“Ay. Name’s Kalas. And, yeah, messes are... a thing, I guess.”

“Never really decided to make myself a presence in the office until recently. Working Midnight’s always fun, since there’s always work what with every monster having some sort of... broken, thing, by the end of the day.”

“Theres a lot more than just one around, lately.”

You're a magic user, right? How come you didn't join the magic department?

“I wanted to help people a bit more hands-on. So, I got a job where I got right into the grit of helping people’s workplaces function. I use my magic to make things better, never really did take to research or sussing out the secrets of all magic. I’m here to make other folks have a better day, and magic helps me do that.”

So! Jon and his sweetheart fused, got any opinions on it since they're much more chaotic now?

You get a weighty shrug and a reluctant look.

“They’ve got their own problems. Half of the reason I started talking to people outside of the closet was because of both of them, though. I liked ‘em, maybe wanted to chat sometime. Now, I don’t think I can without gross bodily harm.”

“So, overall, a bit sad, actually. Chaos means more work for me, though, so that’s a plus.”

Hey, folks. Thanks for the follows and warm reception. Box is open if you want to toss me any questions, I’ll get around to ‘em when there isn’t another massive mess to clean up in the cafeteria, or another busted pipe.

“The... Magic cat. Oh.”

“Well.”

“I get noticed plenty. It’s not in the helloes, and it’s not in the thank yous. It’s in the office being put back together, the halls protected and upkept. The stains cleaned, the rooms repurposed.”

“We’re janitors.”

“After major incidents or accidents, janitorial staff steps in to clean it up. I’m usually in after them, or alongside them. We take the bite marks out of the walls.”

“We’re builders.”

“With the influx of staff, it’s more likely that damages are going to happen. With all of the fighting between the upper rungs, it doesn’t take long for things to break. Thankfully, with us around, it’s not long before their fixed, either.”

“Me?”

“I’m an Enchanter. People need to be rebuilt sometimes, too. Supported, assisted. Kept going. Monsters, with all of their tags and differences, need the same thing.”

“I’m a Hero, I guess.”
