Importance of Lubrication During Sex
Vaginal lubricants serve as a means by which to facilitate the act of sexual intercourse, allowing the user to actually enjoy the process. Although there are many different types of lube available, water-based lubricants are generally considered more versatile across a variety of situations and more compatible with condoms. Oil-based lubes tend to be much thicker and can degrade latex condoms, thus taking away one of the more convenient features of using such a safe-sex device. However, they do tend to last significantly longer than water based lubes. Silicone based lubricants last longer than any other type of lubricant on the market, foreplay included.Â
