Edgar had texted her after his urn in with Nathaniel. She honestly never expected to see him again but fate, if that’s what you could call it, was funny that way. Part of her understood the choice Nate made all those years ago, she’d heard he’d gone to medical school and hoped he took Xavier for all he was worth. Still, the effect it had on her brother tainted her view of the man. Taking his hand she made her way down the steps. “He has. I didn’t realize Maywood had such a draw to it. I’m guessing you’re working at the hospital?”
