“I love this song so much. It really makes me think of a different time. Music is so good at that, isn’t it?” When it was over you walked to the CD player and turned it down to a low whisper.
Contact sheet for something that is so exciting to me.

When I look at this picture it blows my mind how much time had to elapse in order for it to happen and that it was taken in winter is something of an unintended metaphor.

I took this picture of Asbury Park (north of Convention Hall) over the summer. Honestly, I can’t tell you what happened with the colors, but I’m pretty keen on how the lab processed them. Could’ve been heat damage or something.
I first went to Asbury as a kid in the early eighties, and then I probably didn’t return for around twenty years until roughly 2004, when friends and I started going to what was then a pretty empty, underdeveloped and scruffy beach dotted with some punks and other outlaws.
Like most things on the planet, it’s changed since 2004. Grown up, gotten a shave and a nice haircut and some expensive new clothes. It’s tough to see now the way it looked roughly fifteen years ago. Not everything gets to remain my personal private beach forever.
