I'm not shutting the blog down, I'm keeping everything up as an archive. I really, really enjoyed writing for all of you, and I hope one day I can get back into the swing of it. But this has been so far on the backburner that I just can't see myself coming back in the near future. I hope you all continue to enjoy the works I have posted.
I'm still into hypmic, that brainrot hasn't faded. If you're into my writing, my ao3 is HERE and is updated very, very sporadically. Mostly I write JakuDo and GenDice, if you're into that. I also have @gretchenwrites as a blog where I sometimes rattle off headcanons when I have them.
I'm really happy you all enjoyed my writing so much, and I know there is a multitude of other headcanon/reader-insert blogs for hypnosis mic rolling around that are wonderful. (I'm sure you've found them!)

Iāve tried to make a masterlist in the past - but had an issue with Tumblr as a Site where hyperlinking to each post was an issue. (Or I would hyperlink, it would show as hyperlinked every time i went to edit .....but just not show up as linked.)
Iāve thought about making a carrd or something where I could do that, but if anyone knows how to make this site function iād be glad to!

SABURO YAMADA
The both of you were walking home from school to your place - Saburo said heād help you study, when you asked. The sky was overcast, but it wasnāt like it was supposed to rain that day. So it definitely caught the both of you off-guard when the rain started plip-plopping down.
Saburo was clearly a little annoyed. And while his pouting is just...well itās too cute, itās hard to see him upset. You donāt know what exactly came over you in that moment, instead of trying to find an awning to hide under or start running home, you grab his hand and twirl him around.Ā
Needless to say, Saburoās caught by surprise. He opens his mouth to say something, that the two of you should get out of the rain, that heās going to catch a cold, but when he sees how wide your smile is, how youāre laughing even through this stretch of bad luck, well...he canāt be that mad.
JIRO YAMADA
Ā āHey so, donāt be mad at me, but I totally forgot that it was gonna rain today.āĀ
He gives you that sheepish smile as you leave the arcade, as the rain pours down. Even under the awning in front of the door, youāre getting wet, as the wind whips past the both of you. You want to be mad, to snap at him a little, because you know that the arcade wasnāt going to let you loiter until the storm stops, whenever that would be, and youāre already feeling soaked to the bone anyway. But something about that stupid smile makes you pause.Ā
Jiro still sees youāre upset, and gently needles you about how you forgot to bring an umbrella too, after all, but then he gets a bright idea in his head. He hums along to the song playing on one of the advertisements he can hear inside, and brings you out into the rain.Ā āWeāre wet anyway, whatās the harm?ā And he spins you around in the rain. You laugh with him, you canāt stay angry with Jiro for long.

ICHIRO YAMADA
You and Ichiro understand that sometimes, youāre both just so busy that itās difficult to see each other for any amount of time. Heās always doing the more involved odd jobs (god forbid he sends his brothers to do something too difficult) and you usually have work to do as well, with your job. Itās something the two of you expect.Ā
It doesnāt mean it doesnāt bother you at all, though. Sometimes silly Line stickers just arenāt enough to substitute quality time with each other.Ā
So when you see that familiar flash of red in the crowd as you step out of your building to grab lunch, you can hardly help yourself. And he canāt help himself either, once he sees you across the street. You tackle him hard enough to almost knock him over.Ā
But he still catches you. And you donāt even mind the people staring, that much. Hugging him just feels so solid and real, that you just want to melt.Ā

Jiroās impulsive, but his love of shoujo manga means he knows that if heās going to marry you, not only does the proposal have to be spectacular and memorable, but you kinda have to be onboard with it.Ā
But heās not going to beat around the bush, really. Heās not proposing right then and there, but still asksĀ āHey, what do you think about getting married?āĀ
Heās not sure himself if he wants to get married just yet - not that he doesnāt love you! It just seems like a really big step (and moving out seems like a HUGE one for him)

Probably doesnāt have very strong feelings either way about getting married. But knows if itās important to you, so heāll stop calling it a legal con job...for a little bit.Ā
Youāre actually kind of thrown off when he asks about marrying you, his face bright red. Because you were sure he wasnāt really interested in.
Heās actually more willing than Jiro is to take that next step in your relationship. Heās nervous (of course!) but heās still really, really sure about you. It probably takes him longer to actually pop the question - he wants you to have a really really nice diamond ring.

OH MAN I WANNA BABBLE BUT IN A VERY SHORT FORM (and as a caveat I do recognize Iām probably projecting a little bit and my interpretation is not at all fact and ur free to interpret characters as u see fit). Also as a fair warning - spoilers for the most recent MTR drama track.Ā
I think that Jakuraiās character flaws, while less noticeable than those around him (especially less noticeable than Doppoās self loathing and temper, and Hifumiās fear around women and his childlike rudeness) are probably going to be the biggest problems for Matenrou in the near future. Jakuraiās biggest flaw to me is that, for whatever reason, be it just his personality or the role he casts himself in or past incidents (or trauma which is what I think it is because whether Hypmic Writers know it or not I think a lot of this series is built around themes of trauma and recovery) Jakurai keeps everyone, even those closest to him, at armās length. He wants people to rely on him, especially those in his life that he considers the most important, but he doesnāt trust anyone enough to show them vulnerability or ask for people to let him rely on them.Ā
And it isnāt like he doesnāt want to have relationships that go beyond a sort of surface level. In the manga, when he gets drunk the first time with Doppo and Hifumi, one of the things he says to them isĀ āyou guys are going to drink with me and weāre going to become the closest pals everā (using the TL from the lovely people over at @/slugtranslation-hypmic) but he just canāt make that happen. (I also think this is what drew him to be so close with Ramuda in such a short span of time - Ramuda came into the relationship with knowledge of his assassin past. He didnāt have to do the hard part of telling Ramuda and waiting for the image heās created for himself to come crumbling down)Ā
And this instinct he has for hiding the ugly parts of himself to the point that he canāt let anyone in properly, is going to bite him in the ass. Especially now that heās working for Chuuoku, he has two major things that he is hiding from Doppo and Hifumi that are eating him alive. Hifumi says multiple times for sensei to rely on them, because they rely on him. But for whatever reason, he just canāt do it.Ā āRely on me, but I cannot rely on you. Surely this wonāt blow up in my face.ā
And also speaking of the drama track, we hear Jakurai for the first time, absolutely panicked over something, over Hifumi, and at the end beating himself up for not having done enough for him and Doppo. Itās not like he doesnāt care about them.Ā
I also think in a lot of ways, Jakurai is still kind ofĀ āgetting used toā civilian life. I really think of the pool cue scene in particular from the anime, which yes is hot but is also incredibly revealing character-wise. I wouldnāt think that Jakurai, as an ex-Dirty Dawg member and powerful rapper, would actually need to resort to physical violence of any kind. Especially given that up to this point he never has. Even at his most agitated, heās been level-headed enough not to just start swinging. But he does here. I interpret that personally as anĀ āold habitsā sort of thing - he was an assassin at least 10 years before the H-age and general access to microphones, if they had them at all.Ā
Jakurai is a very good, kind, caring man, thatās all true. But I think itās also true that he has a natural instinct to push people away from him to preserve an image of himself that doesnāt necessarily exist, and that he hasnāt properly coped with his own background, choosing instead to create a highly sterilized version of himself thatās always beenĀ āthe good doctorā type. To let someone in, to be vulnerable, is not only taking away that image of himself (the good doctor provides for his patients, not the other way around) but also may leave him susceptible to his friends Learning Things about him that will inevitably shatter that image to the point of no return.Ā
but thatās just a theory. a game theory

Samatoki in death respect calls Jakurai a hypocrite, and heās goddamn right! Jakurai is constantly talking about (and actually has a whole damn song about) the concept ofĀ āno man is an islandā and yet cannot do that himself. I think heās taking very, very tenuous steps towards Doppo and Hifumi in this latest drama track by asking them about that trolley problem question he has, but itās still so vague that itās hardly enough to prevent the inevitable fallout. It makes me sad that MTRās bond was so strong after the first DRB and now itās just so shaky...

āFifteen minutes. That is it.ā She says with a sigh, laying down beside you and setting her timer. She hadnāt finished buttoning her shirt, but you hardly mind that kind of thing. You press up to her side, finding a comfortable position where she can rub your arm, long nails trailing with her fingers, and you arenāt hurting her too much.Ā
Fifteen minutes is hardly enough, and you know pouting wonāt work a second time. But maybe this could be a nice start to her day.Ā
