Tell me, uh? Why are you upset?"
