Leaked image of Steven's corruption! Very hard to look at,I cried.
If they were to have drawn an accurate image of Steven's bones,it would look more like this
Poor baby has gone through so much-
Grading Steven Universe ships by their ship name!
Rupphire: isn't this just Garnet? C'mon guys, the fusions are the ship. Anyways,I love these gals. 6/10
Connverse: same issue as above, except I like this name better then Stevonnie. Reminds me of shoes. 7/10
Bellow diamond: I- what? Bellow? I feel bad for laughing but this ship name is horrible. 3/10
Volleypearl: I hate the nickname volleyball. 2/10
Stevencest: Steven and the Stevens. 2.5/10
Bispearl: of course bismuth would be on top. 7/10
Lapidot: dipping dots with extra baggage. 6/10
If you guys have any other ships you want me to grade, feel free to send an ask!
Nobody asked for this.
Your welcome.
Now that Steven universe is drawing towards the end,I think I've finally come to realize why I connect with steven so much.
This is just my Headcannon,so please don't get mad at me, but I can see him as autistic. And I'm able to put myself in his shoes and understand why he does the things he does.
Even when he was younger, sure most people looked at him like an annoying kid,but he was doing what made him happy, and that made me happy.
And now that he's older,he's having to come to grips with everything changing, and that's hard to deal with. It's funny how the series is going through this just as I start going through so many changes in my life, and I love it.
I'm sad to see the series go,but I just wanna thank Rebecca and all of the crewniverse for bringing us such wonderful characters and giving us a great story.
Also, here's a little doodle I did of Steven:
Identity Confusion/Crisis in Autism
Recently I realised that it isn’t unusual for autistic people to have lifelong struggles with their identities. This has certainly been true for me. I’ve spoken to many autistic people who feel as though they don’t have a stable sense of who they are or want to be, and sometimes feel as though they live their lives switching from identity to identity or being extremely preoccupied with it in an attempt to figure it out.
Everybody needs an identity to help them work out how to act in the moment and predict things about themselves in the future. This in turn can help us imagine what we might want from our futures and what would be worth committing our time, money, and energy to.
Confusion about your identity, therefore, means that you will have trouble knowing what you want, what to do, or how to relate to yourself or other people. You may feel as though that you don’t know who you are in one or more aspects of you life to such a degree that you or others find this disruptive, distracting, or distressing.
There isn’t much research on this subject as it relates to autism specifically but there is some research on identity confusion more generally. For instance, I came across a video on YouTube that talked about identity confusion and borderline personality disorder. The description of the video chimed with me:
Many individuals with BPD feel uncertain about where they end and others begin. This is part of the unstable self-image often seen in those with this diagnosis. This video will discuss identity disturbance in BPD and the feeling that you have no idea who you are or what you believe in, characterized by shifting goals, values, and vocational aspirations. There may be sudden changes in opinions and plans about career, sexual identity, values, and types of friends.
There are significant differences between BPD and autism, but the feeling of not knowing where I end and others begin is something I have felt my whole life and is something that I have heard from many other autistic people, too.
Identity confusion, broadly speaking, can lead to or manifest as…

They could also just be having a good day, a good month, or a good year.
But hey what do I know right.
Any tips on writing Autistic characters?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I think my best answer is balance and understanding. I did my best to give some tips, but also know that these are just sorta the things I thought of and my opinion and tips are obviously only one perspective.
Six Base Tips on Writing Autistic Characters
First, do your research. Research and learn not only what autism is and how it presents, but also look for personal experiences of people who are actually autistic. Get a wide range of demographics and experiences, especially because autism is on a huge spectrum.
Second, know that autism is a big part of a lot of people’s identities, but it also doesn’t have to be the main thing your story is about (and if it’s your first time writing an autistic character- probably shouldn’t be what your story is about). Autism affects my daily life. I bring headphones and stim toys with me everywhere. I block flashing light tags on social media. I have accommodations in school. Autism is a part of me and it’s a part of me I’m happy with, but it also isn’t my whole life, even if it affects my whole life.
Third, be aware of tropes and stereotypes. Don’t play into the “savior caretaker” role. Know that autism falls on a spectrum and people experience it in all sorts of ways.
Fourth, don’t “cure” autism. Just don’t do it.
Fifth, know that a lot of people are self diagnosed due to the issues regarding the diagnosis process. Your character can be self diagnosed. That is accepted in the autistic community.
Sixth, avoid Autism $peaks and ABA therapy. They’re abusive. If you want to know more about them, look up stuff advocates for autism acceptance have to say about them. They’re awful. Avoid “Autism Moms” as well. Avoid functioning labels.
These are just some base tips. If you have any questions or if anyone wants to add anything on, feel free to. Also, if you do end up writing an autistic character, feel free to ask me to read it over if you like. I can’t promise I’ll have the time or spoons, but you can always ask, I wouldn’t be offended at all.

Things to Know About Writing Autistic People
Me trying to write from a NT character's POV : Yes, this character is very sociable and very much understands people and they love to talk and look people straight in the eyes and did I mention that they're NTs ? They're totally neurotypicals. I truly get neurotypicals !
autism isn’t a mental illness, @ allistics (non-autistic ppl) please stop adding autism to your “mental illness positivity posts” or whatever
Friendly reminder; stimming is completely natural and okay! Don’t be ashamed of your stims, no matter how “weird” they are to allistic people.
We don’t exist to please them.
Found on internet. I agree with many. I understand teasing, I can tease and be sarcastic but I'm not sure if people are teasing me. I do not prefere to communicate via text or email. It is still very stressful for me. I do not chew, but I used to as a kid. I do not consider myself a picky eater. Rest is spot on.
Most of this is spot on for me. I get extremely uncomfortable when calling, and only recently been able to talk consistently with my best friend of 5 years over the phone.
And I get teased alot for being a picky eater. (Being told I only really eat when it comes to spaghetti or pickles)
